Chapter 1 - NEW IN TEMPEST

Tempest High, a prestigious school in Tokyo, welcomed a new transfer student. As the teacher walked in, she greeted the class with a warm smile. "I'd like to introduce our new transfer student," the teacher announced. "Welcome to the class!"

"Oh wow!" "Can't wait to see him or her," the class began to give such remarks.

The teacher nodded. "Okay, you may come in now."

A tall boy with striking silver-lilac hair, sparkling blue eyes and a pointed nose walked in, his face cold and expressionless. His hands were tucked into his pockets, and his gaze was down.

As he looked up, the class, especially the ladies were taken aback by his insane handsomeness. Whispers filled the air: "He's so hot!" "He's gorgeous!"

The teacher cleared her throat. "Please introduce yourself."

"The name's Leon!" Without further details, he walked to the back seat at the right corner, his eyes scanning the room.

As Leon settled into his seat, he noticed a girl sleeping on her desk. He shook his head, thinking, "What a mess! Is this really Class 2A?"

His introduction had left everyone surprised, expecting an outgoing personality instead of an introverted demeanor. Throughout the lesson, Leon remained silent, not uttering a word to anyone.

When lunchtime arrived, he headed to the cafeteria, got his meal, and chose to sit alone.

As he ate, he became the subject of conversations among the students, his new classmates speculating about him.

A girl with vibrant reddish hair walked into the cafeteria, grabbed her food, and headed to sit at the table directly in front of Leon.

The reddish-haired girl had brown eyes and was stunningly beautiful. Many students adored her, and numerous guys had crushes on her, but she politely rejected their advances.

Though she had male friends, she remained open to finding someone special. In her mind, she waited for the one she could truly love.

As she sat, her gaze fell upon the new student, Leon, eating in front of her. Their eyes met, but he continued eating, unfazed.

Later, he realized she was the girl from his class who had been sleeping. When their eyes met again, she skipped a beat, grew nervous, and hastily left the cafeteria.

Leon remained, finishing his meal. Suddenly, a notorious "bad ass" boy from the school approached him.

A blonde-haired boy with reddish eyes, who was also a middle-year schooler in Class C just like Leon. He had heard rumors about the foreigner transfer student, Leon, and sought him out in the cafeteria.

He approached Leon, his face inches away. "Hey, nerd, what's up?" he sneered.

Leon glanced at him, then dismissively looked away, sensing something off about him.

The boy's expression darkened. "Hey, look at me when I'm talking to you!" He raised his fist, but Leon blocked the punch with ease.

His aggressive demeanor suddenly shifted to a jovial grin. "Well, well, well. You're interesting, buddy." He pocketed his hands and headed for the door.

Before exiting, he turned back, his eyes locked on Leon. "I'm Zen. See you later."

Zen's intrigue was piqued. He was drawn to strong individuals, and Leon's calm, skilled response had sparked his curiosity.

Leon thought, "What a weirdo," after his encounter with Zen.

The school day ended, and Leon headed home.

On his way, he stumbled upon a group of gangsters camping. They blocked his path.

"Hey, dude, you've got balls to enter our territory," one gangster sneered.

Leon ignored him, but another gangster yelled, "Hey, where do you think you're going? Can't you hear him talking?"

One gangster swatted Leon's bag away, and another punched him to the ground. A girl appeared, trying to help Leon up, but the gangsters grabbed her.

"You're stupid to get involved," the leader sneered, harassing the girl.

Leon recognized the girl from his class, the one who had been sleeping.

The gang leader slapped her to the ground, knocking her unconscious.

Witnessing this, Leon's expression darkened. Despite his cold exterior, he still had a spark of kindness.

"Are you furious?" a gangster mocked. "What can you do?"

"Escape while you can," the leader added.

"Run?" Leon said with a hoarse voice, looking below as he clenched his fists with veins popping out his hands like corded steel. "Hey, did you..."

Before the gangster could react, Leon punched him, knocking him out.

The remaining gang members rushed Leon after their leader fell. He dodged the first attacker and delivered a swift strike, slamming him into the wall.

Next, Leon grasped the face of the second attacker and slammed him to the ground.

A swift slap sent another gangster crashing down.

Finally, Leon unleashed a spinning kick, connecting with the chin of the last attacker.

The kick sent him flying backward, hitting the wall with his back before crumpling to the ground, unconscious.

"Sniveling pests, know your place!" Leon thought as he looked at them with rage.

The lady regained consciousness, finding Leon standing beside her with his back turned. Her head ached, and she surveyed the scene.

The gang members lay defeated around her.

"What the hell? Did you do all this?" the lady shouted.

Leon ignored her, preparing to leave.

"If you're fine, just head home," Leon said coldly.

"But we haven't even introduced ourselves yet," she protested.

"That's not necessary," Leon replied.

"But I haven't thanked you yet," she insisted.

"I don't need your thanks. Just leave," Leon yelled, walking away without looking back.

The lady gathered her belongings, feeling sad and uncertain if she was the reason for Leon's anger.

As Leon walked, he sensed someone watching him from behind a wall. Investigating discreetly, he found his younger brother.

