Chapter 1 - CHAOS WARDEN

"Lord Klekk, a chaos warden is heading our way," an orc ran into the chariot.

In the chariot, a goblin was sitting calmly on a golden throne.

Surrounding him were two catfolks, their furs pale white.

They fed him fruits, their bodies half naked.

The goblin jumped up, the fruits spilling from his rage and abrupt jump.

The catfolks kneeling around him twitched their eyes when they heard the word.

"Can't you handle a chaos warden?" Klekk snarled.

"Lord Klekk," the orc knelt with a knee, planting an arm into the floor. "It is an upper chaos warden with a horde of 200."

"It is just one kill away from the next rank," Klekk muttered with disbelief.

The already tense cat skipped a heart beat.

"I don't want to die," one screamed, already running towards the door to escape.

Klekk looked at her, then at the orc that stood rooted in the floor. Without a word, the orc lunged at the cat.

His fist flared brightly with aura as he got closer to her, breaking her legs with a single punch.

The cat released a loud wail as her bones made a cracking sound. The orc carried her with her two arms, and flung her to Klekk's side.

"You make a move, and you would be like her," Klekk pointed at the other cat.

"My mother is waiting at home," she said, tears already forming in her eyes."

Klekk shrugged nonchalantly. "Does it look like I care?" He turned to the orc, his gaze steady.

"Release the slaves in the cage to slow them down," he said, his tone dropping.

The orc's eyes widened, a heavy breath escaping his lips. "But Lord Klekk, the slaves were bought with most of the guild's finance. I am not sure we would be able to handle the loss."

Klekk looked at the orc, his eyes flaring with anger. "If you weren't this useless, would I have to bear a loss like this?" He asked coldly.

"You would be the one to pay for the loss when we reach the guild," he said with a harsh voice.

The orc nodded, not daring to disagree with his boss.

He went out of the main carriage.

The carriage he just stepped out of was made with golden wood that glittered brightly under the sun. Runes were drawn beautifully around it. Pulling it were 2 beautiful unicorns as white as snow.

Behind it were 5 carriages. Made of ordinary wood and steel. Each had 2 grey horse to pull it.

Standing in front of the main carriage were his team mates. Two elves, a human and a goblin.

"Release the slaves," the orc's voice thundered, louder than when he was facing Klekk.

His crew looked at him with furrowed brows, their eyes twitching in surprise.

"Toran," the male elf archer called out. "That would be too much just for a chaos warden."

Toran, the orc glared at the elf. "Mort, that was Klekk's order. Do you want to go against it?" He asked.

Mort's lips curled to say something but nothing came out.

The crew members went closer to the biggest chariot that looked like a cell. The human brought out a key from his pocket, and pushed it into the huge padlock that held the cell together.

With a loud click. the padlock was released. "Stephen, are we really going to do this?" The beautiful elf asked, her voice shaken and her voice grim.

Stephen looked at her with a calm gaze. "That was the order, Maya. I can't go against it."

Maya looked at him, tears dropping from her eyes. "Why do they have to be sacrificed for us to live, the chaos warden isn't even that close yet. If we move at full speed, we will be able to enter the next city."

Stephen did not answer her again. She was new to the wilderness, exploring it more would shift her mindset overtime.

Ron walked into the cell with Stephen, while the rest of them guarded the carriage from outside. The slaves were thrown out one after another, each one tied with ropes on their legs and hands.

Maya's tears flowed faster as she saw them, but she held her staff steady. But she noticed something when she looked around, Toran was no longer beside them. The crew members also noticed this.

Their eyes instinctively turned towards the golden chariot. The chariot had started to move, and the craziest part was that the other carriages had been destroyed already.

"Toran, you crazy bastard come back here," they heard the desperate cry of someone. Looking down, they saw their master, Klekk rolling on the floor with difficulty.

"What are you looking at? Chase that idiot," he roared with difficulty.

They looked at him, then at themselves before finally looking at the carriage that had moved several meters away from them.

In the chariot, Toran's smile boomed across. "He thinks he can use my pay to keep himself alive, he might as well die."

The other cat was sitting next to him, her clothes off completely. His hand raised to grab her breast, squeezing them like a balloon. She released a silent moan as his hands grabbed her.

"He thought he could have it all to himself," he muttered, sinking himself in the pleasure from the cat's breast.

In the crews side, they had already accepted their fate.

The chaos warden swallowed them in its chaos flames.

Stephen stood rooted in place, his sword hanging calmly on his back. The figure of a girl dancing in the field flashed in his mind for a moment before the flames covered him. "Liya, We will finally be together," he said as his ashes flew away.

Morten looked at Maya, a smile covering his lips. "I love you," he said as he evaporated.

Maya looked at him, tears streaming down her face as she saw his fading body. "You fool, you never told me anything."

Her body also disintegrated into nothingness as the chaos flames swallowed her.

Ron only looked at the remains of his previous crew members, a smile tugging his lips. "To think that I was betrayed by the only person I looked up to," he muttered.

Klekk's only thought was about his gold and concubines as the chaos legion trampled on his head.
