Chapter 1 - bonjour -prologue

In the pitch-black depths of an ancient dungeon, the air was thick with the earthy scent of damp moss and the distant echo of dripping water. The stale, musty odor of decay hung heavy in the air.

Suddenly, a low growl rumbled through the darkness, sending shivers down the spines of the adventurers. The sound seemed to reverberate off the damp stone walls, growing louder and more menacing with each passing second. Without warning, glowing red eyes pierced the blackness, followed by a devilish shape emerging from the shadows.

It was a creature unlike anything they had ever encountered a hulking beast with gnarled horns protruding from its head and sharp claws glinting in the dim light. Its hot breath steamed in the cold dungeon air as it let out another guttural growl, its eyes fixed hungrily on a group of terrified warriors.

"By the gods, what manner of beast is this?" gasped one of the adventurers, gripping their weapon tightly.

"We have no time for fear now," barked their leader, a seasoned warrior with a veteran gaze. "Ready your weapons and stand your ground!"

The warriors braced themselves, their hearts pounding in their chests as the monstrous creature charged toward them with thunderous footsteps that reverberated through the dungeon. With a battle cry that pierced the darkness, they lunged forward to meet the beast head-on, their weapons clashing against its thick, armored, leathery hide.

The creature's eyes blazed with fury as it swung its massive claws, sending sparks flying as they met steel. The warriors fought with all their might, sweat glistening on their brows as they dodged and weaved through the chaos of battle. The dungeon echoed with the clash of metal and the desperate grunts of combatants locked in a deadly dance.

When it seemed like the tide of battle might turn in their favor, The ground beneath them trembled violently, causing the warriors to stumble and lose their footing.

A blinding light enveloped them before they could regain their balance

, disorienting their senses as the world around them seemed to twist and warp. Instantly, they found themselves transported to a far deeper level of the dungeon, their bodies crashing into the hard stone floor with bone-jarring impact.

As they struggled to pick themselves up from the sudden teleportation, a roar echoed through the chamber, causing their blood to run cold. Looking up in horror, they saw a monstrous creature looming over them, its towering form casting a shadow that seemed to devour the feeble light of their torches.

The beast was a grotesque fusion of nightmares, with multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth glinting in the dim light and eyes that gleamed with malevolent intelligence. Its massive claws scraped against the stone floor as it advanced toward the dazed adventurers, a hungry glint in its eyes

Without mercy, the monstrous creature lunged forward, its claws slashing through the air with deadly precision. The seasoned warrior tried to rally his comrades, but it was too late. The beast moved with a swiftness that defied its massive size, overpowering the adventurers one by one with ruthless efficiency.

The first to fall was the warrior who had gasped in fear earlier, his blade shattering against the creature's thick hide as he was flung aside like a ragdoll. The others fought valiantly, their weapons clashing against the impenetrable scales of the monster, but it was all in vain. With each swipe of its claws and snap of its jaws, another adventurer met their end in a gruesome display of carnage.

The dungeon echoed with the sounds of screams and steel meeting flesh as the monster unleashed its savage fury upon the hapless warriors. Blood stained the cold stone floor, mixing with the musty scent of decay to create an atmosphere of terror and despair.

The adventurers watched in horror as their comrades fell one by one, their once-mighty weapons no match for the sheer brutality of this creature. As the last of their ranks were swallowed by the monster's jaws, a new sound emerged from the darkness, a low guttural growl that seemed to resonate through their very souls.

A second creature appeared, emerging from the shadows with a grace that belied its hulking form. Where the first monster had been a brute of pure strength, this one was something else entirely. Its body rippling with muscles, its skin gleaming with iridescent scales that shimmered and shifted like oils in water. Its eyes, though still glowing red, held a cunning intelligence that made the adventurers' blood run cold.

Before the remaining survivors could even raise their weapons in defense, the new creature let out a deafening roar that seemed to shake the very foundations of the dungeon. With a sudden burst of speed, it leaped atop the first monster, its massive claws digging into the creature's back as it bore its teeth into its neck.

The two beasts writhed and fought in a writhing mass of muscle and bone, their roars echoing off the cold stone walls as they clashed in a savage battle to the death.

The adventurers, unable to believe their eyes, watched in awe and horror as the monstrous combat played out before them.

As the battle raged on, the adventurers realized that they too were not safe from the carnage.

The ground shook violently once more, sending stones and debris raining down upon them. A sickly green gas surrounded them, choking their lungs and clouding their vision. Panic set in as they tried to fend off the gas, but it was no use. They fell, one by one, gasping for breath as their strength failed them.

The gas dissipated, leaving behind only silence and the stench of decay. The dungeon lay before them, shattered and desolate. The adventurers who had survived the monster's onslaught now lay lifeless, their bodies limp and lifeless.

The battle between the two monsters had claimed them all. With every desperate strike and bloody roar, the adventurers had been reduced to nothing more than collateral damage in this battle of survival.
