Chapter 1 - Chapter I: The Marshal

(Year: 22 BBY)

--------------------------------

Kellian Ordo, Marshal of Concord Dawn -

--------------------------------

Kellian Ordo hated Coruscant with a passion. He'd spent far too much of his life here, mostly with the Jedi Order. It reached a point that he could no longer ignore about two years ago. He'd been meritoriously elevated to the rank of Jedi Master at the request of the Council of First Knowledge, with support from the Council of Reconciliation and Reassignment. Even received first class Corellian Bloodstripes from the Corellian Government. Kellian had grown dissatisfied with the Order, and resigned. It amused his old teacher greatly that the Lost Twenty had become the Lost Twenty One inside a decade. After resigning, he went home to Concord Dawn, joined the Journeyman protectors of Concord Dawn.

He'd trained with the Aatarian Rangers and Kiffu Guardians, and Clan Ordo was no House Ordo. Having brought Clan's Skirata, Keldau, Rook, Varad, Eldar, Saxon, Gedyc, Fett, Farr, Bralor, Cadera, Awaud, Kelborn, Iteri, and Lok under its sway under his leadership. Kellian was Mand'alor just without the title.

He intended to take that from Jango. Which was why he was on Coruscant. He asked Dex about the Kaminoan Sabredart.

He'd come close to getting Jango when Zam died. He was aware of the fact that in so doing, the Council discovered he really was back on Coruscant.

''Kamino. I'm not familiar with it. Is it in the Republic?'' Asks Obi-Wan.

Finally, the man he was waiting for.

''... I'd say about twelve parsecs outside the Rishi Maze. Should be easy to find, even with those droids in your archives. These Kaminoans keep to themselves. They're cloners. Damn good ones too.'' He heard Dex say.

''Cloners. Are they friendly?''

''Oh, it depends.''

''Depends on what Dex?''

''On how good your manners are… and how big your pocketbook is. Hehe. Actually, you're not the first person to ask me about them today. See the Mandalorian in the corner booth. He's a Journeyman Protector, he asked about them today, said he was hunting a deserter who killed some Clawdite assassin who tried to off some senator, had a Sabredart as well.'' He heard Dex say.

''A Journeyman Protector? Here on Coruscant?''

''Yeah, he showed me his badge and everything. It ain't no Constable though, it's a Marshals Badge. It's legit too.'' Says Dex.

Kellian watches as Obi-Wan speaks into his commlink, and turns his extended sensors off.

Obi-Wan was undoubtedly checking with customs.

--------------------------------

''I've been led to believe that you're a Marshal in the Journeyman Protectors of Concord Dawn. And that you're hunting a deserter that killed a Clawdite. I believe I'm after the same quarry.''

''It's been a long time, Obi-Wan.'' Kellian said, removing his helmet and placing it on the table.

''Kellian? You're the Marshal of Concord Dawn?'' Asks Obi-Wan, surprised.

''Aye, after I left the order I cut myself off from the Force for a time. Learning at the feet of Journeyman protectors, Antarian Rangers, Ailon Nova Guard, and Kiffu Guardians amongst others. About a year and a half ago, I started to unite the Clan's. I'm Mand'alor but without the title. You're after a bounty hunter, who is in effect the one currently holding the title. Name of Jango Fett, descendant of Cassus Fett, blood son of a former Journeyman Protector, adopted son of Jaster Meerel. Jango is a Jedi Killer. He's killed six of the Order with his bare hands and whilst enraged. He was the Mandalorian leader at Galidraan. Which as turns out was a lie. The governor was a puppet of a splinter group called Death Watch who wanted Jango dead, having already killed his father and kidnapped his sister. I'm pursuing Jango to declare Geroya be Haran, a Game of Annihilation, a fight to the death. It's the only way to settle things. Jango holds the title but he has deserted us and continues to run from us and has done for over twenty years. And since the Alor of Clan Fett swore loyalty to me, Jango is a deserter twice over.'' Kellian explained.

''You shouldn't execute a man. That's not the Jedi way.'' Says Obi-Wan.

''It's not.'' Kellian agreed. ''But Jango violated Resol'nare when he deserted. I'll give him a chance to return, out of respect for both of his Father's, but if he refuses to return, my hands will be tied and I'll have no choice but to choose Geroya be Haran.'' Says Kellian.

