SHAWN
My eyes locked on Zayne, with my fists clenching beneath the desk. If looks could kill, I would have struck him down a thousand times but then he didn't notice the killing intent in my eyes.
He didn't notice I was about to bury him six feet beneath the ground.
My eyes were always thin, cold, and deadly as if I wanted to end the world with a snap of my fingers. Before Davina came, that was my utmost desire but now, my desire was to end that bastard.
"Shawn?" Ethan's voice echoed in my head. "Don't do anything irrational! We have to keep it low."
"That bastard dared to put his hands on her. I have to see this every day while you guys don't. It's hard."
Ethan and Uriel couldn't refute it after all, the Alpha had made sure to place us in different classrooms for whatever reason. However, they could feel my rage, burning brighter than hell itself.
I went silent for a while, the hot blood flooding my veins wouldn't let me sit still, fueling me even more while I saw him laugh with Aria and Hera.
Those two would meet their doom soon enough but then Zayne was my target today. As Mr. Conrad stepped out of the class, my feet moved, ready to shake the floor on which he stepped.
"Wait for me." Uriel's voice resounded in my head, chilling but with a playful hint. "Are you just going to catch a prey without me?"
My lips curled, eyes twinkling for the first time. I had to remind myself again that Uriel was a maniac, a silent one, and deep within me, I knew he was much more dangerous than I was.
I stood back, holding onto my smile, and in that moment, Aria turned to look at me and her eyes brightened.
"Look!" She gasped. "Shawn is smiling!"
She skipped toward me, sporting a demure look, "I always knew you would be much more handsome when you smile. Why did you keep it—"
"Aria!" Zayne came marching, his hand snatching her and pulling her away. "We were talking about something important."
He glanced at me, his eyes dripping with malice.
"What's more important than Shawn?" She frowned, peeling his fingers off her.
"Me." His veins bulged in his head as he pointed at himself. "I am your fucking boyfriend—"
"No, you are not!" She snapped, her face scrunching with disgust. "We are just friends and I never agreed to your proposal."
In that moment, the class erupted, everyone booing Zayne as his face slowly burned with shame.
However, I liked the drama.
Seeing the class' top bully shivering before Aria was thrilling. I thought they were close-knit friends but it turned out their relationship was as fragile as an egg.
Zayne couldn't let her have the last say. No matter what, he needed to regain his image before everyone.
"So, it's Shawn you want?" He sneered.
"Of course..." Aria blinked her eyes, as her cheeks turned rosy. "Everyone here knows we are the best match."
As she spoke, she tried to touch me but then, I shifted, with my brows creased. I was clearly disgusted, my eyes shooting a warning at her.
The next second, Zayne burst into a peal of mocking laughter, and it bounced off the walls, making everyone shift uneasily. The class went quiet with Aria glaring daggers at him.
"Why the fuck are you laughing?" She screamed.
"Huh?" His laughter slowed down. "Can't you see? The bastard without a family doesn't want you. Aren't you fucking ashamed?"
Aria glanced at me, her eyes wide as saucers. There was a slight quiver in her body when she looked at me. She took a step back and Zayne followed too.
I stood upright, with my eyes sweeping all over the class before landing on him. My smile had disappeared, replaced by a coldness forged from deep within a deep-seated rage, curling into their spine.
"What did you say?"
Zayne swallowed, his eyes darting. All his henchmen had disappeared from behind him and even Aria and Hera were already ten feet away.
"Why are you all acting so scared of him?" He snapped, even though he was slowly stepping back. "He is fucking bastard, with no origin and place—"
Clang!
It was like a flash, the wind carried a well-rounded rock and it wheezed past me going straight for Zayne's forehead. In a second, blood had dripped down his head with the rock pressing into his skull.
My head turned, feeling a bad premonition as I set my eyes on Uriel.
"You all are so noisy! Keep it down, will you?" He delivered his words, with a wide smile on his face, looking innocent as ever.
As Zayne wiped off the blood on his face, tears already clouding his eyes, he pointed shakily at Uriel, "Did...did you do this?"
"Who else?" Uriel shrugged. "I was just passing by and I couldn't stand the sound of your voice. You sound like a frog."
Instantly, the class burst into loud laughter, hands pointing at Zayne and some even dared to throw whatever they could lay their hands on. It was funny how the tables had turned, just like what had been done to Davina.
But it wasn't enough. Even with the rock lodged in his head, he was still standing and only had fainting spells.
I signaled Uriel and the smiling maniac lured him out with a mocking sneer. Zayne followed, gullible and fueled by a blind rage. He had no henchman to help him and he was definitely walking into his doom.
And while they all gathered, laughing at his pathetic state, I slipped out, cornering them both in the most secluded part of the school.
Uriel stopped, turning to him with his lips curled in a smile borne from hell. His eyes weren't the innocent and warm ones, they burned with thirst for Zayne's blood.
"You are so brazen." His feet moved, closing in on Zayne. "You followed me all the way here..."
"You bastard..." Zayne seethed. "How dare you! Do you fucking know who I am?"
"Yes?" Urile cocked his head. "Zayne Steele, your father is an elder in the Pack."
"Yes! Then you should fucking know not to play with me—"
"Too bad..." I chuckled from behind him, and his head snapped in my direction. "We don't fucking care about your father."
Before he could form his next words, my fist collided with his jaw, snapping it. The jarring sounds of his cracking bones and the rock spitting out of his forehead were carried with the wind, giving me pure satisfaction.
"Wait..." He coughed up blood, his body swaying and his knees collided with the floor. "You can't hit me—"
Uriel did the next blow, his feet mashed on Zayne's chest, targeting his heart. The thick metallic scent of blood filled the air as his body rolled on the floor, his heart rate picking up immediately.
We closed in on him, our builds towering over his ragged self. In that moment, our eyes flashed as our wolves were already on the surface, begging to be let out to tear the bastard apart.
"Who...are you?" He crawled on the floor, his blood following his trail. "Let me go, please..."
He moved, rounding the corner and as I raised my leg, to render the last blow, I halted. A large foot kicked him right in the head, sending him a few feet away from us. We stopped, as he lay on the floor, lifeless with blood dripping down his head and mouth.
Uriel and I looked up to see Ethan stepping out of the corner with his lips twitching amusedly. The sight of Zayne excited him, after all, he unleashed his pent up anger too.
"You both were going to do this without me?"
I shook my head as Uriel smiled, "Of course not. We saved the last one for you."
Ethan let out a smirk, folding his arms and admiring his artwork, "Is he dead?"
"No..." I hissed, turning away to leave. "But he might die soon if someone doesn't find him."
The brothers followed, not even taking a single glance at Zayne. His death wouldn't move our steel hearts and he deserved worse than death for what he had done to Davina.
As we walked away, feeling pure contentment in our hearts, we heard a sharp footstep and immediately, our eyes snapped in one direction, beholding Aria standing beside a large tree.
She had her hands folded, her eyes sweeping through each of us as she came closer.
"I saw everything...." The sides of her lips curled, with undisguised thrill in her eyes.
