Chapter 30 - Chap.29 - How to take a compass from a pirate

Bonus Chapter [2] - 160 Power Stones

Rigel turned to Jack, deep in thought, considering what to do next.

Completing the main mission doesn't require participating in the Pirates of the Caribbean storyline, just becoming famous at sea. With what he has now, that would be very easy, he could guarantee that dozens of books and films will be based on his life.

Sure, most people won't believe it, but it illustrates the idea.

The problem is that after seeing the rewards he can get, Rigel admitted, he wants more.

He received a reward for reaching Isla de Muerta, other important locations likely offer rewards as well.

He needs to become the Pirate King to upgrade his hat, but that can wait for Davy Jones.

He also received a reward for removing the Aztec gold curse, removing other curses is also a direct way to receive rewards.

That was the last achievement in the series, embarking on legendary ships: Flying Dutchman, Queen Anne's Revenge and Silent Mary.

All of this made it clear that participating in the plot offers incredibly rich rewards, plus he bets that to achieve the Rainbow reward upon leaving this world, he needs to participate in the plot directly.

Even so, he wasn't ready to wait decades here, so he wanted to speed up the process for the fourth and fifth films.

He could divide these films into parts, the fourth film was divided into the interaction with Blackbeard and the Fountain of Youth.

The fifth film was divided into Salazar's liberation from the Devil's Triangle and Poseidon's Trident.

Rigel admitted that he wanted Jack's compass, with it, he could not only free Salazar but also easily find what he needed.

However, there was the problem: acting now and retrieving the compass could disrupt the plot of the next two films, but after knowing from the Adventure Book about the influence of Destiny, his concern is less, but some things can still change completely.

For example, going to "Davy Jones's Locker" to rescue Jack should yield a good reward, but would the reward for going to the Locker alone or rescuing Jack from there differ significantly?

Until now, the Book has only given rewards based on locations and actions, not on specific situations, such as rescuing Jack from prison or something like that.

This made him realize that achievements weren't necessarily connected to specific moments or actions related to characters, at least, no reward for that had been given until now.

Except for Jack, the monkey, but his situation was completely random, and even though it wasn't considered a reward, he still needs to figure out a way to get Jack out of this world.

In any case, at least in this world, Rigel realized that he wouldn't necessarily need the characters from the plot.

Getting to Davy Jones's Locker wouldn't be easy, but with the compass and the map, he thought he could manage it.

Finally... after much thought, Rigel realized that trying to keep the plot going made no difference, even without the compass, fate would not have abandoned Jack.

Thus, Rigel's current objective was defined, to obtain Jack's compass and free Salazar, through this, he could accomplish certain goals.

In the movie, Jack traded the compass for a bottle of rum.

Yes, as random as Jack Sparrow could be.

However, Rigel highly doubted that Jack would actually give up the Compass at that moment, he wasn't penniless like in the fifth film.

Instead, he had the Black Pearl, money, and probably Rum in the Pearl's pantry.

So Rigel was stunned for a moment, trying to figure out how to switch the compass with Jack.

Jack, on the other hand, still had that stiff smile. No one dared to speak while Rigel thought, swallowing hard and remaining silent.

Rigel's eyes shifted constantly, staring blankly at Jack. Jack broke out in a cold sweat, hoping that Rigel's nature was better than his own.

While he was still wondering if Rigel would kill them all to keep the Pearl, he felt the snake slithering across his neck. Jack froze, his eyes wide, but soon the snake completely detached from his neck, falling to the ground and crawling towards Rigel, climbing onto his body and hiding inside his clothes.

Gibbs wanted to spit and jump to ward off evil, but he held back. He wasn't the only one.

Rigel, on the other hand, took something out of his pocket. Jack took a step back, still silent, but calmed down when he saw Rigel pulling the Tarot deck out of his pocket.

Rigel shuffled the cards seriously, then opened the deck and showed it to Jack. Unlike the first time, this time he had shuffled seriously, knowing that this world worked with destiny, he wanted to see what Jack would draw.

"Take away three." Rigel said.

Jack's lip twitched quickly as he looked at the cards, pointed ahead, and spoke. "May I refuse?"

"It's up to you, but fate won't stop just because you don't want to see it, Jack." Rigel smiled and shrugged. "But if you don't want to, so be it."

Rigel prepared to put the cards away, but Jack immediately jumped up. "No!" He quickly approached, drawing three cards.

As soon as he turned the cards over, Jack almost wanted to throw them away.

Rigel looked at the cards, then at Jack, then back at the cards, and for a moment he didn't know what to say about Jack.

"Hanged man, Death and Devil..." Rigel repeated.

"I don't think this is going to be good." Jack's expression showed obvious regret.

Gibbs had already taken three steps away from Jack, the crew followed him quickly, and even Will looked at Jack strangely. Elizabeth seemed even more curious than anything else, she wanted her fortune told too!

Rigel shook his head, he didn't even need to invent anything. Jack really was always walking a tightrope, between luck and misfortune, fate seemed like a prostitute who smiled at him only to discover he had nothing in his pockets.

"That means the cycle is almost over, Jack." Rigel began, speaking in a heavier, more serious tone. "He will come, you know who I'm talking about."

Jack pursed his lips, wanting to lie and say he didn't know what he was talking about, but he knew there was no point in lying to the Witch.

"Death means the cycle is over, the creditor is already on his way to your door." Rigel continued. "The hanged man indicates that you are trapped, and the devil indicates the reason, material things, things you cannot get rid of. The Black Pearl is your freedom and also your prison, Jack. You won't be able to abandon it, so you won't be able to escape your destiny."

Jack had already looked away, glancing at Gibbs in the distance. "Mr. Gibbs."

"Yes, Captain?" Gibbs asked, looking at Jack as if he were looking at a corpse. Gibbs, being extremely superstitious, had already classified Jack as a dead man.

"Rum, please." He held out his hand.

Gibbs swallowed hard, picked up his canteen, opened it, and took a long gulp before handing it to Jack, who didn't mind Gibbs' saliva and drank the rest. He turned to Rigel and asked. "I imagine you have a solution, don't you?"

"Do I have it?" Rigel calmly put the cards away, looking at Jack with a smile. "Perhaps, but the price..."

Jack felt that this Witch was harder to get rid of than the rats on a ship, he just wanted to turn around and leave, but knowing that Rigel was right, he could only endure it.
