Chapter 2 - Awakening (1)

The darkness enveloped me as I stirred within the confines of my eggy confines. The walls of my prison pressed against me, urging me to break free. Instinctively, I knew I had to escape. With surging determination, I pushed against the shell, feeling it crack and splinter beneath my relentless efforts.

Faint light filtered through the fractures in the shell, beckoning me toward freedom. With each push, I felt a rush of exhilaration as pieces of the egg fell away, revealing glimpses of the outside world. The air outside was cool and musty, filled with the scent of damp earth and ancient stone.

As I finally broke through the last barrier, I emerged into a chamber bathed in a soft, ethereal glow. The walls were lined with intricate carvings depicting scenes of battles long past, their details worn and faded with age. Shadows danced across the floor, casting strange shapes that seemed to flicker and dart just beyond my reach.

As I stood there, blinking in the dim light of the chamber, a sense of awe and wonder washed over me. The carvings on the walls seemed to come alive, the figures of warriors locked in eternal combat, their expressions frozen in time. I tilted my head, trying to make sense of what I was seeing.

"Uh... pretty pictures," I mumbled to myself, my large clawed hand reaching out tentatively to touch the ancient stone. The cool surface sent a shiver down my spine, and I quickly withdrew my hand, unsure if I was supposed to be touching anything.

I put my hand back on the mural the sensation of the rough, ancient stone danced on my fingertips as I hesitated, torn between curiosity and caution. The eerie silence of the chamber seemed to echo in my ears, urging me to explore further. With a deep breath, I took a step forward, my bare feet sinking slightly into the cold, dusty floor.

As I moved closer to the sinister door at the far end of the chamber, a sense of foreboding crept over me. Wisps of dark miasma seeped from the cracks around the edges, curling and twisting like malevolent spirits eager to ensnare me. The air grew heavy with a noxious scent that made my scales prickle uneasily.

I paused, glancing back at the safety of the chamber I had just emerged from. The carvings on the walls seemed to watch me with unseen eyes, their silent whispers beckoning me to uncover their secrets. But the allure of the unknown beyond the door was strong, pulling me closer with an undeniable force. With a deep breath to steel my nerves, I reached out to push the door open.

The heavy wooden door groaned in protest as it swung open making a sound similar to a beast's groan revealing a corridor shrouded in darkness. A chill wind swept through, carrying with it the faintest echo of distant whispers. Despite the atmosphere, I pressed on, my heart pounding in anticipation of the mysteries ahead

As I ventured further into the corridor, the shadows seemed to deepen around me, swallowing the feeble light that struggled to pierce through the gloom. The air grew colder, each breath I took turning into a mist of crystalized water.

Suddenly, a flicker of movement caught my eye, and I froze in place. Out from the darkness emerged a group of figures clad in mismatched armor and colorful potions hanging from their waists one named "owl's vision", their weapons gleaming dully in the dim light. They eyed me warily, their hands tightening around their swords and axes.

As the group of adventurers approached me, their eyes filled with aggression and fear, in an attempt to communicate I spoke.

"Hello?"

But to them, it sounded like a menacing growl, only intensifying their belief that I was a threat. One of them, a burly man with a scar across his cheek, raised his sword in readiness, his companions mirroring his defensive stance.

I tried to take a step back, to show them that I meant no harm, but my movement only seemed to agitate them further. Their leader shouted something in a language I did not understand, gesturing aggressively in my direction. The others nodded in agreement, their grip on their weapons tightening.

Feeling the tension in the air thickening, I knew that words would be of no use. With a heavy heart and a sense of resignation, I turned and fled down the corridor, my paws making barely a sound against the cold stone floor. The echoes of their angry shouts followed me

as I ran, my heart was heavy with their misunderstanding. The darkness enveloped me once more, swallowing me whole as I fled deeper into the labyrinthine corridors of the ancient structure. The passageways twisted and turned, leading me further away from the company of the hostile adventurers.

As I navigated the dark-filled paths, the echoes of their shouts slowly faded into the distance. With each step, a sense of isolation settled over me, accompanied by a creeping realization that I was truly alone in this strange and foreboding place. The oppressive silence pressed in on me from all sides, broken only by the sound of my ragged breaths.

Just when I thought I couldn't bear the suffocating silence any longer, a faint glimmer of light caught my keen eyes. I quickened my pace towards it, hope blossomed in my heart like a fragile flower in a bountiful forest

As I rounded a corner, the corridor opened up into a vast chamber bathed in a soft, golden light that seemed to emanate from the walls themselves. The air was warm and tinged with a sweet fragrance that tickled my senses. I cautiously stepped into the chamber, mesmerized by the beauty that surrounded me.

The walls were adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes of a world far different from my own. Strange creatures frolicked in lush forests, mighty cities rose spanned across the land, and skies blazed with might I had never seen before. It was a breathtaking carving of wonder and mystery, each detail drawing me further into its embrace.

In the center of the chamber stood a towering archway, shimmering with an ethereal glow that beckoned me closer.

Without hesitation, I approached the archway, feeling a pull in my very soul as if it was calling out to me. As I stepped through the shimmering portal, a rush of energy surged through me, lifting me off my four feet and enveloping me in a whirlwind of light and magic.

For a moment, I was suspended in the air, weightless and free as if I were soaring through the skies themselves. Colors danced around me in a variety of hues. And then, just as suddenly as it began, the whirlwind ended, landing me gently onto some soft moss-covered ground.

Blinking in astonishment, I found myself in the heart of a lush forest unlike any I had ever seen. Towering pillars with a green top reached up towards the sky like the mighty deities shown in the murals, their branches heavy with vibrant blossoms that swayed gently in the breeze.
