Chapter 1 - 1

Sunlight shone upon the office room of a prestigious heir.

That prestigious heir looked ethereal with the sunlight on his face as he completes his tasks.

Suddenly, one of the maids of the pavilion he lives in comes to his office in a ruckus.

"Young master!, your younger brother is nowhere to be found! Is he here?"

She looked scared and in a panic as her once tidy look now turned messy.

Ning Xu looked at the maid in irritation as he is busy working on the tasks he has on hand.

"May I know the full detail of what happened? "

The maid looked hesitant to answer but answered honestly.

" Young master, while I was going to bring professional hunters to help Xu Nian in his hunt in the woods and got back, he wasn't there..! "

Xu Ning knew it was a habit of his younger brother to not tell anyone around him, but it was out of habit of him to leave the woods alone without anyone accompanying him.

Xu Ning felt something was off and had a bunch something terrible might happen.

He then told the maid to get backup and he went off to the woods alone.

As he arrived in the woods, he looked around spots that his brother might be at but he is nowhere to be seen.

He felt his hope depleting, until he heard a scream for help.

Hearing the scream, his heart started to beat more, he realized the scream's voice belonged to his younger brother. He rushed towards the scream.

He saw his younger brother laying on the grass, the grass dirtying his white hunting robe while his sword is broken in half. After further notice he realized a blood demon hound was ready to pounce on him.

His eyes widened, he felt his heart beating more as if it was about to burst, a rush of adrenaline poured in him as he rushed towards his younger brother and protected him from the bite of the blood demon hound.

He winced and groaned from the pain of the powerful bite of the blood demon hound.

Blood poured from the wound of the bite.

It spilled and dirtyied the once green lush grass into blood red.

Xu Nian's eyes was focused on his brother.

The blood spilled onto his face.

He felt sick, as he saw it look at him.

It's eyes clouded in predatorial instincts.

Words couldn't describe how guilty he felt as his brother started to break and wailed in pain.

He knew it started biting harder.

Xu Nian ran to the pavillion to ask for help.

Xu Ning who got in that predicament wailed painfully as he tried to think of a way to get the blood demon hound off him.

He looked around him, his red blood—shot eyes stared upon a sharp rock nearby.

He grabbed it and motioned it towards the blood demon hound's neck.

The blood demon hound let go of his bite on Xu Ning's neck and whimpered.

Xu Ning in a fit of anger bashed the rock towards it.

Blood gushed from the blood demon hound's head as it morphed into an indistinguishable corpse.

Xu Ning's white-golden robe is now covered in red, his pale white face now has a very distinguishable red on him.

His face looked coldly towards the corpse.

It was an abstract pool of messy red.

Xu Ning heard his younger brother and guards rushing towards him.

He looked towards them tiredly, his soul leaving his eyes as he falls down.

The last thing he saw was Xu Nian worried and guilt—ridden face looking at him.

Xu Nian hurries the guards to quickly give first aid towards his older brother.

The guards start channeling their spiritual energy towards Xu Ning's bite wound.

The wound somewhat heals and the bleeding stops.

As Xu Nian holds Xu Ning, his eyes shudder at the blood on his hand that earlier was closing the wound.

He felt despair and guilt.

They then quickly transport Xu Ning towards a nearby clinic.

Xu Nian looks at his older brother's face. It looked somewhat pale, too pale. It looked cold unlike how it was when his brother was before.

He turned his gaze away after thinking of something.

•••

At the clinic, the nurse and doctors quickly treat Xu Ning.

The head doctor who was treating him looked at the disgusting wound. He felt like the wound will never be able to be treated completely.

Miraculously the wound was treated completely and Xu Ning was then placed in a patient's bed to rest.

Xu Nian while looking at his older brother who was now more life—like and warm, informed their parents through a spiritual communication tool.

"Father, Mother, I want to inform you about Older brother. "

Xu Nian explained everything to his Father and Mother.

They both felt concerned for Xu Ning and him. His father then lashed at him for getting his older brother into the accident because of his own carelessness.

Xu Nian stayed quiet, he couldn't deny it.

It was his fault after all, he looked at his older brother once again, pondering the wound on his neck.

Xu Nian then asked for his mother and father to come to the clinic to check on his older brother, they both then agree and went there quickly.

As soon as they arrive, Xu Nian waited for them outside the clinic.

Xu Nian only looked somberly at them.

Mr. Xu looked angrily at him and slapped him.

Xu Nian only looked at him while he somberly smiled. There was a hint of pain and guilt in him.

Madam Xu looked sadly at Xu Nian, she couldn't do much as she wasn't too in control of the situation.

They then went in the clinic room for Xu Ning.

Madam Xu looked at Xu Ning sadly.

Mr. Xu only looked coldly while glaring at Xu Nian.
