URIEL
"Davina!" I stomped on the door, chest heaving with a burning fury.
I hated that look in her eyes, the disdain in them wasn't a farce. It was deep-seated. And the hurt? She looked like she was burning from the inside out.
"Open the door!"
"No!!" She screamed. "Just go! Leave me the hell alone! I don't want to see you, nor Ethan, nor Shawn! You all are a bunch of players, monsters and you deserve to rot in hell!"
"Davina…" For the first time, my voice shook, eyes red rimmed with tears. "Don't say that."
She was my hope, the only string keeping me away from insanity, and yet, she spewed those words at me?
"Did we do something?" I asked.
Of course, I knew we had done something. Aria had her hands on us earlier and it made my skin crawl like vines. However, Davina didn't know about that, right? The brothers had vowed to keep it between us and we even told Aria too.
I huffed, pacing at her door but she never opened up to me. It was late into the night, and the Alpha's punishment would soon commence. Ethan and Shawn were back in their rooms, already thinking of a way out.
But I happened to come across Davina when she arrived.
My feet moved, as I called on my brothers and a few minutes later, we met in Shawn's room. I closed the door behind me, narrating everything that happened.
They could feel the despair I carried and the way their faces fell, I could feel their fear too.
"I think this has to do with Aria…" Ethan muttered.
I nodded, but then, I was conflicted, "But where did she go throughout the school time?"
We all stared at each other, clueless and we felt incompetent. We vowed to protect her but we held no sort of power. The Alpha suppressed us even with his absence.
I glanced at my watch, "We have ten minutes to spare."
I didn't need to say another word as we all filed out of the room, rushing to Davina's door. It was locked as expected, but we had all planned to break it down and bring her out.
We couldn't let her continue to wallow especially when we knew nothing of what had happened.
However, we heard thumping footsteps, and our stomachs dipped. Five guards had appeared, their faces a mask of steel, with cuffs in their hands, ready to take us away.
They bowed at us, with no other words. We knew what they wanted already, and their feigned show of respect was a stark contrast to the evil in their hearts.
They followed the Alpha's command to the letter, and wouldn't mind if it was hurting a person, a child, or even and even a weak maid.
I swallowed, glancing at the door. This could be the last time we ever get to speak to Davina. Binding us with silver chains could lead to eternal death and our mate would be left alone.
We could rebel, fight against the guards, and stab their throats but in the long run, we would end up with the short end of the stick.
Every single guard or warrior would rise up and fight us to death, as long as they could uphold the Alpha's order.
We moved, and when they had turned away, I slowly slipped my phone under the little gap at the door.
This was my last resort to speak to her, if we had to die.
A few minutes later, we were out of the mansion and the metal cage was in sight. The guards were holding onto the silver chains that were thick like vines even though they burned into their skin.
We had our hands stretched, ready to the chained.
However, we heard a scrunch. Footsteps echoed in the open air, and our heads snapped in that direction.
But then, it was a veil of darkness, with a figure that ran across, going deeper into the dark night. It could have been a guard on duty or a maid, but then, I hoped the last resort I had would work.
The next second, we heard the clicking sounds of the chains around our wrists, and our fates had been sealed.
The burn that shot through us made us cower and soon, we were falling on our knees. They dragged us into the metal cage, snapping the large door shut.
"What do we do?" I groaned, as my fingers forced their way into the holes in the cage.
In everything, revealing our wolves was the last thing we could do. The guards were watching over us and any slight change would be reported to the Alpha.
Ten minutes later, Shawn and Ethan sprawled on the floor, their bodies quivering and spasming. Death was incoming and I also couldn't hold on anymore.
But then, doom was incoming as the guards whispered among themselves.
"Go take the girl."
With a burst of energy, we all snapped at them, eyes turning a deep shade of blue, reflecting the moon's radiance.
Who was the girl? Davina?
I clutched the cage as the guards moved, yelling, "Wait!"
However, they didn't listen. They disappeared into the darkness and then pulled Davina out.
She was the figure from earlier, running around and witnessing the cruelty being done to us.
"Let me go…" She screamed, as they dragged her on the bare floor. Her hands clutched the dirt, holding on to that grip.
But the next second, a guard marched toward her, slamming his hard boots on her face.
Bang!
In that moment, I saw red. This was too far, far from what I had planned. She went quiet with her body sprawled on the floor and blood gushing from her mouth.
It was like time had frozen over for the three of us as the guards circled her, their faces a mask of worry.
"What do we do with her now?"
"Nothing…" The guard who had shoved her shrugged his shoulders. "We report to the Alpha that she was sniffing around. The Alpha hates those kinds of things anyway."
"For now, place her in the cell—"
Like a flash, I saw a white raging monster dash past me, slamming on the metal cage.
The cage burst open in seconds as Shawn's wolf landed on all fours. The black prancing wolf howled out, shaking the ground it stood on.
And the silver chains around its legs, burned into its flesh. Shawn made the decision, even though those chains could kill his wolf.
There was no holding back, as our mate was in danger.
Ethan followed, morphing into his majestic brown wolf and I smirked. The rush of hot blood in my veins aiming to slice at the guards' necks was all I craved all this while.
It was either life or death with our wolves, an extreme decision my brothers didn't want to take. But I did, for them.
We couldn't continue to hide our true power after all.
The next second, I morphed into my white wolf and together, we howled into the night.
The guards shook in their boots, lips parted as they dropped to their butt. And before the chains could burn deeper, we lunged at them.
