Chapter 1 - Fallen

...My name is Runalia Carolen. Though, everybody calls me Runa. This boy beside me is my twin brother, Luis.

We are raised together by our parents in Rondon Village, located far to the southwest of the map. And today, as both of us were busy scavenging our food for the day, the sky above us torn apart, leaving behind a very small crack. Small enough for someone to fall.

And that's exactly what followed.

The boy seemed to be around our age. As he fall, Luis managed to catch him. I didn't bother trying to help, because the boy in question was naked. I was busy covering my face with my own hands to avoid seeing the boy's elephant trunk. The crack in the sky fixed itself right after.

"Are you alright?" My brother asked.

The boy did not respond. From the tiny gap of my fingers, I could see that the boy had his eyes shut. He's probably dying, although the cause wasn't clear. Then, Luis took off his shirt and tied it around the boy's waist.

Luis looked at me, and without a word, I could understand what he's trying to say or do. We both bring the boy back to our home.

And so we reached our destination. A restaurant on the bottom floor and bedrooms on the top floor. Usually it would be flooding with customers at this time of the day, yet it was empty.

And the reason for that is because today is Sunday. We are closed on Sunday to restock on the ingredients. We aren't exactly making a fortune with it, but it does help us to even prepare savings in the case of an emergency.

"Papa, come downstairs for a bit"

If you hadn't realized, this is the first time I talked with my vocal chord in this series. But anyway...

"Calling me downstairs, why are you?" My dad said as he keeps a walking pace downstairs.

This is our dad. Despite his way of speaking, he is actually the most reasonable and intelligent person in the village.

"Quite daring, your choice of attire. Wrong with him, what is?" He said as he saw the boy in Luis's arm. We explained everything to our dad, and he raised his eyebrows the moment we mentioned a crack in the sky. I mean, I probably won't believe it either.

"Understood, I have. Collecting dust, the guest room had. Slumber there, he can." Spoke Dad.

So Luis carried him all the way there. I, however, am curious about my mother's whereabouts. So I walked around the house, and there she is. At the garden we grow our fruits and vegetables. Though, we do not grow everything there. Such as mushrooms for its abundance in nature, bananas because it only grow its fruits once and few others that isn't in season right now.

"Mama, we found an unconscious person in the woods earlier." I said to her.

"Oh, what is he like" My mom asked.

"A boy, about Luis's height, dark purple hair, black eyes and.... he seemed unwell." I replied.

"I see... Can you tell your dad to cook tonight, darling? I'm about to head to the night market after this." She implored.

"Sure, ma." I responded.

After telling my dad to cook dinner, I head to the guest room out of curiosity. Sure enough, he is still asleep. Luis seems bored out of his mind, and asked me to keep look for him. I didn't think much of it, so I complied.

As I'm sitting on the chair seated beside the bed, I can't help but to think about the crack in the sky. What was it, really? Even with Monsters, Demon King and Delegates around, a crack in the sky is abnormal. I don't know if even one of them can cut empty spaces in the air, let alone travel within it. Maybe the teachers would know about it. I'll find out about it tomorrow.

Sometime later, the boy twitched around and jolted awake. It seemed as if he had awoken from a bad dream. He looked around, confused, until our eyes met.

"Where am I?" The boy asked.

"Relax, you're safe here. We're in my parent's house." I replied, trying to assure him.

"So, who are you? What happened in the forest?" I asked him back.

But, the boy didn't answer. There was an awkward silence for a few second, and then he said it.

"I... I do not know... who I am. I can't seem to recall a thing. I remember being able to read... and write. Yet at this very moment... I do not know of my own origin."

"Lost your memories, you had, hm?. Families, even?" You could guess who asked

"Um, yes." The boy replied.

"Well, maybe they'll find you if we file a report for missing person tomorrow." Luis conceived an idea of most ingenious

"Do that, you may. Staying here, this boy will, until his families came. Also, a name, the boy needs. Give him a name, you both shall. Too old for this, I am."

After saying all that, dad washed his dishes and headed towards his bedroom.

What followed was the black silence atmosphere. The boy looked around, scanning the house as if trying to find topics he could ask. But Luis asked first.

"So, is there any name that you thought of?"

"No. I don't."

"Then let's think of one. Right now."

After a lot of brainstorming, we came up with a bunch of different names. There's Johan, Laem Cha Bang, Seong Sinu, Azukura, Nexus, Kei.... but none of them sounds good. Even the person in question does not like the sound of it.

And then, an idea of most ingenious had conceived within mine minds.

"Allen Carolen. What do you think? For now, you are our adopted little brother. And one day, when your biological family finds you, do promise to visit us again."

The boy thought for some time, and he nodded.

"That sounds good. Let's go with that."

"Mhm. So let's restart from the beginning. Nice to meet you, Allen. I am Luis Carolen."

"And I am Runalia Carolen. Today onwards, the three of us are siblings."

"Yes, likewise. Nice to meet you both. Please take care of me."

And that's the start of everything. The journey of the three of us siblings, trying to uncover the truth behind Allen's identities. The boy who fell from the crack of the sky.

It might be a long and arduous journey, but I believed that at the end of the road, all three of us will stand beside each other, reminiscing at this very moment full of nostalgia, joy and happiness.

And the three of us, will never be separated from each other.
