'We need to leave, now' Wesley told his brothers solemnly, the good thing Dirk had just come to so he could walk. Seeing his worried face and Dirk healed without them noticing the presence of healer forced them to listen to Wesley and they ran out of the chambers.
In Desker's quarter, Wesley explained everything that had happened to them.
Desker's quarter was a two roomed quaint place with two chairs and a stone table with some unknown potted flower seated in the middle of the table.
The other room was blocked by a door and no one knew what was inside it. The place had the touch of a woman in it and if Wesley had not known Desker, he would have though another woman was living here.
'May be Shren comes here sometimes' Welsey pondered. As he was wondering over Desker's intimate affairs, Desker asked him to describe the girl who had healed Dirk. He did so but Desker kept having a frown on his face.
'She doesn't look to be anyone I know, may be Shren would know her. I will ask her when I see her.'
'Why should we mind about a healer. She saved my life' Dirk raised his brow and questioned Wesley.
He hesitated and turned to Rum and Desker with a questioning look, they nodded in acquiesce to the unasked question and let him explain the situation. 'I know she saved your life but look at this way, second and first do not remember anything of what happened in that room and yet you were healed.'
'But if that is the case, why do you remember her and they don't?' Dirk asked in bewilderment and waved at the two.
There was a worried look on Wesley's face 'that, I also do not know why?' he answered and frowned as he remembered the girl's parting shot.
'She seems dangerous and since she can make us lose our senses like that, we should avoid her and try not to get injured a lot in our battles.' Desker said in finality and shot Wesley a look.
He did this for Wesley, anyone as strong as that would be very keen on knowing how their technique was broken. She would look into Wesley for that he was very sure.
They all nodded in agreement at that and moved to their quarters and as Dirk was leaving, he paused and thanked Wesley for saving his life.
'Don't worry third, you would do the same if you were in my shoes. Just rest up a bit and wait until first brother calls us again.' Wesley smiled and patted Dirk on the shoulder.
Back in his quarter, Wesley was still worried about the situation. 'strength, if I was stronger I would not be in this passive situation. I need to go to shren' and on that thought, he walked out.
….....
First ring, one of the rooms in the spire.
This was an elegant room fit for for a queen. A woman with a frown on her face was seated on one of the elegant chairs with a tea set placed on a wooden table but it was untouched.
The door to the room shimmered and the girl Wesley was worried about entered. She paused as she saw the woman inside her quarters. Rein was surprised to see her and the same time angry at the intrusion but she did not show it on her face.
'I thought I told you to stop using my room as if it were yours?' she quipped at the woman in a cold voice as she sat on one of the chairs and looked at the woman. She looked miles away from the healer Wesley had met.
'And for the whole the time you will be in this city, I will continue to do as your father requested of me. Its for your own protection' the woman stared at her impassively.
Rein snorted at that. She wondered who was brave enough to attack her in this city.
'As you have seen, I am fine so please leave miss Vane and may ask you a question that has been troubling me for a while, what would a woman of your status be doing in such a city?' Rein asked as Vane was leaving.
'I am here on the orders of the Old man. There is a banquet being held by the city lord in two months to welcome warriors from vine city. I heard you were troubled by someone from that city, I hope you know what to do.' and with that parting remark, Vane left her room.
'Are they following me, but no one knows of my presence apart from my father and this poisonous snake of a woman." she muttered and had a worried look on her face.
….......…..
At this time, Wesley was asking Shren if there were better training techniques.' there is one but it costs a thousand credits.' Wesley frowned at that. He had not expected techniques to be so expensive.
'I can lend you the credits if you are low.' Shren offered. Wesley looked at her in surprise, he knew she was doing it for Desker's sake but he had yet reached that point of borrowing especially from his brother's woman. He finally stopped hesitating and made a decision .
'Do you have a private space we can chat. I have something I can trade with for credits'
Shren stared at him in surprise and wondered what a green horn like him had anything valuable for trading but seeing the conviction on his face, she let of go her hesitation and agreed to see what he had.
'Ok, follow me' she turned and waved at Wesley.
