Chapter 1 - beginning

In the vastness of space, beyond description,

"Arrghhh!" A roar shattered the silence as he hurtled across the multiverse, moving faster than time itself. A colossal being—or perhaps a concentration of immense energy—with a translucent body radiating a brilliant white aura towered roughly four meters tall. Its voice, deep and commanding, cut through the void:

"Almost there… just a little more, and I will finally see the truth. Everything here… it's all fake!"

He stretched his hand toward a luminous white light that spread across the infinite cosmos. Then, a soft, serene voice echoed gently:

"You are not ready."

The giant's furious cry gradually faded as the light dimmed.

"Why… why? Why am I still not ready?" the towering figure demanded, his tone thick with frustration and anger.

As the being's radiant form began to dissolve, it whispered faintly, almost tenderly:

"I will never forget. Absolutely never. I will not forget."

And with that, the colossal figure vanished into nothingness.

Meanwhile, in a bustling shopping mall, in the toy section, a young man named Kai—with short black hair and neatly dressed—was arranging merchandise and conducting daily checks, his face etched with boredom and exhaustion.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kai noticed a man in a suit, glasses perched on his nose, approaching him. The man's expression was serious but calm.

"Excuse me, young man," he said in a measured tone. "I'm looking for a toy for my daughter's birthday. Could you recommend something? Honestly, I'm at a loss." He crossed his arms, brows slightly furrowed, as though the question weighed heavily on him.

"Of course, sir! I have just the thing. How about this Gundam model kit? I'm certain your daughter will absolutely love it!" Kai replied, flashing a cheerful smile.

"Wow… that's perfect! Exactly what I had in mind," the man said, visibly pleased. Then, after a brief pause, he added, "Ahem… I'll take two, please." His smile widened, excitement tempered quickly into composure.

"Certainly, sir. Thank you very much for your purchase!" Kai thought to himself, Finally, a sale! Now I can top up my game credits… yes! He chuckled quietly and returned to the toy section with a sense of triumph.

When will it finally be time to go home? I've been waiting forever, he thought, glancing at his phone with a faint smile. Two more hours…

As Kai left the mall, he passed his manager at the exit.

"Hey, Kai. Heading home already? You're always late coming in, but punctual leaving, huh, kid?" the manager said, his voice stern but subdued.

"Ah… yes, sir. I'm leaving now," Kai replied nervously, a bead of sweat forming on his temple. Unlucky… running into the manager right at the exit. What rotten luck…

Walking back to his apartment through the evening crowds, Kai's thoughts wandered.

Sigh… life is so dull and uneventful. No luck, no girlfriend… just one misfortune after another since I was a kid…

Memories of being bullied in school, abandoned by anyone who could have helped, surfaced. Kai sighed again, his gaze drifting to the left. Through the glass, he saw a group of students eating and chatting happily in a shop.

He watched them with a wistful expression and murmured softly:

Back in school… I wish I had friends like that…
