Whoosh, whoosh.

A man in a yellow protective suit, panting like a bellows, ran through a peculiar space.

The space was composed of rooms covered in yellow wallpaper.

The incandescent lights on the ceiling buzzed with electricity, but he had no time to worry about that, because a three-meter-tall Entity was hot on his heels.

'Damn it, why is there an Entity here!!'

The Entity was made of wire-like tissues, its tentacle-like 'hands' stretching desperately forward.

A piercing scream came from its wooden-fish-like black head, though the wire-composed Entity didn't look like it had a throat.

He didn't dare to look back, nor did he dare to slow down.

Adrenaline prevented him from feeling any fatigue for a short time, but this hopeless escape made him feel like he was about to be swallowed by fear.

Just as he was about to give up, a door appeared in his line of sight.

A wooden door on a yellow wall.

'A door?!'

A surge of strength emerged from his body, making his tired body quicken its pace once more.

Entering this unknown wooden door might mean death, but not entering it definitely meant death; this was not a choice.

He used all his strength to crash through the wooden door, and in an instant, the Entity's roar disappeared, and he fell heavily to the ground.

Lying on his back, he looked at the hazy sky through his protective mask.

'I survived…'

The sore feeling in his legs made him not want to move at all.

"What is this place? There's no record of it in the data… Is it a new Level?"

Just as he was about to get up, a voice filled with suppressed anger came from behind him.

"I… was imprisoned for ten thousand years, and then banished from my homeland."

"Now You dare to trespass into my territory! You are seeking your own death!"

Hearing that chuunibyou voice, he lay motionless on the ground. A young man stood behind him.

A twenty-something Asian male, wearing a blue T-shirt and ordinary jeans, was now standing behind him, looking at him calmly.

Hearing the other party's chuunibyou-like speech, he didn't dare to laugh, let alone move.

For no reason, simply because a long sword made of gray-white small blocks was pressed against his neck.

"Let me introduce myself, my name is Yang Tao, and welcome to my world."

Being welcomed with a sword to his neck was an experience he was having for the first time in his life, and he hoped it would be the only time.

However, it was very strange; the language the other party spoke was not English at all, but bizarrely, he could clearly understand what the other party was trying to express.

Especially in this strange place, he couldn't be careless. He adjusted his mindset and carefully asked, "Are You a Wanderer? What is this place?"

The environment here was clearly different from Level 0, where he had just been, which was why he had such a question.

Wanderer is a general term for people who accidentally entered the Backrooms.

The Backrooms is an inner world relative to the Frontrooms (the real world).

In the Frontrooms, people can enter the Backrooms through some special methods, including but not limited to 'clipping into boxes' like in CrossFire, or walking backward with a camera and falling (confirmed).

Yang Tao looked at the 'Little Yellow Man' who could communicate, feeling very excited. The reason for his chuunibyou speech just now was that he had been 'kicked' into this strange space for a week.

He tried many methods but couldn't leave this space shrouded in gray mist, and the Bedrock beneath his feet couldn't be destroyed.

That's right, it's a block in Minecraft that cannot be destroyed by conventional means in Survival Mode and Adventure Mode, and cannot be mined.

And his 'cheat'... it's a bit inaccurate to say that. Rather than a cheat, he became Steve from Minecraft.

Now he had health, hunger, a backpack, a hotbar... it could be said that he basically had everything Steve had.

Except he wasn't a block person.

"Where is this? Didn't I just tell You? This is my world."

Looking at the other party's protective mask, which obscured his face, Yang Tao said with a smile, "Now sit up and take off your protective mask so I can see You and make sure You are human."

From the beginning, the yellow protective suit on the other party gave him a strangely familiar feeling.

When the other party asked him if he was a Wanderer, he already had a guess about the origin of this Little Yellow Man.

The man hesitated for a moment, then slowly reached out and removed the hood from his head. He was a standard handsome European-American man in his thirties, with blond hair and blue eyes, but the bloodshot eyes and pale, sickly face greatly detracted from his handsome appearance.

"Very good. Now I ask, You answer. I hope You cooperate well."

"What is your name? Of course, You can make one up; it's mainly for my convenience in addressing You."

"And where are You from?"

During the conversation, Yang Tao did not let the other party stand up, and the stone sword in his hand remained pressed against the other party's neck, ensuring that he could launch an attack at the first sign of trouble.

"Eric, You can call me Eric. I came from Level 0. I accidentally came here because I was chased by an Entity. If I have offended You in any way, I apologize."

Hearing "Level 0," Yang Tao immediately confirmed his guess.

'Shouldn't the Backrooms just be an urban legend?'

In 2019, an image circulated on the famous forum 4chan—a corridor covered in yellow wallpaper. The dim lighting, old lamps, it looked a bit strange, but that was all. Until someone replied in the comment section: If You accidentally no-clip out of reality in the wrong place, You will enter The Backrooms.

From then on, the Backrooms creepypasta was born on the internet.

'I've already become Steve, so traveling to the Backrooms world doesn't seem like something unacceptable. The only problem now is which version of the Backrooms this is…'

There are many versions of the Backrooms, but the mainstream ones are the Fandom, Wikidot, and Kane versions.

Apart from some basic settings being the same, the content of the three versions can be said to be vastly different.

The reason he couldn't be sure was that 'Little Yellow Men' only existed in the Kane version, but the Kane version didn't have the concept of Levels.

This was very confusing.

The stone sword in his hand suddenly disappeared.

Looking at the other party, he extended his hand and said, "Eric, it's nice to meet You."
