Chapter 7 - The First Deal

"To that brother."

"To that brother."

The others in the tavern followed and raised their glasses together.

Only Enzo rubbed the parchment scroll in his hand and fell into deep thought.

No one knew that he had run into trouble in his life.

He had been unemployed for half a year already.

If he could not find a job soon, he would lose his house.

Not to mention that just a few days ago, his wife had been confirmed pregnant and carrying their third child.

He simply did not know how to bring it up to his wife.

He had always shared good news but not bad, unwilling to trouble others, so when he encountered difficulties, he would always try to figure out a solution on his own.

This time, he truly could not hold on anymore, which was why he planned to bring it up to his friends today and see if they had any job opportunities to recommend to him.

Enzo took a gulp of strong liquor and sighed inwardly.

He really could not have imagined that as someone from a perfectly decent middle-class background losing his job would turn his life into this.

This damned economic environment!

Listening to the sound of his friends clinking glasses, he told himself to try it just once, just once.

If nothing happened, then tomorrow, once he sobered up, he would call his friends, throw away his pride, and ask them for help.

At this moment, he lay on the field ridge and staring at the unknown man who had appeared out of thin air at the crossroads.

Before even the next day had arrived, half of his drunkenness had already been scared away.

When he cautiously spoke and saw the man turn his head revealing those completely black eyes, the remaining half of his drunkenness vanished entirely.

He was not human!

He was definitely not human!

Humans do not appear out of thin air!

Nor do they have entirely black eyes without even a trace of white!

Was he going to die?

Enzo began to blame himself.

Why did he have to do something so absurd?

Why did he value his pride so much?

Why would he rather try something like this than directly ask his friends for help?

A gust of night wind passed and he shivered all over, wishing he could disappear on the spot.

"Are you the one who wanted to make a deal? What do you want?"

An extremely impatient male voice suddenly sounded right next to Enzo's ear.

It was very close, so close that he could even feel a tingling sensation on his earlobe.

"Ahhh!"

Enzo screamed in fright. He scrambling and rolling to the side as he shouting incoherently, "Help! Help! Someone help me! No! Oh God! Save me!"

Woo Manyeo saw the demon Diomedes appear behind the bald man. He then bending down with clear mischief as he spoke right next to the man's ear.

The moment he heard the bald man cry out to God in panic, he immediately became alert and considering whether he should return to hell first.
