Chapter 4 - [4] How Can We Fix the Clan with These Parasites?

It was a shame there wasn't any plum wine around, and they were standing in the middle of the street—otherwise, Yuhara would've loved to have a serious "wine and politics" conversation about the clan head.

Still, the words he'd already spoken had plenty of impact. Shisui looked completely numb. Seeing that dazed expression actually pleased Yuhara.

If his words couldn't shake Shisui's mindset, then everything he was trying to do would have already failed.

Strictly speaking, telling Shisui all this was a huge risk. But now that the system had forcibly bound him to the Uchiha clan, Yuhara had no time to waste. He had to choose his path—and fast.

Less than a year might seem like a lot of time, but for someone starting from zero, it wasn't even close to enough.

"I don't think you realize what you're saying, Yuhara."

At last, Shisui snapped out of it. The first thing he did was scan their surroundings to make sure no one else was nearby.

Once he confirmed they were safe, he turned to Yuhara, face serious—almost grim.

"Your thoughts are dangerous. Way too dangerous. You—"

"Am I wrong, though?"

Before Shisui could finish, Yuhara cut him off. His voice remained low, but the determination behind it was unmistakable.

"You and I are young. We have energy, and we have drive. Most importantly, we share a common goal.

Sure, our exact ideals might differ a bit—but we both want peace between the clan and the village.

Now look at what's happening under Uchiha Fugaku's leadership. Look at how far our relationship with the village has deteriorated.

You, Shisui—you're in the best position to see it clearly."

Shisui clenched his teeth. He looked like he wanted to argue—but he couldn't say a word.

Because deep down, he knew he'd already accepted what Yuhara said. His heart had started to waver.

And as a ninja, he knew just how dangerous that was.

But Yuhara's words had taken root. He couldn't stop thinking about them.

Was the clan's downfall really the clan head's fault? If they just replaced him—could things actually change?

It took a while, but Shisui eventually calmed down. He stared at Yuhara and finally spoke.

"Then tell me this… if you were the clan head—what would you do?"

"Shisui, have you ever realized that your way of thinking is incredibly narrow?"

Yuhara held back a bit, sighing softly before continuing.

"We both know what a clan head should do. But what they're able to do… that depends on how the village responds."

With that, Yuhara suddenly turned and started walking toward the forest behind the Uchiha compound, motioning for Shisui to follow.

That forest was an abandoned training ground—once used by Obito, in fact.

After Obito disappeared, the place fell into disuse. But Yuhara had adopted it as his personal training area. Out here, they could talk without worrying about being overheard.

"What do you mean by that?" Shisui asked once they arrived, scanning the area before finally voicing the question that had been bothering him.

"What do you mean by 'how the village responds'? If we become the clan head, wouldn't we be able to handle the village ourselves?"

"That's exactly why I said you're being narrow-minded."

Yuhara let out a soft chuckle—but the amusement faded quickly. His expression turned serious.

"The clan and the village are one and the same. That can't be changed. And do you know what the biggest black mark on the Uchiha clan is?"

Black mark?

Shisui shook his head slowly. Being in the Anbu gave him access to more information—but that didn't mean he understood everything.

For example, he still couldn't wrap his head around why Danzo from the Foundation hated the Uchiha so much.

Being able to see something and being able to understand it… were two very different things.

"I can tell you clearly—it's the Police Force."

Yuhara sighed.

These were things he thought he'd never have to say out loud—things he'd originally planned to use as bait in the future, maybe when trying to win over Sasuke after defecting.

But now, he had to bring them out early—to convince Shisui.

"The Konoha Police Force is responsible for internal order and peacekeeping. They set and enforce rules within the village, maintain public order, and arrest anyone with criminal intent—even other shinobi.

And honestly, they haven't done a bad job of it.

But do you know why the Police Force has such a terrible reputation?"

"I don't," Shisui said, staring at him seriously, ready for the answer.

He probably didn't even realize it, but at that moment, he looked like a student eager to learn.

"It all goes back to the Second Hokage. He was the one who created the Konoha Police Force. And that's where the real problem began.

On paper, he handed the department to the Uchiha—made it seem like a gesture of trust.

But in practice, he assigned them the role of punisher. He made them the enforcers of justice, and even had the prison built right alongside the police headquarters.

That way, the entire clan was pushed into the village's corner—literally and politically.

Why? Because of Uchiha Madara.

The Second Hokage feared another Madara might rise. So he wanted the Uchiha clan under constant surveillance.

To him, this was the best way to protect Konoha."

Yuhara paused. By now, Shisui's face had gone pale.

He knew who Uchiha Madara was—had heard the stories, knew the legend. And he also knew… there were still old holdouts in the clan who idolized him.

"And the Third Hokage? His entire circle—Homura, Koharu, Danzo—they were all disciples of the Second.

They inherited his mindset, too."

Before Shisui could fully process that, Yuhara continued.

"That's why Konoha has never truly trusted the Uchiha. And after the Nine-Tails incident, that distrust only grew worse.

Look at the Uchiha now. In a way, we were pushed into this position.

And just our luck—we ended up with this clan head.

You can guess how it'll end."

Yuhara sighed for real this time, then looked directly at Shisui.

Shisui still seemed stunned.

"That's why I said—if we remove Fugaku, we still need to see how the village responds.

But a unified clan—a clan that speaks with one voice—would be far more intimidating than a fractured one.

At the very least, the village wouldn't be able to ignore us so easily.

And if we do well enough… if we gain enough influence…

We might even be able to make one of us Hokage."

Yuhara saw the flicker of heat behind Shisui's otherwise calm gaze. He smiled and clapped him firmly on the shoulder.

"So tell me—how are we supposed to fix the clan while working with a bunch of parasites?

We have to trust ourselves."
