Chapter 1 - Prologue

More than a thousand years ago, the great organizations of planet Earth spotted a mysterious asteroid that suddenly changed course. Now, heading toward Earth, the asteroid threatens the life of all humanity.

Humans tried everything in their power to stop the asteroid's advance, but unfortunately, they failed. They used nuclear bombs and an entire space station. The result was disappointing. The asteroid did not change its course in the slightest. Humanity's attempts to stop it did not cause a single scratch.

Human beings were about to see their end.

A few hid in bunkers, others in the depths of caves. The vast majority looked up at the sky in silence with their loved ones.

They understood that this was the end of the world.

On April 27, 2074 AD, the asteroid Calem, a hundred times larger than the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs, struck the center of Peru, a country located in northern South America.

The asteroid sank into the earth instead of evaporating, remaining completely intact, but proving even more catastrophic for the planet.

The shockwave created by Calem devastated the entire planet. Ash rose into the sky and covered the sun, causing an almost immediate winter. There was no vegetation left on the planet. Most animals became extinct, and the waters were contaminated with the mysterious remains of the asteroid.

However, strange as it may seem, amid all that disaster, like cockroaches, the humans who took refuge survived. They were very few compared to their numbers before the impact, and there was no hope that they would survive the apocalypse.

They emerged from their caves and bunkers only to find a catastrophic landscape. The sky was dark. The earth was scorched and had become infertile.

In addition, there were disastrous earthquakes that split the earth into large expanses.

Desperate, the survivors faced the disaster with everything they had to survive. They fought and ate each other. They traveled for months to escape the earthquakes, but a mysterious disease awaited them.

They all fell ill at almost the same time. The symptoms of the disease were too dangerous. Hallucinations, deadly fevers, malnutrition, vomiting. The symptoms continued to worsen over time, as if all the diseases known to humankind had come together in one.

The weakest died, unable to bear the suffering of the unknown disease. The strongest lived a little longer until that day.

About seven months after the impact, strange creatures emerged from the rubble of the former Earth. They were deformed, hideous, and dangerous. Aberrant beings with mystical powers that were beyond human comprehension.

These mysterious creatures began hunting the few remaining humans. They killed them using their mysterious powers. Some summoned terrifying shadows, others grew plants that crushed and killed. The most dangerous were able to lift things with their minds and destroy mountains.

One thing was certain: humanity was powerless against such a threat.

With fear and the thirst for survival increasing, humanity fled and hid. The landscape outside the caves and bunkers continued to become more apocalyptic. Things that only happened in movies had become real before the eyes of the survivors.

Huge snowstorms lashed the earth. New land, air, and sea beasts emerged from nowhere. Humanity could no longer endure.

Extinction was imminent. Disease had already claimed the lives of more than half of the survivors. Once there were two million, now there are less than a million. If it wasn't disease, it was nature, or the aberrant beasts, but one of those things will extinguish them at any moment.

But in the darkest of pits, there can always be a ray of hope.

One of the aberrant monsters attacked a small group of people.

Armed with stones and scrap metal, as if they were cavemen, this small group of humans fought the beast. There was nowhere to escape, so all that was left was to fight.

The monster was shaped like a huge dragon, more like a giant slender insect. The dragon easily crushed most of them, but one man refused to die. That man rose from the ground with his body shattered, displaying a mysterious strength that caused the beast to retreat.

The man threw a powerful punch at the beast, and the beast disintegrated in the air.

His muscles became massive. A dark aura covered his body, and a deep rage filled his heart. His companions looked at him with tears in their eyes.

They looked at a savior born in the apocalypse.

When the man manifested that mysterious strength, he was strangely cured of the disease...

Thanks to that, humanity understood that what was killing them was not a disease, but a weapon they could use to become strong. They called it a Psychological Virus, a disease that is cured by manifesting the power of the strongest emotion that dominates the human heart.

Some awakened their power by feeling deep anger, others by feeling very sad or scared, but it was always the same pattern.

People's hearts are dominated by a single emotion. That emotion is what makes them strong. Thanks to that, humanity began to confront the Aberrations, destroying them all without mercy.

They advanced for centuries, reforming society and humanity with the knowledge they had prior to the Asteroid's impact. And as they explored the planet, they understood that what they were observing was no longer the planet they knew. After the disaster, this was their new home.

They called it Terra, the home of the Asteroid that almost wiped them all out, but also gave them the opportunity to improve themselves as a race. Nothing remained of what existed before except for stubborn humanity, which refused to disappear with all its might.

That effort paid off, and today humanity thrives in the new world.

This story is about our emotions and how we grow through them. Our emotions can be our strength, but also our weakness.

I'm sure you are also a being with emotions. So you will probably understand...
