Chapter 31 - Chap.30 - Legendary Flintlock

Bonus Chapter [3] - 240 Power Stones

[A/N: Why do I have the feeling that the six bonus chapters are going to end tomorrow?]

--x--

"What do you want?" Jack finally asked after the long silence.

"Let's not talk about that first, Jack, let's talk about what you can get." Rigel changed the subject, starting to walk around the deck, looking at the pearl with evident interest. It was a pity, but he wasn't ready to face Davy Jones yet.

The man himself alone would give him trouble, imagine the crew and the Kraken he commands, in contrast, dealing with Salazar is much easier.

His next target has already been identified, and it will happen as soon as Jack makes the deal.

Embarking on Salazar's Silent Mary, in addition to ending the man's curse and the compass itself, the rewards are evident.

He turned to Jack, who was following him with hurried steps.

"And what would that be?" He asked with a mischievous grin.

"When the time comes, and it will, you won't be fighting alone." Rigel blinked, looking at Jack for another moment, his gaze fixed on his teeth and the syphilis scar on his chin and neck.

"And... a potion for illnesses and cure teeth." Rigel truly felt repulsed just looking at Jack, he really wanted to deal with this, he was just waiting for a good reason.

Jack froze for a moment, he was already excited by Rigel's first promise, but hearing the second, he was confused for a moment, but feeling his teeth ache, he shrugged, it seemed like a good deal.

However, although Jack wanted to accept right away, he wasn't stupid enough to sign a blank check, not without becoming so desperate that he didn't even have rum to drink.

"And what do I have to pay?" Jack asked, with a generous smile. "I imagine it's not something simple after all this detour."

"The compass, Jack, I want the compass." Rigel explained, his eyes were focused on the compass on Jack's waist.

Jack's smile froze, he subconsciously placed his hand on the compasst, swallowing hard.

He could feel the compass vibrating, almost as if it were urging him not to accept, but thinking of Davy Jones, Jack felt very conflicted.

He took his hand off the compass and asked. "And... how will I know if you won't just take the compass and refuse any help?"

Rigel rolled his eyes at him. "Because I could have killed you several times in the last few days, taken the Black Pearl, not paid you a cent, and finally, used the snake around your neck to force you to give me the compass."

Jack swallowed hard, this made perfect sense. If it had been Jack, he would have taken the compass, the Pearl, and the treasure.

Jack, who was used to dealing with pirates, didn't know what to say for a moment, but the next moment, he smiled. "Done!"

Jack picked up the compass and placed it in Rigel's hand.

As soon as the compass touched Rigel's hand, the entire Black Pearl began to tremble, not only that, but the whole island and the nearby sea trembled, even the Interceptor in the distance shook.

The pirates were shocked, clinging to whatever they could to avoid falling.

Jack's eyes widened as he looked at Rigel, who was already smiling, the compass firmly in his hand. Jack swallowed hard and asked with a sad smile. "Can I change my mind?"

Rigel ignored him and looked at the Adventure Book reappearing before him, his excitement evident.

[The flintlock was placed in your bag.]

Rigel continued to ignore Jack and reached into his bag, pulling out his gun, which made Jack jump back.

"You know what? Never mind, you don't need to return it." Jack quickly changed his mind.

Rigel rolled his eyes at him and looked at the flintlock.

It was made of smooth black wood and silver, the trigger was still there, but the hammer was gone. Rigel couldn't ask for much from a Bronze item, but unlimited ammunition was already very good.

Rigel pointed towards the sea and fired, the recoil was strong for his small stature, but he withstood it well.

He fired a few more times, seeing that the efficiency was the same, he felt very encouraged, he hadn't been very interested in flintlock guns before, after all, those weapons only fire once before needing to be reloaded.

Jack looked at the flintlock pistol with obvious interest, but didn't say much, he just watched Rigel put it away, but felt a little strange not knowing where he had placed it, no matter where he looked.

"The deal is done." Rigel nodded, then pulled two potions out of his pocket.

One was a small potion in a black bottle, he handed it to Jack to drink, and Jack frowned, took it, opened the lid, and took a sniff, only to throw his head back with wide eyes. "This stuff stank like hell!"

Rigel shrugged. He had bought many potions and needed to be economical. Asking a potion maker to create and flavor potions required a very high level of proficiency in the art, but better flavor meant more expensive, and Rigel didn't have much money to splurge, so he could only be frugal.

"What's in it?" Jack asked, swallowing back the urge to vomit. If he didn't know Rigel could kill him with a wave of his stick, he would have thought it was poison.

"It's a potion to cure generic illnesses." Rigel shrugged. "As for the ingredients? Believe me, you don't want to know."

Jack stared at Rigel for a moment, then at the potion, then back at Rigel. For a moment, he wanted to give up, but thinking about the price he had paid, he could only sigh and swallow it all at once. Luckily, there wasn't much liquid.

Unfortunately, the feeling was awful!
