Life was… gray.
That was the best way to describe Kenji Tanaka's existence. Every day was a faded copy of the one before it. Wake up, squeeze into the subway, work until your eyes couldn't tell the difference between numbers anymore, return to your tiny apartment, sleep. Repeat.
"Damn... If only I could get a reset... A New Game+ or something," Kenji mumbled to himself as he shuffled across a crosswalk, his eyes half-closed with exhaustion. It was past 9 PM, and his brain was a warm soup of spreadsheets and unanswered emails.
In that moment, as he was pondering the miserable dinner that awaited him (a cup of instant ramen), he heard a sound he wasn't supposed to hear on this quiet street.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
There was no pain. No time for fear. There was only a flash of blinding light, a strange sense of detachment from his own body, and one last, ridiculous thought that floated through his mind: "I hope the company doesn't find out I took that extra stapler from the supply room."
And then… nothing.
Darkness.
Silence.
"Is this heaven?" Kenji wondered, finding himself floating in an endless black void. "It's more boring than I expected."
Suddenly, right in front of his face, a glowing blue screen flickered into existence, like something out of a cheap video game. Pixelated text appeared.
[ Congratulations, pathetic mortal #9,438,554,121! ]
Kenji blinked. "Pathetic mortal? That's... kinda rude."
[ You have been randomly selected to participate in the exclusive 'Second Chance' program! You have two simple options: ]
Two choices materialized on the screen:
[ Option A: Fade into eternal nothingness. (Note: Super boring. Not recommended.) ]
[ Option B: Be reborn in a new, exciting world with a life-changing contract! (Note: Fun is mostly guaranteed.) ]
Kenji stared at the screen. Was this an exhaustion-fueled dream? Was he hallucinating? Still, the choice was obvious. Eternal nothingness didn't sound appealing at all.
"Alright... you sarcastic blue thing," Kenji said cautiously. "What exactly is this... contract?"
The screen smiled, if a screen could smile. The text shifted rapidly, revealing the main clause of the contract in big, bold, very pink letters.
[ The Contract: You must abandon your dull, male identity and embrace your new destiny. You shall become... a Femboy. The best, most seductive, and most chaotic one to ever exist. ]
Kenji fell silent.
He stared at the word.
"A... Femboy?"
