Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Roulette of Karma

"You are dead."

ROB's voice was calm. Matter-of-fact.

I already knew.

When my consciousness gained clarity, I found myself standing in an endless white expanse. No sky. No ground. No sense of distance. Just emptiness, pure, blinding white.

The only thing that stood out was the figure in front of me.

A blurry humanoid silhouette, its edges shimmering as if reality itself struggled to define him.

ROB.

We stared at each other in silence for a few seconds before he turned and motioned for me to follow.

Without any better options, I did. With some anticipation, my head filled with a large amount of garbage about the fantasy reincarnation troupe.

Ahead of us floated a massive roulette wheel, slowly rotating in midair. Its surface was covered in countless words, thousands upon thousands, etched so finely that they should have been impossible to read.

Yet somehow, I could see every single one of them clearly.

Some recognizable, others vague, and the rest foreign.

"This is the karmic roulette," ROB said. "You'll spin it six times. Your karma will influence the results slightly, but don't mistake that for control."

He tapped the wheel with one finger.

"The first spin determines the world you'll reincarnate into. The remaining spins will decide your starting foundation: Energy, Body, Spirit, Character, and an Item."

"Without these," he added casually, "you won't even register how you died in any world that possesses mana, chakra, or superpowers."

I let out a short, uneasy laugh.

"Before we start," I said, "where exactly is this place? And who are you, really? I get that you're some kind of god, but… what kind? A ROB? An omniversal being?"

ROB smirked.

"Nothing so grand," he replied. "I'm a superpowered being from your universe who was chosen, purely by luck, by a true deity. I was elevated into a low-ranking god and assigned a simple task."

He gestured at the roulette.

"Facilitating karmic reincarnations for a handful of fortunate souls."

That explanation went far beyond my understanding, so I wisely chose not to think about it too deeply.

I stepped forward, offered a vague, half-hearted prayer to anything that might be listening, and spun the roulette.

The wheel slowed.

Tick.

Tick.

Excitement bubbled inside me.

The pointer stopped.

Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I blinked.

"…Well," I muttered, "it could've been worse."

"Couldn't say your luck is good or bad. That would depend on the leftover spins. But let me add something, the upper and lower limits of the gifts you gain depend on the first spin."

ROB chuckled softly. "And MCU has a very high upper limit."

I exhaled. Life, if this even counted as life anymore, was unpredictable. And I still had five spins left. For all I knew, I might end up as some cosmic entity punching Thanos through planets.

With renewed anticipation, I spun the wheel again.

Energy: Chakra Full Pack – Ōtsutsuki Version.

My breath hitched.

ROB nodded. "Not bad, a good draw. You'll possess Ten-Tails–grade chakra potential and the qualifications of a chakra progenitor. In time, you'll be able to bestow chakra upon others through chakra seeds."

He paused.

"But chakra does not grow on its own. You will need to cultivate it."

"As a bonus," he continued, "you'll awaken three dōjutsu: the Rinne Sharingan, the Tenseigan, and the Kokugan. You may use two simultaneously—one per eye."

Instinctively, my hand rose to my forehead.

ROB laughed. "Relax. You won't have a third eye like Kaguya. You'll start at the lowest stage, one tomoe each. Their growth depends entirely on your spirit and effort. Grind them."

"And thanks to the Ōtsutsuki physique," he added, "you won't suffer the usual drawbacks."

I nodded, slowly processing everything.

"You may also choose one kekkei genkai," ROB said, "and you'll inherit foundational knowledge of Ōtsutsuki sealing techniques and taijutsu."

"Wood Release," I said immediately.

ROB smiled faintly.

"Next spin."

Body: One Piece Full Pack.

"You'll receive a peak One Piece physique," ROB explained, "a perfected Lineage Factor, and compatibility with all three Devil Fruit categories, Logia, Zoan, and Paramecia."

I hesitated. "Do I need to choose the fruits now?"

"No," he replied. "You may spin later. Random remains random."

Relieved, I spun again.

Spirit: Avatar Full Package.

That one was self-explanatory.

All four elements. Full spiritual awareness. Energy bending. Spirit amplification scaling with chi and growth.

Another spin.

Character Template: Hiro Hamada (Big Hero 6)

Job Class: Innovator

"The Innovator class alters your brain chemistry," ROB explained. "When inventing, you'll have a five percent chance of sudden inspiration."

"And Hiro?" I asked.

"Template overlay. If you're born smart, you'll become terrifying. If you're born average, you'll still surpass Hiro. If you're born dumb…" He grinned. "You'll be slightly above him."

"Smart becomes smarter," he said. "Average becomes gifted."

Fair.

Before the final spin, ROB looked at me with amusement.

"This one's for your item. You might receive something divine."

He paused.

"Or a banana for breakfast."

I swallowed and spun.

The wheel turned.

Stopped.

Item: Allspark (Modified).

A thrill ran through me, followed by unease.

Even with all this… it still wouldn't be enough. Not in the long run. In the Marvel universe, true monsters lurked in the shadows of the cosmos.

Even Thanos without the gauntlet would be a nightmare at the Sage of Six Paths level.

"You have enough karma left for one small wish," ROB said. "No more spins. And don't forget the Devil Fruit."

My thoughts raced.

I reviewed everything.

Spirit/Yin?

Covered — Dojutsu, Haki, Avatar Spirit enhancement.

Body/Yang?

Otsutsuki traits. Peak One Piece physique.

Elements?

Avatar covered fire, water, air, and earth.

Taking a deep breath, I spun for my Devil Fruits.

Logia: Goro Goro no Mi.

Paramecia: Magnet-Magnet Fruit.

Zoan: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.

******

My heart pounded.

"Can I combine all my powers?" I asked.

ROB's expression sharpened. "Not with the karma you have left."

"I figured."

I met his gaze.

"Is it possible at all?"

ROB paused. "Yes."

"How?"

ROB studied me for a long moment.

"By paying a price," he said quietly.

"Your memories of this life. Names, faces, and personal bonds will blur. You will remain yourself, but without any anchors to your previous life that might draw the attention of beings you are not ready to face."

I clenched my fists.

…Then nodded.

"Excellent," ROB said, smiling.

He clasped his hands together.

"Chakra. Chi. Haki. Lineage Factor. Allspark."

The air distorted.

"They will fuse into a single cosmic force, something uniquely yours."

He paused.

"Let's call it… Chakra Force."

The name settled heavily in the air.

"Benefits?" I asked.

ROB winked. "You'll know in due time."

My imagination ran wild over the future potential of Chakra Force, and how a white silhouette with no features could blink, smile, or wink.

Was this cognitive misdirection, or were those expressions being projected directly into my mind?

The roulette suddenly began to shake.

Hairline cracks spread across its surface.

I felt a terrifying pressure bear down on my soul.

ROB didn't move.

Golden light poured from the shattered wheel, wrapping around me like chains, then sinking into my very being.

Pain. Weight. Transformation.

Behind me, ROB exhaled slowly.

As the roulette collapsed into nothingness, a faint golden halo peeled away from his body and followed the soul into the void.

ROB staggered.

Then laughed.

"Finally," he muttered, voice hoarse. "That cursed treasure is broken."

Darkness swallowed my vision.
