7am, in the morning.
I stood before Davina's door listening to her gentle breathing, unable to walk in and get her up to see the man who almost laid his hands on her. Shawn had said she struggled to sleep even while he was in bed with her.
And now that she had at least gotten a wink of sleep, that damned Alpha had requested to see her before leaving. I was only glad that he would be gone for two weeks but what lay beyond that timeframe was unknown.
The brothers and I were at risk of losing our lives and Davina would have to deal with a selfish mother and a gruesome Alpha.
Time was ticking and I had to push open the door and sure enough, she was nestled in between the sheets and as I approached the bed, a rare genuine smile spread on my face.
Smiling was my therapy, the only way I could keep the monsters in my head away but with Davina, there were no monsters. The voices in my head would stop mocking me but I dreaded the deep thoughts in my mind.

As I sank into her bed, she moved, eyes fluttering open, "Uriel..."
"Did I disturb you?" I sank further into the bed, kissing her forehead lightly.
"No..." She smiled. "I knew you were at the door for a while."
"Really?" The side of my lips raised even more as I trailed my eyes down her face, to the naked body within the sheets.
"Were you waiting for me to creep into your bed?"
"Something like that..." She moved closer, gluing her body to mine, and her small moans followed. Groans of delight as she forced herself into my neck, taking in my scent. "You are so warm."
"I never want to step away from you."
My eyes blinked, hands itching to grab her harder, "Should I make that possible?"
She raised her head, her brows raised, "What will happen to Shawn and Ethan then?"

But I had one way to go, just a way to have her alone, "Today at school, I will come find you."
"What are you planning?" Her eyes dimmed, clouding with questions but I ignored them as I pulled her from the bed.
"Get up. The Alpha wants to see you."

"Why..." She stuttered.
"He is leaving soon." I shrugged. "Just say goodbye to the monster and keep a considerable distance from him."
"Don't worry, we will protect you."
She pursed her lips and nodded before climbing out of bed. I realized a lot had changed between us all. A day ago, she looked at us with doubt, unable to comprehend what she felt toward us. But now, she trusted us just like we wanted her to.
