Chapter 1 - [1] Might as Well Have Left It Unactivated

『Congratulations, Host. Clan Binding System successfully activated.』

『Every person belongs to a family. Now that you're bound to yours, you will share in its triumphs… and its downfall.』

『A thriving clan will elevate you—enhancing your chakra, bloodline abilities, and overall power.』

Uchiha Yuhara sat motionless in his room, eyes locked on the glowing panel floating in his vision. His face had drained of color. His brain felt like it had short-circuited.

He didn't need to guess what this was.

It was his system—his long-overdue advantage in this world.

The problem?

It had arrived fifteen years too late.

He had been reborn into the Naruto world at the age of one. And for the next fifteen years, he had waited for something like this to awaken. Anything.

Nothing came.

While other people might get lucky and unlock some kind of power within a few years, he'd spent a decade and a half surviving on nothing but hard training and sheer caution.

No shortcuts. No miracles. Just effort and fear.

Fifteen years of surviving in a world where war, betrayal, and godlike power were daily threats. He wasn't some overpowered chosen one. He was just a survivor.

And now—just as he was preparing to escape what he knew was coming—it finally showed up?

Perfect timing. Not in a good way.

Yuhara had trained hard. Thankfully, due to his young age during the Third Great Ninja War, he was spared the worst of it. But as the war came to a close, he was still sent to the battlefield alongside his classmate, Uchiha Shisui.

That experience had changed him.

He came from a world of peace. A world where things like child soldiers and chakra beasts didn't exist. War had been something you watched in documentaries. Here? It was up close and personal.

And yet… he'd adapted.

Even without a system, he'd studied, trained, and pushed himself to the limit. Using what he remembered from the original Naruto story, he focused on perfecting the Sharingan and improving every facet of his skill set.

Now, at fifteen, Yuhara was seen as one of the clan's most promising young shinobi—right up there with Shisui.

But he knew better.

Shisui was different. That guy had the potential to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan—something Yuhara had not managed, even with all his knowledge.

He understood how it worked. The Mangekyō wasn't just unlocked through tragedy. It came from intense, soul-breaking emotional trauma. Killing a loved one was the most direct path, but not the only one.

The problem was, Yuhara already knew this. And that knowledge had dulled the emotional impact. His brain had subconsciously braced itself against the very kind of trauma he needed.

Prepared minds didn't break easily.

And without the Mangekyō, he knew exactly how this would end.

"When Itachi loses control… I won't stand a chance."

He looked at the calendar.

Year 54 of the Hidden Leaf calendar.

That meant less than a year remained before the Uchiha Massacre.

The clan was already on edge. Tension ran through every conversation, every meeting. The air itself felt heavy—like the village was holding its breath.

Yuhara had no delusions.

He wasn't here to save the world. He wasn't the kind of protagonist who flipped the script with a few speeches. He had one goal:

Survive.

He'd already started preparing to disappear. Quietly. No drama. Just vanish before the chaos erupted. That had been the plan.

Low risk. Low profile. Maybe a 10% chance of survival.

Staying behind?

That was a death sentence.

But now, with this damn system suddenly appearing, everything had changed.

Another message flashed.

『Current Binding: Uchiha Clan』

『Status: Critical – Internal division at dangerous levels. External hostility rising.』

『Clan Prosperity: 8,848 (Standard baseline: 10,000)』

『Recommendation: Resolve internal faction conflict. Stabilize clan leadership. Unite any salvageable elements to face incoming threats.』

Yuhara grit his teeth.

"Bound to the Uchiha… now? Are you serious?"

This wasn't a power-up. It was a leash.

He hadn't just been linked to the clan—he'd been shackled to their fate.

And with the massacre looming, that meant he had maybe ten months left to live.

Even if he somehow managed to prevent the bloodbath, what came after?

There were still godlike threats on the horizon—Pain, Obito, Madara… Kaguya.

And that was assuming the Uchiha didn't implode from within before any of them arrived.

"This isn't a blessing. This is a death sentence—one that drags Konoha down with it."

He couldn't take the clan and run. No one would listen. The elders wouldn't follow a teenager, and Konoha would never let a powerful clan walk away.

Too dangerous. Too proud. Too political.

Even if he managed to escape alone, there was no guarantee he'd survive. For all he knew, Itachi would move sooner—and he'd end up dead anyway, cut down before the main event even started.

Others could die. That was harsh—but true.

But he couldn't afford to.

Yuhara slumped back in his chair and exhaled slowly. "Alright. Let's see what else you've got for me."

『As the clan thrives, so will you.』

『Due to current clan conditions, the following abilities are available to the host:』
