Once again, Shaun was bored and with nothing to do, as he always was since he became an omnipotent god.
Shaun Park's story is difficult to explain. A simple "normal" teenager from the earth, until he ended up dying when he was run over by a truck.
Soon after, he found a divine entity that reincarnated him in another world with a system like those of manga and anime.
I think we all know what happened next.
He was reborn in a good family, trained from an early age, made friends who accompanied him until the end, discovered that he was the hero of the legend, left on a journey to face the demon king, formed a harem, defeated the demon king and brought peace to his world.
Then he lived a few more years of peace, continued to train and discover more about his system, had a lot of "fun" with his harem, discovered the multiversal journey and began to jump through other worlds forming an even bigger harem.
To summarize this unnecessarily great story, he eventually discovered that he was actually the son of multiversal deities, met his biological parents and his brothers, helped defeat an evil multiversal entity and ascended to the rank of divinity after that.
Now Shaun was an omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient entity in charge of controlling a universe, and perhaps even creating his own universe in the future.
But the problem is: being a literal god is EXTREMELY BORING. He is omnipotent, he can do whatever he wants, and being able to do everything means that in addition to observing the universe he controls, it means that he has nothing interesting or challenging to do.
And besides, the universe he had the duty to control was incredibly uninteresting. It was literally his land without any change, apart from the fact that Michael Jackson never had that skin disease and continued to do shows and songs until 2025. That was the only interesting thing there was in that universe.
Of course, he still had his gigantic harem and from time to time he made some visits to the girls and had some spicy moments with them, in addition to having created a special pocket dimension where all the girls lived and that he could access whenever he wanted, but even this was already becoming repetitive.
If he knew that being a god would be so boring, he would have stayed in his first world and died quietly next to the girls. Now, he had missed this beautiful chance.
Then, while roaring with boredom once again, Shaun got up quickly and a flashlight lit up in his mind.
"I already know! " He shouted excitedly to the empty dimension around him " I will reincarnate someone from this earth in another world " He shouted as if he had discovered the secret of multiversal peace.
According to the regulation of divides (yes, even gods had laws and rules) if a god responsible for a universe or multiverse sent someone from his sector to another world, he had the right to observe that person in his new world, without the right to interfere without direct authorization from the god responsible for that universe or multiverse.
In a few, if Shaun sent from that universe to another world with some random OP power, he would have a free entertainment source to end his boredom.
"Okay, it's time to end my boredom! " He said snapping his fingers and opening a portal, jumping inside it at the same time.
Going out through the portal, Shaun was now in an infinite dark space with a lot of white humanoid silhouettes scattered throughout that immensity.
That was the afterlife of that universe, an empty and infinite space where the souls of the dead stayed until they were purified and used to create souls for new living beings. All the souls there could interact with each other but most don't do that, after all they are dead and just want to have their eternal rest.
Shaun went through some more large and small figures, men and women, until he found the "right" person.
A teenager, no more than 17 years old, who by the fluctuations of his soul, had just died and should only have been dead less than 12 hours ago.
Seeing this, Shaun created a barrier around them to ward off the other souls, rehearsed what he was going to say and when he was done, he appeared in front of that soul apparently out of nowhere, and began his speech.
" Hello my dear and adorable mortal! Unfortunately, you died and at a very young age still. But don't worry, because I, the supreme deity that governs your universe, decides to reward you for your good deeds during your life and I'm offering you the chance to reincarnate in another world of your choice with 3 wishes! So you can already choose the world you want to go to and then we move on to the dese- "
"No need, I'm cool here as I am. You can give these wishes and this chance to reincarnate to someone else, I'm not too interested " Answered the soul cutting Shaun, and leaving him confused before the shock took over his face.
He didn't prepare for that scenario. He was giving the other person the same chance he received in his other life, the chance to go to another world to live adventures and have great powers, and yet the person in front of him was refusing.
Shaun had prepared for various scenarios from extreme skepticism to total confusion, but never such a calm and polite refusal.
Until that moment, he thought that no one in the world would deny the chance to reincarnate. Faced with this, all his posture of almighty and wise god was broken.
"Wait, what did you say? " Shaun asked with his voice trembling with amazement and confusion.
"I said I don't want to reincarnate. You can give these wishes to someone else that I'm not so interested in " He replied to the soul before turning his back to apparently sleep.
But before he could close his "eyes" his body was lifted by some invisible force and he was pulled in the direction of Shaun, who was now even more incredulous.
"Dude, what's your name? " Shaun asked, abandoning his supreme divinity persona for good.
" Um, my name is Marcello" The soul replied without understanding the situation.
"Look Marcello, I'm giving you the chance to be reborn, restart your life in a place more interesting than the world you lived and I'm still giving you the right to wish for anything you want for your new life. And you're still refusing? Why?! " Shaun asked, still not believing the person in front of him.
Marcello raised an eyebrow confused and a little apprehensive by the sudden "explosion" of the divinity in front of him.
"Well, because I died and I accepted that I died. This is the natural cycle of things, being born, growing and in the end dying. It's just the natural order. I died earlier than I should, that's true, but I've already accepted this and I have no interest in having a new life in a world that is not mine " Marcello explained being as respectful as he could with the being in front of him " I don't know what you expected me to say, but I'm not interested in reincarnating and I just want to enjoy my eternal rest in peace. You can give this chance to someone else that I'm not interested in "
At this point, Shaun didn't even have words to describe how shocked he was.
