Chapter 1 - Prologue

Deep inside the vast flat plains of the woods the sounds of owls chirping and crickets making their happy little voices, was the sound of fast and vigorous running of a young teenager. You could hear the hard heavy breaths of a teenage boy sprinting for his life through the dense and seemingly endless forest. His panting was laborious and painful, his lungs burned and hurt like needles. It was almost like he was injured because in fact he was. His right side was bleeding slightly with a sound of squelching coming from it. Whatever attacked him had hit his liver but didn't go fully through it, because there was a small silver short blade sticking out like a spear head with blood covered all over it.

The boy's feet were covered by his black shoes which helped him keep his feet from getting torn apart by the sticks and leaves, but also the various sharp objects that loomed around the area. The boy could hear the sounds of running and he turned to see a tall black-attired man with a white mask chasing him with his shining yellow eyes that seemed so large with such a strong pressure that it frightened the boy even more making him run even faster. The masked man sped up almost catching the boy, but the boy grabbed a nearby branch off a tree and swung at the masked man hitting him and knocking him over. The boy was extremely afraid and scared, it felt like his body wanted to curl into a ball and cry. He couldn't even express how much dread he felt at that moment because all he could feel was pain and agony. He was hungry and tired after running all over the forest for 25 days killing animals that shouldn't even be there like bears or larger than life wolfs etc.

After about an hour of running he found a deep cave and walked inside. The cave was large and it felt like it stretched for miles upon miles of endless darkness that seemed to stare back at him with such a gaze it terrified the boy. Several minutes later which felt like hours the boy heard the soft sounds of breathing or chanting that sounded like breathing. He turned a corner glance to the right making sure he wasn't seen. He could hear the sounds of something sleeping with bits of loud snoring so the boy shined his flashlight that he pulled out from his belt around his waist, down towards the dark hall. There was nothing. The boy sighed in relief and glanced to the left shining his flashlight in that direction. However before he could even shine it the sounds of footsteps were heard behind him. The sense of dread and fear struck him like an anvil so the boy turned off his flashlight and stuck to the wall. The boy was enveloped in pure darkness, and when he tried sticking out his hand there was only the vastness of air and dirt. The boy muttered a word of encouragement to himself as the steps got closer and closer; he could see the faint white color of the masked man who chased him all the way to the cave. This made the boy start to hyperventilate and he tried sliding across the wall rounding the right corner. He heard the footsteps stop and the boy stopped breathing. There was only pure silence and the boy could hear the sounds of the masked man calmly breathing, but then the masked man started laughing loudly with such intensity that it echoed throughout the entire cave. Then the masked man spoke in a bone chilling deathly deep like voice saying "You know. It's never a good idea to walk in a cave full of sleeping animals." The boy was shaken by the voice staying stock still and unmoving. The masked man spoke again "Hmm, just know that I own this forest and that the animals are my pets. Oh! I just realized that my people are here in this cave watching your every movement. This entire place has cameras all over the cave inside and out. I can't see the cameras but I know other victims who've done this before. It never goes well. So why don't you come out Jermey Fritz Gerald." Jermey almost coughed with surprise and fear at this information. Jermey was scared and he knew deep down that if he even tried to take one step forward he would be killed. If only he had listened to his father before disobeying him Jermey thought, however in that moment of pure utter silence was the beeping sound of an alarm clock that echoed so loudly that Jermey jumped in fright. Jermey knew that this was his only chance of escaping because he knew that the masked would be surprised as well so Jermey bolted around the corner and shoved the masked man who yelped in shocked falling over onto the ground with e crackling "Thud." Jermey ran and ran as fast as his legs could take him hoping to find freedom. He wanted this nightmare to end, this endless torture of pain and loneliness. The feeling of being abandoned and rejected. Jermey just wanted his family again. After many minutes he saw the bright shining light of the cave with the brown tall lushes green leaves of the trees with the brown trail and dark green grass and white flowers. He finally made it through the exit of the cave hearing the birds chirping and the smell of pure fresh oxygen, but that sweet taste of freedom lasted only a second as he saw stepping in front of him a slender 6ft man with black attire clothing, a cowboy hat and a white mask. He was pointing a revolver at him with several other men aiming double barrel shotguns at him. Jermey knew the game was over and that he lost. "So!" Jermey said with a down casted and soft smile. "This is where a die, huh?" He continued with a solemn smile taking out a picture of his family. His mother with her blond hair and bright green emerald eyes smiling brightly at the camera, his dad with his awkward smile and black short rough hair and his little brother who's smile was so large you could feel it through the picture itself. Jermey handed it to the man who jerked back out of curiosity. Jermey gestured for the man to take the picture and she cautiously but reluctantly took the picture. Jermey smiled and said in a sad but relaxed tone "Please, tell my family I wish I was there for his birthday party this week." Jermey smiled wildly that started to tremble as tears streamed down his face. He raised up his hand making a thumbs up. "Tell my brother that his big brother was a brave boy!" The masked man looked up with surprise and wonder, but also regret and shame as he raised the gun aiming it at Jermey's head. There was long silence of unspoken words between her and Jermey. This made Jermey smile even wider and he nodded solemnly as the masked man started to pull the trigger. However he quickly aimed the gun down close to his heart but only for at his lungs and almost shot until a voice called out from the tree line behind the group of masked people. "Halt! Times up, go back to the ground house and started unpacking the resources!" A tall large 7.7ft man said who came walking slowly towards the group. He wore no shirt showing off his extreme, curved and harden twelve pack. The man also wore a white mask and a small hat with loose, bulky and gigantic trousers with a white belt and black shoes. He dawn on a large black jacket over his shoulders. The masked man glanced up excitedly handing back the picture to the Jermey and quickly gestured for him to follow man back towards the entrance of the forest. Jermey hesitantly followed the masked man who continued to gesture for him to follow her. It was about after about two to three minutes the masked man decided to speak. "I'm glad you survived. I wouldn't want your brother to be sad and heart broken on his birthday." The masked man said in a Russian voice that was sweet and soft like a flower but warm like the heart. He placed his hands behind his back and glance towards Jeremy with a slight gleam of joy. Jeremy sighed cautiously and stared blankly at her. The masked man's gaze faltered for a moment and she looked away staring up at the rising sun that shown like the lights in a house. "I know you don't trust me and you probably shouldn't, but I didn't want to kill a person who's gonna be late for his little brother's birthday. You should go." The masked Man said turning around and staring at Jermey. You could feel the joy and wonder coming from His eyes that told Jermey he was a kind person at heart, but it didn't subside the fact that she kills people. Jermey nodded and continued down the trail in a hopeful stride, but suddenly a large pack of wolfs walked out in front of Jermey with a masked man standing in the middle of them. The wolfs were growling with hunger, bits of drool spilt out from their mouths dripping onto the ground. Jermey tried to turn around and run back but there was also a bunch wolfs behind him as well. They started to close in and Jermey used his flashlight to swipe at the wolfs but it did nothing and one wolf jumped onto him biting his arm and ripping it to shreds as the other wolfs started to jumo onto him and started eating him alive. The masked man watched as Jermey was being ripped, torn and broken apart by the massive pack of wolfs. Then a group of three bears came along and started taking their share in the feast. The only thing that was heard throughout the forest was the screams of a man whose survival instincts were manipulated in a relief effort for hope.
