ETHAN
I sucked in a cold breath, eyes glancing at Shawn, who silently confirmed who Aria was. Davina's biggest bully and with the way she stared at us, the flash of wickedness in her eyes told us just how malicious she was deep down.
Her friend, Zayne was on the verge of death, and yet, this was what she could say and do?
"Aren't you all going to say anything?" Her brows creased as we all didn't say a single word to her.
A minute passed and her chest heaved and tension curled in her body when we still didn't say a word.
She then continued, "I knew something was fishy when Shawn became so active in class. And you…" She pointed at Uriel.
"I have not noticed you before, but you stood up for Shawn." And then her eyes landed on me. They went thin, as if she was trying to see through what was before her.
She shook her head while clicking her tongue, "I don't understand what is going on here…"
"No one wants you to." Uriel snickered before moving away, not taking a single glance at her. Shawn followed, and I did as well, leaving her behind.
But then, we had underestimated her.
She stood behind us, her voice carried by the wind, "What will happen if I tell everyone what you all did? It would be a different case if Zayne dies. Will you all be able to stand the heat?"
We all froze, our hands fisting simultaneously as hot blood coursed through our veins. Though we didn't care about Zayne's death, we couldn't afford to have us be named as the culprits.
And then her footsteps echoed behind us, as she started to circle us.
"Do you want to kill him?" I sneered.
"You never can tell what I will do." She halted, her voice slithering into our ears like vines and the evil in her eyes emanated from hell itself.
"For what?" Uriel spoke up. "Kill your friend to rat us out? Isn't that stupid?"
She laughed, the sound bouncing in the air, coming back at us. The sounds made us shift uncomfortably and I could say Aria was something. We were slightly wary of her now, an unusual feeling that shouldn't occur at all.
She finally came to stand before us, "You all may not know, but I like Shawn."
Her eyes glistened with excitement, and we could hear her heart racing rapidly. Of course, we knew that, as there was nothing we didn't know about each other.
However, we pursed our lips, waiting for her to spill more of her words.
"However, you all give off a dangerous vibe I want. Having Shawn alone isn't going to be so satisfying."
"Aria…" Shawn finally broke his silence, the coldness in his eyes almost freezing every single thing around us.
"Be careful."
But Aria wasn't fazed, her smile grew, turning into a grin. It was that danger, the coldness that attracted her to him, and now, she had set her eyes on us all.
"Are you all brothers?!" She asked.
Our stomachs dipped, eyes darting toward each other. We could never let her know we were the Alpha triplets. Her claws would extend deeper into us that way.
The only way we had been able to get away with our hidden identity was because none of us looked like the other. But if one looked closely at us, there would be great similarities.
"That's it! We are done!" Shawn pushed her out of our way, treading down the pathway leading to the bustling side of the school.
We followed but Aria was relentless, her feet thudding behind us and she caught onto Uriel, dragging the ID card rope around his neck.
"I need to know your names! Who the hell are you all?!"
However, Uriel had always hated someone touching him, and for a split second, his eyes flashed, his wolf on the surface.
"Get the hell away from me, you bitch!" He snarled, smacking her hands off his neck.
However, he didn't control his strength as Aria was sent flying to the hard floor, and her body rolled a few meters away. The large bruise that appeared on her arm made me suck in a cold breath.
But I didn't feel an ounce of pity for her. She deserved it.
Even though she was injured, Uriel wasn't satisfied. From the corner of my eyes, I caught his claws growing out, his eyes flashing and he was struggling to suppress his wolf.
Shawn had to step in immediately, blocking his view of Aria.
"Uriel, calm down." He whispered. "We can't risk anyone knowing about us right now."
I immediately walked up to Aria to distract, as she had her eyes on Uriel and Shawn. I held her gaze, my head tilting to the side.
"Stay away from us," I warned. "No matter what you saw with Zayne, it isn't any of your business. If you cared about your friend, you would go save him right now."
She scoffed, holding onto her bruised hand. I could see the tears at the rims of her eyes, but she didn't let them flow. The venom deep in her eyes dripped instead.
"I don't care about Zayne." She struggled to her feet. "But the one thing I want right now, is having you all under my grasp."
My brows creased, wondering what she was about to do, and the next second, her lips parted, letting out a full-blown scream that sent chills down our spines.
"Someone help!" She held her hand, limp and bruised and she finally let her tears fall.
"Help! I am being harassed."
All heads snapped to look at her, as our eyes widened in shock. She seemed like a pitiful lamb and anyone would point accusing fingers at us three.
"Are you crazy?" We snapped.
Shawn and Uriel caught up to me, and our feet now treaded toward Aria.
She took a step back, finally going quiet as her body quivered and her throat bobbed.
It wasn't Uriel who was spiralling out of control now, Shawn and I had joined the mix.
"Yes, I am…" Even though she was clearly scared, the ends of her lips curled into a dangerous smirk. She liked the thrill, the danger and warding her away was going to be hard.
"And you should know, no matter what, I get what I want." She laughed. "Seeing all three of you, has ignited fire inside of me."
"So what do you say? Are you all going to be mine?" She grinned, her hands reaching for me but I pulled away in an instant.
I sneered, with my nose scrunching in disgust, "You are so brazen."
And Uriel stepped forward, ready to snap her head and keep her mouth shut forever.
But then, Shawn stepped forward, holding him back and the next words he spewed out of his mouth made my head go blank.
"Yes, we will be yours."
Uriel and I snapped to look at him, "Are you crazy?"
Shawn's eyes swept over us, and the usual coldness in them wasn't there anymore. It was replaced by a chill far deeper and colder than the North Pole and it would crack Aria open in no time.
We immediately knew he was planning something.
"Really?" She gasped, her eyes twinkling. "You all can't go back on your word!"
"Of course, we won't." Shawn's lips raised, slightly.
"Good! Let's meet after school, shall we?" Her smile was no longer dangerous, she now sported a shy and coquettish look as if her boy crush had just accepted her proposal.
We all watched her skip away, completely forgetting about Zayne who was still in the pool of his own blood.
As soon as she was out of sight, I held onto Shawn's collar, my claws almost drawing his blood.
"What do you think you are doing?" I snapped in his face.
"Relax…" He got my hands off him slowly. "Since Aria is so eager to have Davina's place, she will take all the bad luck there is then."
I gasped, and even Uriel's eyes widened in shock. We realized Shawn was a devil forged from hell but he had been frozen over for too long.
Now, he was slowly unleashing his fire.
