Chapter 26 - Chap.25 - Hector's anger

Bonus Chapter [5] - 300 Power Stones

In a semi-open cavity behind the cave, Will, Jack, and Rigel crouched, watching the pirates gather around the treasure. Barbossa, atop the highest pile, with the Aztec chest of gold at his feet, began to speak.

"Gentlemen!" Barbossa shouted excitedly. "The time has come!"

The pirates roared with excitement, responding to his words.

"Our salvation is near!" he continued. "Our trial is almost over! Ten years..."

While Hector was giving his speech, hidden from the pirates' sight, Will was already growing restless.

"Elizabeth!" Will exclaimed softly, excitedly, seeing Elizabeth with her hands tied behind her back, looking around confused and scared.

"Calm down, young Turner, it's not time yet." Jack said, looking at Barbossa with evident intensity. He could almost feel the gun on his waist vibrating, the single bullet awaiting that long-awaited moment. Revenge!

Barbossa kicked the lid of the chest, exposing the treasure. - ...The cursed treasure of Cortés himself! And we recovered every piece that went missing! Except this one! - He pointed to Elizabeth, with the Aztec gold necklace around her neck.

"Come on! We have to save her!" Will wanted to move forward, but Rigel put his hand on his shoulder.

"Yes, but not from the front. You two go around, I'll create the distraction." Rigel said.

"Aye, Aye, Captain." Jack smiled, excited to be able to act from the shadows, and began to walk away, ready to turn around.

Will glanced one last time at Elizabeth, and gave Rigel a deep look, a thousand words contained in his gaze, hope, fear, apprehension... before quickly following Jack.

Rigel watched them leave, while he continued to witness the scene. In his mind, however, he was a little confused, they ended up arriving exactly when Will and Jack had originally arrived, and that didn't seem like a coincidence.

As soon as he thought this, the Adventure Book appeared before him, turning its pages until a blank page was reached and words began to appear.

[This world has a very strong concept of destiny, the writer isn't connected to it, but Jack and Will are. Your arrival at this point isn't a coincidence, the previous storm itself was a 'helping hand' from destiny.]

Rigel's lips trembled, he knew it wasn't that simple. "Does that mean things will happen as in the original, regardless of what I do?"

[No, you are not bound by the destiny of this world, so you can change it, but destiny will still try to rearrange itself, even if you change it.]

Rigel sighed in relief, he wanted to complete the content of the fourth and fifth films as soon as possible. He didn't want to spend decades in this world just waiting for fate to decide that the time had come.

Rigel turned to Barbossa, who was still talking, he should be grateful that the man enjoyed talking so much.

"Do you know what the first thing I'll do when the curse is lifted is?" Hector asked rhetorically, smiling like a child at Christmas, a bearded and wrinkled child with rotten teeth and yellowish eyes, clearly indicating scurvy or something similar.

He turned to Elizabeth and speaking in a softer voice. "Eat a bushel of apples."

Barbossa picked up a crystalline knife, probably made of quartz, he took the coin from her neck, and placed it in her hand, taking the knife and scratching her white hand, letting the blood run down it.

The person who looked most confused was Elizabeth, staring at the small cut on her hand as Barbossa rubbed the coin over her blood. "Is that it?"

Barbossa, who had been deceiving her until then, making her think she was going to die, gave her a mischievous smile and said. "Let's not waste it."

He made her turn her hand and drop the coin onto the others inside the chest. At that moment, all the pirates fell silent. When the coin clinked against the gold, Barbossa closed his eyes, searching for sensations long lost.

Rigel hadn't moved yet, even as the pirates looked confused, wondering if it had worked, he was waiting for Will and Jack to get closer to the chest.

"Did it work?" one of them asked.

"How will we know?" another asked, confused.

Rigel could think of more than one way, such as making a light cut to see if the wound would heal or simply standing in the moonlight to see if they would turn into skeletons.

Instead, Barbossa rolled his eyes, picked up his gun, pointed it at Pintel, and shot him straight into the heart.

[Pintel and Ragetti images]

Everyone stared in shock, until one of them shouted. "He's not dead!"

Pintel, who seemed both relieved and shocked, composed himself. "No." Only to realize he had almost died right there, he pointed at Barbossa. "He shot me!"

"It didn't work!" One of them shouted, without paying any attention whatsoever to Pintel's complaint, filled with despair. "The curse continues to haunt us!"

Barbossa turned to Elizabeth, quickly realizing the core reason why the curse was still there.

"Your father! What was his name?!" Hector shouted furiously, grabbing her by the shoulders. "Your father was William Turner?!"

Elizabeth didn't tremble, instead, she seemed to enjoy the pirate's panic. - No.

"Where is his son?!" This enraged Hector again, who grabbed the bloodied coin and pointed it at her face. "The child who sailed from England eight years ago, the child in whose veins runs the blood of William Turner, where?!"

Elizabeth did not answer, only staring at him with evident audacity. Barbossa became furious and slapped her hard, causing her to fall from the pile of gold, the Aztec coin falling along with her, Elizabeth collapsed, already unconscious from the strong blow.

"You two!" One of them shouted at Pintel and Ragetti. "You brought the wrong person!"

The pirates finally found someone to blame, shouting in agreement with those words, Pintel and Ragetti cowered, shaking their heads rapidly.

"No!" Pintel spoke quickly. They might be immortal, but Bootstrap Bill's fate was still clear, nobody wanted to go through that. "She had the medallion, she's the right age!"

"She said her name was Turner, you heard." Ragetti added, making the group of pirates remember this and shout in agreement. "I think she lied to us."

The group of pirates was furious, after ten years of torture, they thought they were finally free, falling from heaven to hell. The pirates directed all their hatred directly at the one who caused it all.

Barbossa!

"You brought us here for nothing!" one of them shouted.

Meanwhile, Rigel noticed Jack and Will rescuing Elizabeth from the water, which made him smile, he didn't wait any longer.

Pointing his wand forward, he directly conjured Expecto Diabolus, the Green Snake 'Ghost' appeared again.
