It was a beautiful day outside, the sunbeams dancing across the place, the trees moving gently in flow with the wind and birds flying up in the golden-like sky while singing and chirping soothingly. Two girls were sitting on a bench in The Grand Park Of Shainihebun, a melodic paradise to hang out in. A girl with dark yet comforting purple hair and intense golden hypnotic eyes, a pale rosy face and a beautiful yet crazy smile, wearing a wide-brimmed hat, high necked structured bodice, a long skirt and lace-up black boots— while the other girl had blonde hair, wore a school uniform, had red eyes and a very grumpy mature face. The witch-like girl looks over at the blonde girl and says:
– Huhuhu! I have heard that a new child is going to come by to work along us, I heard she is born with quite the talent!
– Yeah, I have heard about her. The blonde girl says, turning her red eyes over the crazed looking girl. Heard she has a talent of creating jewelry out of nothing. Sensei said that she has a lot of potential with her ability.
And she was right. The girl's name was Igarashi Chiyo, a thirteen years old rich girl. She had silver hair, a light rosy face, and eyes as green as shiny emeralds. People would usually come to her store and buy the jewelry she made and Chiyo would get the money she deserves, causing her wealth to be surprisingly high.
A few days pass after the conversation between the two girls and Chiyo joins The Varyashim Orders, an organizations where people work as warriors, their main targets to kill being demons. The Varyashim Orders treats their workers with a place to live in and food for the breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, warriors are also paid by killing these demons.
Her master, Miyasaki Tomoko, leads her to the class and as she steps through the door, she is welcomed by a group of 15 students, including the witch girl who's name was Nagamine Rika and the blonde girl named Nagamine Etsuko. Chiyo looks at the class with a mix of nervousness but also enthusiasm as she finally talks:
– Nice to meet everybody, I am Igarashi Chiyo and I like to sing, draw and I also love eating delicious stuff! As for my dislikes, I only hate gossipers.
– Oh so she is one of those goody two shoes... a boy called Kobe Saburo whispers towards another boy as they both laugh like idiots.
Their master looks at the class and says with a firm tone:
– Today we won't do classes and I will let you get along with each other this hour and then you can all settle back in your rooms, have a good day, She says as she leaves out of the classroom.
Immediately, the classroom is filled again with the voices of children, the majority of the students being focused on one thing only, Chiyo. Chiyo walks towards an empty seat that is beside Tsukishiro Kowamaru's, a Velkarin¹ (They are human hybrid demons basically). Kowamaru had white hair with little horns, pale skin, black demonic eyes but a cute innocent look, he was very slim and he was usually considered the shy kid in the class. As Chiyo reaches the empty seat, she look at Kowamaru and asks:
– Hi, could I take a seat beside you? She asks with a warm tone. Kowamaru looks at her and nods:
– O-Of course you can! Go ahead and sit.
– Thank you! Chiyo replies as she turns her chair behind her and sits down, facing Etsuko and Rika. Rika makes her usual sly widen and psychotic smile and decides to speak first:
– Oh my, so the famous girl decided to talk with the likes of us... how delightful!~
Etsuko looks over at her sister Rika lazily and says:
– Don't be too weird, Rika... You have a habit to freak out anybody you speak too...
– Alright alright! I will make sure to be less intimidating~... Rika says as she leans into the table closer towards Chiyo and staring into her eyes with her sly smile.
– Don't be intimidated, she is usually like this. Etsuko says with a hint of reassurance.
Chiyo blinks, grateful for Etsuko's kindness.
– So what are your names? Chiyo asks with a hint of interest in her expression. Etsuko and Rika look at each other satisfied and decide to introduce themselves, the blonde girl speaks with her usual laid-back nature:
– Name is Nagamine Etsuko, although you may find me someone "cool" to speak to, so you know... most of the times I am too lazy to chit-chat...
– Such a boring way to introduce yourself, dear~... Rika affirms in a sly tone with her usual wide smile, this girl was giving Chiyo the chills a bit... "What's up with her?" Chiyo was thinking to herself.
– Oh shut it and give me a break... Etsuko replies as she just leans back into her chair lazily.
– Alright Alright... my name is Nagamine Rika, sweetheart... and I am the blondie's sister, it will be so fun now that you have also joined the party~
As Chiyo keeps hanging with the sister, Saburo comes by to talk with the new classmate too, he makes a polite yet... awkward smile. He had brown hair, seemed quite muscular and he was usually the clown in the classroom.
– Heya, new classmate! I am Kobe Sabu—... but he chokes up on his own words comically as he slowly glances at Rika, usually intimidated by her, raises his arm and points at her and outrageously shouts up: THE GHOST GIRL IS HERE TOOOOOOO!!!!! And quickly runs away, stumbling on the ground mid-run. Rika looks at him and giggles mischievously. Etsuko sees the ridiculous scene too and sighs and mutters:
– What a painnnnnn...
Chiyo also sighs and then looks back to her side at Kowamaru and curiously asks him what is name is. He turns around nervously and responds with a hint of hesitation:
– My n-name is Tsukishimo Kowamaru... a pleasure talking t-to you...
Chiyo nods and adds up with her cheerful tone:
– Nice meeting you too! Would you mind if I ask why are you so closed off and nervous all the time? I won't judge you...
– Well... I-I am socially inept... I have no idea on how to s-start a conversation and I get anxious whenever I talk to someone... Kowamaru confesses while fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, feeling very nervous.
– Oh I get it... Chiyo says, understanding him, you can be yourself around me, okay? No need to be shy... she follows up, giving a warm slight smile.
The rest of the day has been pretty fun for Chiyo, especially since she has made very good friends today...
