Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Sold Out

"Hey, slave. What are you doing there? Get your ugly-looking self down here immediately.

We need to go see the Alpha at this moment.

One of his staff showed up yesterday and invited us over for a special assignment," Kelly Parker roared at Fiona like a wounded tiger.

She had just completed most of the house chores, despite retiring to sleep the previous night in starvation.

He despised Fiona and treated her like a piece of trash. Nothing about her ever mattered to him anymore.

Living with Kelly was hell for her. Life was completely meaningless.

Every day, she wishes to just take her life and end the everlasting torment.

"I was home the whole day yesterday, and no one showed up. What time was that? I could have missed that part," Fiona protested.

She doubted the integrity of her stepfather. She was home all day yesterday and could swear no one showed up.

Somehow, Fiona feels Kelly Parker might be up to something mischievous.

"You're in no position to argue with me. Do you think I'd lie to you? I know what I'm talking about." He cautioned her, disregarding her question.

He asked her to get dressed.

He doesn't want her to be seen looking like a slave before the Alpha. His yell was enough to instill fear inside her.

"I don't intend to argue with you.

This isn't the time for that. Can you wait until I'm done with the house chores?

The Alpha's quarters are a long-distance away. I might collapse before we arrive there. Can I please get something to eat? I'm starving." Fiona pleaded as she frowned her face.

Her robust neck had suddenly become thin. Her skin was gradually fading away like the evening sun.

She's just in her early twenties, yet she looks older than her age.

"Damn you, Fiona." Kelly slammed the wall out of frustration.

He warned Fiona never to refer to him as her father.

."One more word from you and I'll feed your remains to the vultures. We are not related in any way. Don't you dare question my authority. I would rather not repeat myself." He forcefully grabbed Fiona by the arm, almost hurting her.

He doesn't give a heck if she perishes in starvation.

He was only concerned about the five thousand dollars he'd receive from Alpha Kane after selling Fiona.

"Yes, sir," Fiona obeyed and dashed back inside to freshen up.

In a few minutes, she was outside looking slightly better than the last time. Even though she looked skinny, malnourished, and pale.

"This is what I'm talking about." He applauds her transformation.

He asked her to lead the way, but she protested. Everything seemed strange to her.

"I haven't been to the Alpha's quarter before. How do I possibly lead the way? We might get lost. I suggest you stay in front while I follow." She went against his command. As though that wasn't enough, she frowned and folded her hands.

Kelly Parker was speechless.

The sun was gradually setting in.

Aware of the vow he made to Durella the previous day, Kelly Parker didn't argue or drag words with her.

He simply pointed to the front and spoke in a soft tone. "Lead the way."

Immediately, she obeyed as though she were controlled like a robot.

Halfway through the Alpha's castle, Fiona became exhausted and pleaded for them to return home.

She immediately fell to the ground and cried out. "I'm thirsty. Please get me water to drink. I might die of starvation. Please help me. "

"Stop being lazy like a tortoise and walk like a human. You are dragging us back." Kelly commanded with a shout.

"No, I can't. I don't mind how the Alpha feels right now.

I need to rest a bit. I'm so exhausted right now. I can't do this anymore. Do you wish me dead?" Fiona refused and remained on the ground.

"Okay, fine. You win. I'm not even arguing with you this minute." Kelly agreed for the first time since Fiona lost her mother.

He gives her five minutes to rest. She has never, not once, disobeyed his orders.

After a few minutes of relaxation, Kelly Parker stretches his hand. "Be on your feet,"

"Wait a minute. Why are you so interested in meeting the Alpha? You look so excited and desperate.

Is there something you are not telling me? What are you up to?" She raised the doubt.

"Me?" He points to himself in disbelief.

"The Alpha invited us to work for him. We both know how important this money is to us. Enough of the questions already. Would you get up and continue this journey with me? The sun is out already," yet again, he brainwashed Fiona with more lies.

She frowned her face and stood up from the ground as they proceeded with the journey. She couldn't detect his lies and pretenses.

"Here we are. Stay right here and get some rest. I'll just go inside and notify the Alpha of our presence," he instructed as he gestured to Durella's room and announced his presence.

"Where is she? Take me to her immediately." Durella, the Alpha's Beta demanded.

"Hey, not so fast. I fulfilled my promise; how about you do the same?" Kelly Parker initiated.

"Promises? What the heck are you talking about?" Durella fumed. He wasn't a fan of silence.

"I see you already forgot. Hold on a second. I'll remind you. You might be missing out on something.

Where's my reward for fetching Alpha his trophy?" Durella stretches his palm to receive the bundle of dollars.

"Now you got what you wanted. Don't you dare play games with me! Take me to her immediately." With a boiling temper, Durella requested violently.

"Take a chill pill while I lead the way. And please, Fiona deserves to be pampered like Luna.

I know how aggressive the Alpha could be, but please, Fiona is too fragile. Now come with me." Kelly Parker leads Durella to Fiona.

"There she is. Pretty, huh? She's all yours now!" He pointed at Fiona and walked away smiling, knowing his mission had been completed.

Durella ensured Fiona was well monitored while he went to call Kane.

Several minutes have gone, and neither Durella nor Kelly Parker have returned.

Fiona was scared and worried at the same time. No one told her it would turn out this way.
