Then 15 years ago
A dark and gloomy night. Like some other nights in Forks,Washington.
The Adell family is a family full of lawyers or in the justice business. Adell&Co is the name of their legal firm.
For the last ten years their family has been growing and growing with different business opportunities.
Some aren't all good, some aren't all bad. But the children of the main family considered this a bad business opportunity because it simply ruined their vacation.
Little Lavender Eleanor Adell was the only daughter of Maverick Adell and Isabella Adell.
The rest were four boys. They had finally gotten their girl.
Isabella Adell was born in Scotland and married Maverick Adell. Her maiden name was Isabella Clark.
Maverick Adell who went to study aboard at Glasgow had met Isabella there and fell in love.
So they married and had four children which is why Maverick is the only one out six who doesn't have a Scottish accent.
The children were born and raised in Edinburgh,Scotland and now were on vacation in Washington.
"Out of all places to choose why Forks and now were leaving early". Said an annoyed 16 year old MJ who was the oldest of the four boys.
"Silas wanted to go see the twilight stuff, it was a vote majority rule". Said 13 year old Stephen.
Stephen, Silas, and Samuel were triplets all aged 13. MJ which was short for Maverick jr was the oldest and little Lavender was nine years old.
"You guys always win because your triplets". MJ says.
"Lavender"? Stephen said, pointing at Lavender. "Lavy goes with whatever mother says which she wanted to go camping too". MJ said.
Little Lavender was quiet most of the time, occasionally joking around with Samuel who was the youngest of the triplets.
But Samuel was too preoccupied with his phone. While the other three siblings were busy fussing over the family vacation.
Usually Lavender would get into the car with the children being lead by her other brother MJ in which she had no say so in the matter but unfortunately he was too busy arguing with Silas and Stephen and forgetting about her.
So Lavender stood there with her watermelon umbrella and yellow hunter boots that didn't match her green princess tiana outfit.
"Lavy"! Her mothers voice said scooping her up. "Why are you standing here in the rain". she asked. "MJ didn't grab me this time". She giggled.
Isabella looked to the car that had all the boys. For some reason that day she decided to give the boys their space instead of looking over the youngest even though they would come and steal little Lavender away from their mother later.
The rain began to beat hard upon the windows of the car. Passing by the trees lavender placed her hands on the window making marks. Drawing little doodles.
They all sat in the back of the black SUV. Mrs.Adell busy going over papers with her secretary. Mr.Adell busy looking at his own paperwork.
Then the car suddenly made a big pow sound and was shaking. Making everyone in the car but the bodyguard and Maverick jump.
"What's the matter?". Maverick asked the driver. "I don't know yet it sounds like we hit something on the road". The driver and bodyguard got out circling around the car.
They stopped at the back and a couple minutes later came back into the car. "Everything alright"? Isabella asked. "Tired blew out, we definitely hit something in the road". The bodyguard answered.
"I'll call for help". The driver sighed. "Would they be able to find us in all this rain"? The bodyguard said, looking at the darkness around them.
"At least we'll have time to look over this paperwork". Isabella sighed. Everyone went quietly back to their work. The only ones talking being the bodyguard and the driver.
Lavender sat playing an imaginary game of the rain drops having a race on the car window.
Running her brown little fingers over them. Seeing which one would win this race. Her big brown eyes were now appearing dark brown due to the darkness outside due to the rain and dark do the night.
Her curious eyes spotting something in the distance swaying left to right. She frowned, not understanding what it could be.
Quietly little Lavender spoke and tugged at her mothers coat. "Mother". She said Mrs.Adell did not hear her because of her conversation with her secretary.
"Mother" she said once again. Her eyes widening from understanding what it was now that she was seeing.
"Mother, I think someone's in trouble". she said again. "One second Lavy I'm busy". Mrs.Adell answered.
Lavender had realized that it was a car swerving in the road. Its lights were getting closer and closer and now her brown eyes were lit up by the headlights of the car as it swerved into the other side of the lane into the grass.
"MOTHER A CAR"! Lavender screamed as it hit them.
All lavender could hear was ringing and flashing lights. Faintly she started to hear something. Something blood curling and then she realized it was her mothers screams.
And something wet on her she didn't know whether it was from the rain or something else, maybe her mothers drink perhaps?
She didn't know she simply drifted off to sleep.
In the hospital bed lay Lavender. Wires and tubes hooked up to her. All but her and the bodyguard suffered no injuries.
"She's a child so her body is more fragile than an adult". The doctor said, "as for the bodyguard he was simply close to the impact of the hit".
Now 2024
Now an older Lavender sat in a doctors office staring at photos on the wall of didn't parts of the body.
Mostly of ears and the brain and her mother Mrs.Adell sat in a chair to the right of her typing away on her labtop.
Lavender didn't seem bothered by this; she just simply looked around the room. Her hair brushing her back every time she turned her head to look at something.
Her mother noticed and looked up at the young girl. She had on this all white baggy jogging suit with a brown shirt under it. With this brown platform shoes.
Her coat was also a brown plaid winter coat. Paired with a brown little purse.
Her hair was poofy from the snow outside but it looked as though she had curled it before she left the house.
She rubbed her espresso colored hands together. Her mother thought she was cold and waved to Lavender to get her attention.
Signing with the hands. "Are you cold"? She signed. Lavender shook her head. "No, I'm just hoping I won't break this pair of hearing aids". Lavender giggled.
Her mother put on a sad smile. "Well if you get a cold I'll ask one of the nurses to turn up the heat. We don't want you getting sick". She signed. Lavender nodded and stared out the window of the hard snow coming down.
Finally the doctor came in, grabbing Lavender's attention from her reflection in the window.
"Now I know you said you just wanted them to be black this time". The doctor said and signed at the same time. He opened a case of black hearing aids. "But I put a special order in on me". He said and pulled out another case with Lavender colored hearing aids.
Lavender smiled and picked up the lavender colored hearing aids. "I love them". She said smiling. "I changed a few things also so they would feel more comfortable also". The doctor said,
She put the lavender colored ones on and smiled as she looked in the mirror at them.
"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you to school"? Isabella asked. Lavender shook her head. "I'm fine". she signed. Her mother nodded as she got into her car, a mini yellow cooper.
While her mom had gotten into a black Cadillac. Her mom watched Lavender drive off first and then she left.
The car accident made Lavender lose some of her hearing. So she wore hearing aids to help hear although she sometimes preferred to have them off that led her to accidentally breaking them.
She mostly liked to communicate using sign language but that was only with her parents and siblings sometimes with the servants. But mostly with her siblings because her parents weren't around a lot.
Lavender was in her first year of university and unlike all the other Adell children she was majoring in medicine. (Particularly in being a neurosurgeon).
The rest were either going to law school or still figuring it out(namely Silas)
Now the Adell family was one of the sought after Law firms to help with cases.
The Claude family being the most sought after who were in business for years known as an old money family in New York whereas the Adell family was new money.
