Synopsis
The Russian Empire, despite being one of the most rapidly industrializing countries in Europe in the early 20th century, ultimately fell to communism. This effectively condemned its citizens to a life of suffering. After the collapse of the USSR, the Russian Federation has come to be ruled by a single elite group of people: an oligarchy. A true pity, to have squandered a nation with such immense potential, possessing all it could ask for; the most fertile of lands, numerous resources, and a large population. And as life would often have it, Fate is a fickle thing. Tsar Alexander II, known for his cautious reforms, has become a man transformed. His days are now filled with a strange, frantic energy as he races to build railways, modernize the army, and confront those who oppose him. Those who know him say he is genius. A man beyond his time. Those who don't, a madman. And his enemies? A Nightmare. Can he be trusted to guide the nation to greatness? or will he tear the Russian Empire apart?

Chapter 1 - Prologue

"The Civilizational cycle, is anyone here familiar with it?"

Asked a middle-aged man with slick black hair, glasses, and a suit.

As his question reverberates throughout the classroom none of the students raise their hand, Disappointed he starts explaining before noticing a student sitting in the far back raising his hand.

Seeing this a smile inadvertently forms on his face as he selects the student.

"You there, In the back."

The Student stands up, starting to speak.

"The civilizational cycle is a theory suggesting that strong men rise out of chaos and disorder bringing order and prosperity, then that prosperity lasts for a while as their descendants still remember the period of chaos, but as time passes the memory of the past slowly fades and gets disregarded. The civilization starts on a path of decadence, inequality rises, Marriage and birth rates drop, until a breaking point. Where all havoc breaks loose, and central authority breaks down with chaos and disorder everywhere. So strong men appear to bring order and the cycle repeats."

After hearing the students explanation the professor applauds.

"Indeed, you are correct, although it is a lot more complicated than that, The world is after all constantly changing, but the basic premise is correct. You will get extra credit for your answer"

The student receiving the extra credit looks happy, While others around him groan, regretting that they didn't step up.

"Alright, Stop groaning, the class has ended. All of you are dismissed."

After saying that, he leaves the class to get in his car.

Finding this day particularly tiring he immediately starts driving home.

Looking out the window he enjoys the red orange sky, The beautiful fields, The occasional sight of birds, As well as a bright flash in the sky?

Looking a bit closely it seems to be getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger.

before a realization dawns on him.

"Oh Fuck m-"

"BOOM!"

A meteorite crashed. Into him specifically. Killing him.
