"Hmph. Look who's here again. That jinx."

"Tch. Even with Uchiha blood in his veins, he's still a stray dog."

"Shh! You wanna get thrown in jail? If those eyes hear you…"

"A traitor's brat. He'll turncoat someday, too. The Hokage is too kind, taking in scum like that."

Qianyu kept his head down, his expression shadowed, as he walked the streets of Konoha.

It had been nine years since he'd arrived in this world. Five of those years, here in the Leaf Village.

In those nine years, he'd gone from wide-eyed excitement to simmering, bone-deep resentment.

Just like those villagers sneered, Qianyu's veins held Uchiha blood.

But the Uchiha didn't claim him.

To preserve their precious bloodline purity, the Uchiha married within the clan.

Qianyu's parents hadn't.

His mother was Uchiha. His father carried the blood of the Senju.

If his father had been a civilian, maybe things would've been different. Maybe the Uchiha would have tolerated him.

But no. His father was from the Senju—the Uchiha's ancient, bitter rival.

When Qianyu's mother was found to be pregnant, the clan head and elders confined her immediately. They wanted the child gone.

His father heard. Slipped into the Uchiha compound. Took her and ran, fleeing Konoha altogether.

The Uchiha couldn't let their blood walk free. They reported it to the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Sarutobi declared Qianyu's parents missing-nin. Sent ANBU hunters.

They still escaped. Found a remote, peaceful village without a single shinobi. They hid there. Qianyu was born. For four years, they were happy.

Those were Qianyu's only good years.

Then the beasts came.

Powerful, monstrous things. The village had no defense.

His mother was forced to use her Sharingan. His father fought beside her. They drove the beasts back.

And sowed their doom.

Shinobi came next. Like hyenas scenting blood, they swarmed, drawn by the promise of a pair of stolen Sharingan eyes.

In the brutal fight that followed, his father died shielding Qianyu and his mother.

His mother, gravely wounded, pushed her failing body to its limit. She carried Qianyu all the way back to Konoha. Begged for sanctuary.

Hiruzen Sarutobi agreed. His parents were missing-nin, yes, but they'd done no harm to the Leaf. And the boy… he carried both Uchiha and Senju blood. Who knew what Kekkei Genkai might awaken? Better to keep such potential inside the village walls.

So, Qianyu stayed.

Sarutobi sent him to the Uchiha compound. Asked if they would take him in, acknowledge him as one of their own.

They refused.

Konoha gave him a derelict shack on the village outskirts. Then forgot about him.

Qianyu didn't care about that, not really.

He understood the feud. With Senju blood in him, the Uchiha's rejection was inevitable.

Back then, he didn't know his parents were labeled traitors. He thought coming to Konoha meant a fresh start. He naively believed that if he stayed away from the Jinchūriki mess, the villagers might be decent.

He tried to build a life.

Then reality smashed it to pieces.

Almost every villager hated him.

He eventually learned why.

Reason one: his parents were traitors.

Reason two: the Uchiha. Specifically, the Konoha Military Police Force they controlled.

At this time, the Police Force had rocketed the Uchiha's prestige and power to its peak. Their job was to maintain order, enforce laws, and arrest anyone with "criminal tendencies."

The Uchiha, drunk on authority, arrested anyone who so much as muttered a complaint about them.

The villagers seethed with hatred.

But the Uchiha were the Leaf's strongest clan. Untouchable.

So, that hatred found a new, softer target: a fatherless boy with no surname, who carried half that hated blood.

Qianyu wasn't Naruto. He didn't have that bottomless well of forgiveness.

Five years in this environment would break anyone. He couldn't fathom how the original Naruto survived it, let alone chose to forgive.

The villagers were one thing. But even Hiruzen Sarutobi wasn't the kind, benevolent figure from Qianyu's memories.

Over the years, Sarutobi had seen Qianyu being harassed, bullied, spit on. More than once.

The Hokage would glance his way. Then look through him. And walk on.

Slowly, a cold certainty hardened in Qianyu's gut: Sarutobi's kindness was an act. A mask.

Konoha was a cage.

But he couldn't leave.

The village would never allow it. And even if he slipped out, he had no power to survive on his own.

As much as he despised the place now, it was still the safest spot for him.

He had faith he could change this. A fierce, stubborn faith.

Not because of his Uchiha or Senju blood. With only half of each, he might never awaken the Sharingan or Wood Release.

His real hope was a system called 'The Witness'.

Witness events. Earn Points.

But to activate it, he needed 100 starting Witness Points.

In five years, he'd scraped together only 50 Witness Points. He'd earned all of them three years ago when he entered the Ninja Academy and witnessed Minato Namikaze's enrollment.

The other 50 Witness Points stayed stubbornly out of reach. His pariah status in Konoha kept him isolated, locked out of any significant events. And in this fragile peace, years before the Third Shinobi War, there were few events to witness.

But now… an opportunity.

Soon, Kushina Uzumaki would arrive in Konoha. She'd transfer into the Academy.

If he could witness her enrollment… that should be worth another 50 Witness Points.

Then the system would finally awaken.
