Chapter 1 - 0: A formal Greeting

"Welcome."

The shaded man had repeated once more to the confused group of people in front of him.

"Mr.Walpurgis, Mrs. Walpurgis, Mr. LD, and lastly, Father Nacht."

"Father Nacht eh?"

A vitally youthful man who was draped in an azure toga underneath a blue and white two-piece had clapped, his amused gaze lingering on the newcomer who spoke.

"Thats funny, quite funny! They called me Saint Leibe back in my day."

A woman who stood close by to the man with the casual attire of a salary man had suddenly began speaking in a shy confusion.

"So... Your telling me, that we all come from different times? A-and that there's 74 people that are in this creepy place as well?"

To this response, the strange man had pointed to the sky, and the floor, simply checking the situation that had fallen onto him.

"Ahhh... Don't be scared. Haha, I won't bite. Maybe."

Responding, the salary man walked forward, ignoring the woman's pleas. Throwing his hand out, he smiled, a deadpan-grin.

"So, they call you Slug in these parts."

Slug's brazenly blue hair had followed the brick stone floor as he walked towards the salaryman.

"So, what'll it be Mr. Walpurgis? Fancy a handshake?"

But as he handshaked, Slug wasn't looking at this salaryman, but to the side.

A old man with gray hair, and a cane had been watching this interaction from the distance, and yet,

"Auaghhh!!?"

This old man with the pastors outfit looked down to his hands as he always did while walking, but those wrinkles he had grown so used to were no longer there.

"That must be the reverse age process here..."

Mused the man with the glasses, and black hair. He had sardonically smiled towards these other four.

As Mr. Walpurgis took his hand back, the sneaky fox-like man had walked in, his glinted glasses walking in between them.

"Welcome you say?! This place is nothing but a eternal hell, hell!"

He further continued, hastily,

"Look out there! All there is are towers, and the sky even if you look at the top or bottom! What the hell did I just walk into?"

The now young man with his gleaming blonde hair and brown eyes walked in, chiming,

"Truly amusing. To think that such a steadfast man would see the truth so clearly! This is not heaven, but a devil's trick!"

He had nodded with his finger.

Slug, continuing merely said,

"1 Slug, formerly Saint Leibe. 2, Keirish. 3, The Walden. 4, Jules. 5, Grim fruits."

the confused men simply paused their talking and looked back at him in confusion.

"We are all looking for a way to go home. That's how it has always been. We've all been stuck here."

He shrugged calmly, before pointing towards the brick-like towers walk ways in this sky-land.

"You could walk all over and never get bored. There's always a tower with something unique to it, whether it be its RVE, or size, or anything else."

And everything he had said was true. He had given truly great information in this place.

"For those who reside this tower, let me rephrase to you in a more sensible order,

I slug, formerly Saint Leibe

II keiresh

III The Walden.

IV Jules.

V Grim Fruits."

He snapped, while continuing.

"Each one of you have a insignia, an emblem in your soul that ranks your arcanas. I just listed the first 5 arcanas, the first being me."

And showed a card in his hand that held a card of a man with a finger pointing up and down.

"I am The Magician."

As a glowy-haze like aura flew besides him for a moment, he laughed to himself, saying,

"It's no parlor tricks. It's the real thing. Each one of you hold such a nobility in this place."

They live in an a world of unending stack of towers and minds are always on a decathlon to find the exit.

The two who had been arguing to him had been confused, and fearful, their gestures in mid-place.

The woman who was clinging onto Mr. Walpurgis had sneakily moved to the back, and simply watched.

Yet.

Mr. Walpurgis took it quite lightly, he had thought that this was something similar to a paradise, a nice place to lull around.

Mrs. Walpurgis too, held a faint smile like him, but in the corner, something more faint rested in her smile.

She had hid a sardonic tinted gaze, mused Mr. Walpurgis looking at her in the corner.

So, the endless tower. Numbers appeared on each tower, with those long brick bridges.

Mrs. Walpurgis had been a little cold, due to the Cold air coming in from the exits of the tower.

After gaining his composure, LD had pushed up his glasses, restarting.

"So, why are these called towers if we are only on the top floor? Isn't there supposed to be... Y'know, like a bottom?"

To this, Slug sternly glared at him, his aura emanating a dangerous, and not visible, but very clear presence.

It was as if some magical presence had pushed everyone down.

"Whatever you do, do not break the floors of the towers. There only lies a true hell for those who do."

The young man in robes, Father nacht laughed to this, shouting

"And the devil's spawn tells us how to leave! How amusing, demon with those tainted magicks!"

He had ignored his body's visceral warnings, and had shouted out those lines.

"So be it. I'll let you tempt your own fate with hell."

He turned away, waving off as he took off towards the east bridge of the 4 exist of the tower.

Without anymore, he had simply sighed.

Mr. Walpurgis understood this sigh deeply, it was one that held a certain tiredness to it, as if he had warned many before.

"Wow... He seriously just left like that?"

Stopping in his tracks, Slug had left one last line to them before completely disappearing into the white-sky fog.

"If you walk around, you should be able to meet more people. Just know... They aren't so kind. Haha."

And so, the group of 4 came together, clamoring on what to do.

"I should clearly be leader, I am the wisest and lived the longest in here!"

The old man had shouted to the group, with his cane waving.

"Shut it, old man! I clearly hold the virtues to carry this team with diligence!"

Those two were in a fierce competition, yet the Walpurgis's had simply watched from a short distance, and eventually,

"How about a majority vote, then?"

Chimed in Mrs. Walpurgis, with quick, hasty tone.

"I agree to this young lady, surely a competent leader is one voted by the masses!"

"Sure! Let's decide it with these two!"

And Mr. Walpurgis simply looked at her and nodded.

Immediately, the two had pointed towards LD.

"What in the holy mother of Deus?! You damn kids should understand what type of decision you're making!"

While the young man with black hair simply looked back, his glasses shining, and a cocky smirk building.

"Heh! It's been decided then! I shall be the leader!"

"Damn it... So be it, so be it!"

And so, LD was voted as the group leader, and without wait, pointed towards the west exit.

"Let's depart from here, and find some people!"

He said while taking a piece of candy from the table.

The first one who made it there, was Mrs. Walpurgis, then Mr. Walpurgis.

After eating that piece of candy, LD had followed.

They had all started walking on that bridge connecting to the next Tower, yet when they looked back, Father Nacht hadn't moved.

"I-I'm staying here. I will break out of here."

They had simply walked away, the old man fading into the fog.

"What a loud old man!"

LD had shouted, stretching as he made it in front of the two.

Mr. Walpurgis had looked around, and a ephemeral feeling of coolness hit him.

That slight-fogginess, and beautiful, sea-like sky that hit from the top and bottom.

The towered lands bridged with each other, what beneath those towers, pure sky, and above, also pure sky.

Shall these residents of XVI meet their untimely doom, or will they escape back to where they belonged?

Not one of those foggy individuals knew.