''I think we should return to the temple. You can bring this before the Jedi Council.'' Obi-Wan says.

''Fine by me. It'll be good to see Master Yoda again.'' Kellian said.

--------------------------------

As much as he hated Coruscant, he did miss the Jedi Temple. The people more than anything. Master Yoda and Master Drallig especially.

No doubt the man in full Beskar with a Journeyman Protector badge pinned to his chest with the Armor being Black with Red and Green highlights walking beside Obi-Wan was eye-catching. But Kellian was not here to rejoin the Order at least not now, he was here to join Kenobi before shit kicked off with the Confederacy.

As they exited the Turbolift, Kellian laid eyes on the Jedi Council, and he removed his helmet.

''Returned to us, you have Master Ordo.'' Yoda notes. ''To rejoin the Order, are you here?''

''No, Master. At least not yet. In the years that I've been away, I've become the High Marshal of the Journeyman Protectors of Concord Dawn. I'm tracking a deserter who's been on the run for over twenty years. He's a known Jedi Killer, and he was the Mandalorian leader at Galidraan.'' Says Kellian.

''Kellian and I have the same lead, and Kellian has informed me that the events of Galidraan were a lie, that the Governor was a puppet of a rogue sect of Mandalorian's named Death Watch. Death Watch apparently murdered both Jango's father and his adoptive father, both men were Journeyman Protectors.'' Obi-Wan says.

''And the governor proceeded to sell Jango into slavery. After breaking his chains and avenging the deaths of his parents. Jango deserted the Mandalorian people. He's been running from the Protectors ever since. I've been uniting the Mandalorian Clans. Jango's Clan leader swore loyalty to me, so Jango is doubly cursed because he's already in violation of the Resol'nare. Out of respect for his father and his adoptive father I'll give him a chance to return, but if he refuses, my hands are tied, and Geroya be Haran will be called.'' Says Kellian.

''Geroya be Haran? You speak of the Mandalorian death game.'' Koon says in disapproval.

''It is no game. Geroya be Haran might have started that way, but it is now a tradition used to settle matters that cannot be settled by words. If Jango refuses Geroya be Haran, his life is forfeit, as is the lives of his kin. I'll spare his kin however by declaring Jango Dar'manda.'' Kellian explained.

''A duty to your people, uphold it you must. Understand this, we do, but a Jedi once you were. Execution, the Jedi Way it is not.'' Yoda said.

''I know. But I have no choice in the matter, Jango by the oldest Mandalorian Laws is the only other legitimate claimant to the title of Mand'alor. If he was with the people he could easily relinquish his claim. But the reality is that because he's been a deserter for over twenty years he has no such rights to relinquish. Either he returns to answer for desertion, or Geroya be Haran is invoked. If I judge him as unrepentant, I can just declare him Dar'manda and be done with it. But unfortunately the only other serious threat to unifying the Clans is House Viszla, and neither Jango nor any Real Mandalorian wants them in charge.''

''Any connection with Tarre Vizsla?'' Windu asked.

''Tarre Vizsla was Mand'alor the Ultimate. He was Alor of Clan Vizsla. Ironically his right hand was both mine and Jango's ancestor Cassus Fett.'' Says Kellian.

''Master Kenobi, run your lead down in the Archives. Kellian, walk with me.'' Windu Says at last, standing up and walking away.

He spares Kenobi a glance. ''Do not leave without me.'' He warns Kenobi.

--------------------------------

''What are we doing here?'' Kellian asks as he and Windu had entered the Jedi Trials Chamber.

''I wish to see how far your skills have degraded.'' His former Jedi Master replied. Kellian gave him a dirty look.

He knew his master was trying to provoke him, and as they retrieved their training sabers, Kellian gave his master a Makashi salute, before raising his saber to prepare for a sweeping slash…

(Author's Note:)

--------------------------------

Welcome to chapter one of the rewrite. Not a lot of stuff to say. Kellian is in his early twenties now, and while he technically trained three Padawan's to Knighthood, he only fully trained two and merely completed the training of a Padawan who lost their master on a mission that saw Kellian become a Jedi Knight. Six months tops really.

Kellian has been out of the Order a few years, we'll cover more of that in coming chapters, and we'll slowly introduce familiar characters and stuff, for now let's just enjoy the ride.

I'll see you guys at the next chapter.