"Did you happen to hear what I said!? I'm giving you to go to another, choose any power you want and maybe even have the chance to build a harem! And you're still refusing!? " He shouted angrily and shocked by Marcello.
"As I said, I'm just not interested and why the hell would I want a harem? " Marcello asked with his arms crossed.
"And you still ask why!? Imagine a lot of beautiful women to die for, with big breasts and ass, all in your bed ready for a very hot session of passion! It's every man's dream! " Shaun shouted even more shocked than before.
" First, I don't have a fetish for breasts or big ass, although I appreciate it just like any man, it's neither polite nor ethical to characterize the woman I'm going to fall in love with for physical aspects. Second, beauty is subjective and my standard of beauty can be very different from yours, so what in your opinion are women who are beautiful to die for can be normal women for me. Third and most important, I'm monogamous. I wouldn't be able to keep several women without feeling that I'm cheating on them and I'm not even interested in having several women in my bed, so one for me is enough " Marcello declared with the greatest calm and firmness in the world.
At this point, Shaun was wondering if this guy had a problem or was just very strange.
"Friend, you must have some mental problem to be denying it. I'm giving you the chance to go to other worlds! Marvel, DC, Worm, or any other world you want! "
"I don't even know Marvel and DC or any other 'world' you're talking about! " Marcello replied already without patience for the unnecessary and too long conversation.
After that, Shaun was sure that this guy had some mental problem.
"How come you don't know Marvel or DC!? They are literally the biggest superhero comic book publishers in the world and you don't know them!? " Shaun asked.
"No! What difference would knowing them make in my life? I'm not a big fan of superheroes so I don't follow these publishers you're talking about " Marcello replied trying to calm down.
"Spare me, do you really want me to believe that you don't know anything about Marvel or DC? You're going to lie to your grandmother! " Shaun said in disbelief.
"Don't put my grandmother's name on it, this good lady has nothing to do with this conversation! And I really don't know anything about these publishers! " He replied trying in vain to stay calm.
"Ahem, are you going to tell me you've never heard of Hulk? "
"I'm sure no one uses that word anymore"
"Really?! I've never heard of the captain America?! "
"This looks like a fascist title..." Marcello replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Dr. Doom? "
"No"
"Spider-Man? "
"No"
"Darkside? Thanos? Metal? Lex Luthor? Blue Marvel? Sentry? "
"I've never heard of any of these"
"For God's sake, now you're going to tell me that you've never heard of Superman or Batman either? " Shaun asked in disbelief.
"I don't know these guys" Marcello replied with the greatest sincerity in the world.
Shaun wasn't believing in anything that came out of Marcello's mouth, but he could through his powers that he wasn't lying.
In other words, he really didn't know or knew anything about superheroes.
"Man, do you live under a rock by any chance? How come you've never heard of any of these heroes, and I mentioned practically the most famous heroes in the world? "
"As I said, I'm not a big fan of superheroes, so I've never been interested in researching about them" Marcello replied shrugging his shoulders.
"So you must be one of those guys who demands realism in movies and who criticizes that it's not 'realistic enough'" Shaun accused.
"Man, I'm a Harry Potter fan, I can demand everything in a less realistic movie" Marcello replied with a poker face.
"So you must be one of those guys who keeps saying that manga are better than animes and who says that comics are a child's thing"
"Not even for that. I like manga, yes, but I also read comics "
"So what kind of comics do you read so you don't know Marvel or DC? "
" Many. Ronin island, IDW's sonic comics, Boom Comics power rangers, Assassin's Creed comics, teenage mutant ninja turtles, etc. " Marcello replied.
" Would you rather read these things made for children than read a Marvel or DC story?! " Shaun asked completely discredited.
"Yes, as I said before, I'm not a big fan of superheroes, so I don't read stories about them" Marcello replied wanting to end that conversation soon.
Shaun kept looking at him from top to bottom, perplexed, confused and not believing everything the person in front of him said.
"Man, you're weird. He must be the strangest person I've ever met and look, I've met a lot of weird people. But you? You broke all the records! " Shaun said in disbelief " You don't want to accept reincarnating with a lot of powers in another universe, you don't want to have a harem, he don't know anything about Marvel or DC and you still prefers to read that they aren't even that great or well written. You are definitely the strangest person I have ever met in my entire life " He said still not believing in Marcello's words.
Marcello, already impatient with Shaun's insults and practically boiling with anger, didn't take long to answer.
"The only stranger here is you who says you're a god but you're just a weird nerd who keeps insulting anyone who doesn't like the same things as him and calls weird anyone who doesn't think the same! " Marcello shouted completely angry.
Shaun stopped, looked at Marcello and his whole expression darkened.
Snacking his fingers, he made a portal appear behind Marcello and before he had time to understand what was happening, Shaun kicked his face making him cross the portal.
Then, he made a paper and a pen appear in his hands, wrote something on the paper and sent it through the portal before closing it.
"To learn not to curse a god, let's see how you put up in Marvel, you little shit" He cursed before leaving the afterlife.
