Chapter 1 - Hell Managemen

Today is the 13th day since Woo Manyeo woke up in this dilapidated hell filled with the sulfurous stench left behind after fireworks have burned out.

He had long known that sooner or later he would end up in hell.

After all, he was both arrogant and greedy.

It's just that he never expected the environment of hell to be so…

Sloppy.

That was the only word he could use to describe it.

The lava pools of hell looked as though they had fallen into disrepair for years, going "puff… puff… puff…" as they intermittently spat out reddish-brown molten lava.

On the gallows beside the lava, a half-dead soul was bound to a cross while perfunctorily crying out, "Ah… it hurts… hurts… ah…"

Each cry was spaced three to five minutes apart.

This was because next to him was an even more perfunctory execution demon who is lying on a rocking chair swaying slightly and absentmindedly swinging a whip wrapped in lava and sparks.

Woo Manyeo's brows instinctively furrowed.

With that kind of work attitude, under his management, they wouldn't last a month before having all their performance docked and being dismissed in one swift process.

Back when he was still human, every employee on his team had been just as relentlessly hardworking as he was.

Woo Manyeo had always deeply understood one principle: he wasn't born rich, had no background, and certainly had no heaven-defying ability to change the greater environment.

His only path was to adapt to it.

If he didn't desperately climb upward while he was young, was he supposed to wait until he was over 35 and get "optimized" by the company?

So he worked day and night, pushing himself to the limit and successfully climbing into management, preparing to lead a team of equally driven members to even greater heights.

Climbing and climbing… until he suddenly dropped dead from overwork.

Even he himself hadn't expected it, he had actually worked himself to death!

It was just a pity about the apartment in a first-tier city that he had finally managed to secure through sheer effort and the project he had been working on. If that had been completed, it would have meant a complete leap in social class.

Did he regret it? Not at all.

Even now, he couldn't control his mind and constantly thinking about who would take over that project at the moment of his death.

That was just how intensely driven he was.

The fact that he could stand here right now was proof of it!

...

Thirteen days ago, Woo Manyeo relied on a powerful belief—"I, Woo Manyeo, will never be worse than anyone else"—and firmly stepped on countless souls as he struggled his way out of the hell.

The moment he crawled out, before he could even adjust, an overwhelming and irresistible force slammed him flat onto the ground.

That force seemed to pin every part of his body firmly in place and no matter how much he struggled, it was utterly useless.

But in Woo Manyeo's dictionary of life, the words "give up" did not exist.

His pride would not allow him to give up.
