Chapter 1 - THE OLD SOFA OF A YOUNG MAN

The Old Sofa of a Young Man.....

The old sofa in Aarav's room was ugly.

At least, that's what everyone said.

Its fabric was faded, springs weak, and one corner slightly broken. It didn't match the walls, the lights, or the version of life Aarav kept imagining for himself.

But still… he never threw it away.

Every night, after pretending to be "fine" in front of the world, Aarav would come back, drop his bag, and fall onto that same sofa. It didn't ask questions. It didn't judge his failures. It just… stayed.

When he failed his exams, it held him.

When he got rejected from jobs, it held him.

When he smiled for others but cried alone, it held him.

Years passed.

Life slowly began to change. Aarav got a good job. A better house. A better life—the kind people post about.

And yet… the sofa came with him.

One day, his friend visited his new apartment. Clean, modern, perfect. But there, in the corner, sat that same old sofa.

"Why are you still keeping this?" his friend laughed. "It doesn't fit your life anymore."

Aarav looked at it quietly.

Then he said something no one expected—

"It's the only thing that knows I didn't always have this life."

Silence filled the room.

Because behind every "successful" person…

there's something old, broken, and unnoticed—

that carried them when they were falling apart.

And not everything that looks worthless…

is easy to replace.
