His mission: to defeat the remaining demon beasts and end the reign of terror he helped create. As he fights, fragments of his former self awaken. His demonic essence stirs... but so does something he never expected: connection. He forms bonds, with family, warriors who trust him, with innocents who look up to him, and with friends who would die for him. And with each connection, the weight of his past grows heavier. How can he accept love when he once destroyed it? How can he protect others when his very soul was forged in blood? Hunted by demon beasts, judged by gods, and haunted by who he was, he must rise, not as a monster, but as the hero this world desperately needs. Even if it means sacrificing everything he's become.

Chapter 1 - The Seventh

"Keep the line, don't back down! Archers, use your Arcane Arrows, fire it all! Mages, cast your spells, we must hold the line and advance!!!!!!!" a man roared, his veins bulging as the burning air around him poured into his throat.

He donned black armor with red rune lines glowing all over. His armor was battered, and his cape was ripped. Yet he stood strong, a sword in hand and a chest full of courage.

The archers lined their bows. They pulled out their arrows and strung them; the tips of the arrows were purple crystals. They glowed as they pulled back and released into the air.

The arrows flew through the air, their tips glowing bright. They shot down toward the wave of beasts rushing toward them.

Demon beasts, creatures born from the darkness. They were the greatest enemies to all life. Their goal was simply chaos and destruction.

Their strength was massive, and their numbers, their numbers could never be counted. Humanity, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, they all fought against the demon beasts, but victory had never been close.

But right now, looking at the savage beasts that filled the battlefield and the arcane arrows flying through the air, there might be some hope for humanity.

The arrows penetrated the bodies of the demon beasts and killed them in one hit, their bodies littering the floor.

After the arrows, a barrage of powerful spells fired, ripping through all the demon beasts, tearing them apart.

Victory was in sight. This battle would be won. With that confidence, the man yelled, "All ground troops, advance! This is the final wave before the Demon Beast King's territory. If we get through, the heroes will kill the Demon Beast King!"

The Demon Beast Kings, ancient creatures that lived long before any human world was created. Seven of them, the strongest beings in this godforsaken world.

The seven Demon Beast Kings lived to destroy all life, and in over five thousand years, no one had come close to killing even one. Hero after hero, they all perished before they could even get to the Demon Beast Kings.

In all of history, this was the closest that humanity had come to killing a Demon Beast King. Their morale was high, and their blood boiled.

The knights rushed in, roaring. Swords in hand, they began the battle. The crystals embedded in all their swords glowed bright purple, it made their blades sharper as they slashed.

In only a few minutes, they had killed several demon beasts. The war was looking well on their side, they were winning.

Their morale rose higher and higher. Victory was in sight, until suddenly, there was a rumble.

The ground shook. Everyone struggled to stay on their feet.

"Hold your ground! Do not falter! Something is on its way!" the man roared. Everyone battled to keep standing.

They thought it might be another wave of demon beasts, and they were ready to go again. But then they all saw it, standing there in the distance.

A wolf standing at twenty feet tall. Its dark fur flowed like flames, its eyes blazed red. It had seven tails, each with stingers like scorpions.

Its very presence caused the ground to tremble, the air to get hotter.

The knights froze. The leader of the army stood there stunned, his breathing shaky. "The… the Seventh Demon Beast King," he muttered. The fear in his tone was evident.

The seven demon beasts had a hierarchy, each one stronger than the last, from the first all the way to the seventh, the seventh being the strongest.

"This was supposed to be the territory of the First Demon Beast King," the leader of the army said. He unconsciously took a step back. He lost all his morale and drive in that moment. There was no way in hell they would be able to battle the Seventh. They were doomed.

"Run for your lives!" he screamed.

The Seventh stood watching as the humans began running. Then he scoffed. "Why come all this way only to run?" His deep voice reverberated. "I find this extremely tiring," he said, and then opened his mouth. A black ball of energy formed.

Whoosh.

It shot out like a missile, cutting through the air at a crazy speed. It slammed into the army that was on the run, and for a moment, there was silence.

Crack. Boom.

An explosion followed, and the entire battlefield was caught in the blast, evaporating them into nothing but dust.

"They all die so easily. Tsk… When will someone with true potential arrive?" the Seventh asked. Then he noticed a shine from the smoke.

He tilted his head to the side, and a spear traveled past his head at a very stunning rate. It managed to cut some of his fur off.

"Hmmm?" He was shocked.

The spear stopped mid-air and then started rotating, flying back to whoever sent it. The spear cut through the smoke and dust, landing in the hand of a man.

Three people stood there, lady and two men, clad in armor and wielding unique weapons that instilled fear.

"So these are their new heroes. Maybe they can finally do something," the Seventh muttered.

"You vile beast, today we will finally bring an end to your vile tyranny!" the man with the spear roared. He looked at the lady to his side and the man, making sure they were ready.

The lady brought out her staff and started casting a spell.

"Let's cover her until her spell is ready," the man with the spear said and charged forward. The second man pulled his greatsword, rushing behind. Their weapons glowed.

They leaped into the air, full power, full strength, humanity's final hope.

The Seventh had a look of excitement as he watched them. Then he attacked, expecting that they would block the attacks, but his stingers stabbed right through them.

The Seventh was shocked. He looked at the both of them, already dead and bleeding.

"What the hell? These two were the weakest I have ever met," he said. Filled with anger, he attacked the girl and killed her immediately. He couldn't be bothered.

With all the humans dead, the other demon beasts began retreating while the Seventh looked at the dark sky. "I'm bored of all this… five millennia of the same thing repeated over and over again.

I just want an end. I need an end," he spoke in a sad tone. His eyes then went cold. "I'll make an end."