"Hey, Theo," Leon called.

Theo, a six-year-old with striking bluish-silver hair and piercing purple eyes, hid behind the wall. He also shared a striking resemblance with his brother.

"Hey, I know you're there. Come out," Leon said firmly.

Theo had to come out since his brother had already seen him. He emerged with his head bowed, feeling guilty.

"Hey, why are you bowing, buddy?" Leon asked.

"I felt guilty because I snuck up on you, brother Leon," Theo replied in a low tone.

"Raise your head up, Theo," Leon said with a gentle smile.

Theo lifted his gaze, and Leon continued, "Good boy. Now let's talk."

Leon's expression turned playful, and he asked, "So, what brings you here?"

"I came with friends, but I lost them," Theo explained.

"Let's head home," Leon suggested.

As they walked, Leon inquired, "What did you see back there?"

"I saw you with a girl," Theo replied.

"Aside from that," Leon pressed.

"You beat up those guys! You're like a hero, brother!" Theo exclaimed.

Leon chuckled. "Don't mention this to Dad, okay? You know he hates fights."

"I won't tell, brother Leon," Theo promised.

Leon patted Theo's head, grinning. "Thanks, buddy."

Theo beamed with happiness, secretly thrilled to have seen his brother with a girl.

As they left for home, Theo couldn't help but feel proud of his brother.

At home, they had dinner. Afterward, Leon left with his dad to their respective rooms, leaving Theo and Alice, their older sister, together.

"Get down for a sec," Theo whispered to Alice.

Alice leaned in, curious.

"Leon was with a girl today," Theo whispered.

Meanwhile, Leon relaxed in his room, lying down.

Suddenly, Alice burst in.

Leon sprang up.

"What brings you...?"

"I need to talk to you about something," Alice chipped in.

"Something important?" Leon pressed.

"Yeah, about the girl you were with this afternoon," Alice revealed.

"What's this about?" Leon demanded, confusion and suspicion etched on his face. "Who told you? Theo right?"

"Ye-ye-ah!" Alice gave a slight stammer.

Leon's eyes narrowed, "I knew it, that talking brat!" he thought. "So what if he did? Is there a problem with you talking to a girl?" Alice asked.

"I've waited so long for you to notice someone else. You've only talked to me."

Leon interrupted, his tone sharp. "Enough Alice!"

Realizing his intensity, Leon calmed down.

"Alice, you know this. I can't love anyone... any girl, except you. You're the only one I'm comfortable with, the only one I trust," Leon confessed, his voice cracking.

He sat on his bed, his head bowed.

"I was betrayed by someone I trusted deeply. It ruined my life."

"Hey Lilin, (a nickie she usually calls Leon) it's okay, I understand, but when the time is right, you'll eventually fall for someone and when that time comes, don't resist," she said as she patted him on the head.

He rose up quickly, "I told you to stop calling me that name and I'm not a kid so don't pat me on the head!" he yelled.

"Hehe, I'm still your big sis, so I can nickname you and pat you on the head," she smiled.

Leon gave her a serious stare and told her that nothing is going to stop him from achieving his goal.

"Okay, I'm leaving now, goodnight!" Alice said. Leon watched her as she left.

The next morning, Leon was ready for school. "Hey, Theo," he called.

"Yes, brother Leon," Theo replied, running to him.

Leon squatted and held Theo's shoulder. "What did you tell Alice yesterday?" he asked, his face stern.

"Nothing," Theo said, frightened, before darting off to his room.

Shaking his head, Leon left for school.

Upon entering class, the girl he saved yesterday greeted him. He responded gruffly, not hiding his disinterest.

The girl looked unhappy.

Leon walked to his seat, ignoring everyone.

Just then, the class top scorer, a tall boy with black hair and golden eyes, entered. He wasn't in school the previous day. He was popular among the girls, but Leon's good looks surpassed his.

Greeting his classmates, he sat far from Leon, unaware of his presence.

Leon thought, "Is this him? He hasn't changed a bit. That punk!"

Considering the top scorer friendly, Leon decided to greet him properly later.

The science teacher arrived, announcing a surprise test. Students panicked, but Leon thought, "Perfect way to give him a proper greeting!"

The test ended, and Leon glanced up to find the girl he saved yesterday approaching him.

"Hey, how was the test?" she asked, attempting to make amends.

"Fine," Leon replied harshly, cutting her off.

"Okay, I just hoped—"

"Mind your own business and stay away from me," Leon warned, standing up.

He pulled out his phone and left the area, heading to the school store for snacks.

After snacking, Leon returned to class. The test results were posted on the notice board, drawing a crowd.

Leon bypassed the commotion and entered the classroom.

The class' top student, known for consistently ranking first, approached the board.

Today's results stunned everyone: "Leon Klaus" topped the list, demoting the previous top scorer to second place.

Everyone in Class 2A was stunned. "Leon Klaus? Is this a mistake? How did I not notice him in class?"

The top student thought and hurriedly entered the classroom, puzzled.

"Simon!" Simon turned and saw him, shocked. "Long time no see, buddy. Haven't changed a bit in all these years," Leon said.
