Level 1 - "Parking Zone"

Survival Difficulty: 1 Safe, Stable, Minimal Entities

Level 1 is a vast, endless warehouse with concrete floors and walls, exposed rebar, and an unknown mist hovering at lower levels.

The puddles on the ground are formed by the condensation of this mist.

Yang Tao had only been standing out of the puddle for a few seconds when his wet clothes became dry again.

He looked at the puddles, only one or two centimeters deep, and chuckled, "Is this even considered a water landing?"

In Minecraft, no matter how high Steve falls from, as long as there is water beneath his feet when he lands, he will be immune to all fall damage.

"It's a bit much, but I like it."

Looking around, Level 1 is different from Level 0; this level has a continuous supply of water and electricity.

As long as proper precautions are taken, Wanderers can live here indefinitely.

It also features stairs, elevators, private rooms, and corridors.

At this moment, a shelf against the wall in the distance caught his attention. On the shelf was a cardboard box. After careful observation, he found no danger.

The cardboard box was just an ordinary cardboard box, with no markings on it.

After a moment of thought, Yang Tao decided to return to the Overworld first, call Eric over to guard the door, lest he waste half a day if he died and returned to Level 0 after finally reaching Level 1.

"Go home!"

As his words fell, a mosaic wooden door appeared out of thin air in front of him. He reached out and pushed the wooden door open.

Eric, hearing the commotion in the space, looked at Yang Tao in surprise.

Yang Tao looked at Eric, whose complexion had recovered, and asked with a smile, "How do you feel?"

"I'm good, just a bit hungry... Did you go to another level?"

"Yes, I found Level 1..."

Back in the space, Yang Tao's health and hunger began to recover rapidly. In this Main World, he seemed to be in Peaceful Mode.

"Level 1?"

Eric looked confused and puzzled, which stumped Yang Tao. He immediately asked,

"You don't know Level 1? Then how do you say you're from Level 0? What organization do you belong to?"

Originally, Yang Tao hoped Eric was a member of the integrated M.E.G. organization, but from the current situation, he should be from another organization.

Eric heard Yang Tao's question and quickly explained, "I'm employed by A-Sync Company to explore the Backrooms. By finding some graffiti left on the walls and some scattered notes, I learned that the current space is Level 0. Although the company's researchers suspect there are other numbered spaces, it hasn't been confirmed."

Eric's words made Yang Tao unsure how to describe his current feelings.

M.E.G. is a Wanderer self-help group, spontaneously formed by Wanderers who entered the Backrooms, while A-Sync Company is a real-world company where an accidental experiment opened a portal to the Backrooms.

After discovering Level 0, the company's senior management learned about it, and then these guys, on a whim, decided to use the space of Level 0, which is almost several times the size of Earth, to develop real estate, which then triggered a series of subsequent stories.

"This Backrooms is really chaotic..."

But whether it's chaotic or not really doesn't concern him. He just wants to dig up some things to exchange for energy value, and then find an opportunity to return to the Frontrooms, and he'll ask for nothing more.

'Anyway, there are so many Backrooms levels, and they're infinitely large at every turn. Digging up a little bit of stuff won't have much impact... Hmm, it shouldn't be much.'

"Eric, you help me hold the door open, I'm going to explore Level 1."

Eric nodded and stood up from the ground. The hunger in his stomach made him feel a bit weak, but pushing a door was still no problem.

After Yang Tao turned around, he suddenly discovered that two doors had appeared on the wall.

...

'Could it be that each level has a separate door?'

He could already imagine the scene of the walls being densely covered with wooden doors from now on. He walked over and reached out to open the wooden door; the other side was indeed Level 1. The other door, when opened, was Level 0, just as he had imagined.

"This will make crossing floors convenient in the future..."

Eric's previous shock was because he saw a new wooden door appear out of thin air on the misty wall.

Now, judging from Yang Tao's reaction, he also seemed unaware of the new wooden door's appearance.

'Hmm, I'll record this later.'

As per Yang Tao's request, Eric walked to the wooden door to prevent it from closing automatically, while also observing the unfamiliar surroundings.

Yang Tao walked to the table, reached out, opened the cardboard box, and saw the items inside.

There weren't many things.

Two gray thermoses, a flashlight, and a delicious-looking cake.

Yang Tao did not examine the items here but directly put everything into his backpack, then unhesitatingly turned and walked towards the wooden door, but halfway there, he suddenly remembered something.

He returned to the shelf, took out his stone pickaxe, and began to hit it.

"I almost forgot about you!"

The shelf's purpose wasn't significant, but not taking something for free is simply not being a qualified Steve.

"It's quite hard..."

With each thud, more and more cracks appeared on the shelf, but the speed at which the cracks spread was much slower than on the walls of Level 0.

Bang, with a soft sound, the shelf turned into palm-sized blocks and flew into his body.

After finishing all this, Yang Tao left contentedly. Eric waited for him to return to the space and immediately closed the wooden door.

Yang Tao then opened his backpack to check the items he had just acquired.

"The gray almond water can even restore hunger!"

Almond water is an item that appears in most levels of the Backrooms. They are also one of the most practical and in-demand items that Wanderers can obtain.

Currently, there are four types of almond water discovered in the Backrooms, distinguished by the color of their thermos bottles.

The four types of almond water are gray, red, blue, and green.

Each has special effects.

almond water can be said to be an important source of nutrition in the Backrooms. One bottle can provide 600-700 calories. An adult only needs three bottles to maintain a day's energy consumption.

"Eric, catch!"

Eric fumbled to catch the almond water and asked in confusion, "What is this?"

There are no material spawns in Level 0, so it's normal that Eric hasn't seen almond water.

Yang Tao smiled and took out the cake from his backpack, tasting a small bite. Hearing Eric's words, he explained, "almond water. It can provide the energy your body needs and also restore your consumed mental energy. It's a hard currency in the Backrooms."

"As for the taste, you'll know when you try it."

Almond water has a wide range of applications, and can even resist and tame some Entities.
