The Beginning of Everything: The Dawn of a New Era
This is a story from an ancient era of Bharat Varsha. The great war of Mahabharata took place approximately 5100-5200 years ago (around 3100-3200 BC). This narrative unfolds at the end of that great war, precisely when Lord Shri Krishna prepared to leave his mortal body.
Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, descended to Earth in various incarnations to destroy evil and protect righteousness (Dharma). His ten primary incarnations, known as the Dashavatara, include Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, andParashurama, Rama, Krishna, and Buddha, with Kalki yet to arrive at the end of the Kali Yuga.
According to the Vedic timeline, Bharat Varsha transitions through four Yugas: Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and finally Kali Yuga-the age in which we live today. Sanatan Dharma is eternal; it existed even before the universe was manifested by the holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
The Departure of the Lord
As the Dwapara Yuga drew to a close, Lord Krishna ruled over Dwarika for 36 years. However, due to the curse of Mother Gandhari, the golden city was destined to be swallowed by the ocean. During his final moments, Shri Krishnatraveled away from Dwarika to a serene place known as Bhalka Tirtha. There, he lay beneath a tree in a state of deep meditation (Dhyana Mudra).
It is a divine parallel that both Lord Krishna and Lord Buddha (the 8th and 9th incarnations of Vishnu) left their physical forms while in a meditative posture.
While Krishna rested near a quiet pond at Bhalka Tirtha, a hunter named Jara spotted something shimmering from a distance. Mistaking the Lord's lotus feet for the eyes of a deer, Jara aimed his bow. At that moment, Shri Krishna smiled, knowing his divine play (Leela) was reaching its climax. The Hunter's Sorrow
The arrow pierced the Lord's foot.
When Jara rushed forward and realized he had struck the Lord of Dwarka, he fell to his knees in agony. "O Lord! What have I done? I have killed Dwarkadhish! Please forgive me!"
Shri Krishna looked at him with compassion and said, "Do not blame yourself, Jara. This is my Leela. In the previous Treta Yuga, you were Baali and I was Rama. I struck you from behind a tree; today, I complete that cycle. Everything happens according to my will."
As the Lord prepared to ascend, a single drop of his divine blood fell into the pond, where it was consumed by a fish. Soon after, the five Pandavasarrived at Bhalka Tirtha. With heavy hearts, they took the mortal remains of Shri Krishna, unaware that they were about to witness a series of events that no one could have ever imagined.
