Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 – The Accidental Proposal

Naturally, Lucas could not possibly tell Cassandra the truth.

Even if someone needed to explain things to her, it definitely should not come from him. Given Cassandra's personality, if she realized her father had specifically asked Lucas for help, the entire situation could easily backfire.

"Oh…" Lucas said casually, "Mr. Greengrass just asked me about what happened in Albania. After hearing everything properly, he felt really guilty."

Cassandra pressed her lips together quietly.

She did not say anything else.

But Lucas could tell that her father crying while apologizing to her had still affected her deeply.

After a moment of silence, Lucas smiled lightly.

"Want to go for a walk with me? The Healer said I should move around more while recovering."

"All right," Cassandra replied immediately. "I can show you around the estate properly."

Seeing her smile again, Lucas also relaxed.

Honestly, staying at the Greengrass estate during recovery was turning out to be surprisingly pleasant.

The estate itself was enormous.

Lucas and Cassandra wandered together for a very long time without even managing to explore all of it.

Eventually, the two of them arrived back at the pavilion where Cassandra had first greeted him yesterday.

Cassandra sat elegantly across from him before calmly pouring tea for both of them.

Lucas watched her quietly for a moment.

Then he took out the ring he had prepared the previous night and placed it gently on the table.

"I made this for you last night," he said with a smile.

Cassandra froze slightly.

Her eyes landed on the ring.

For several seconds, she simply stared at it blankly as though her brain had stopped functioning.

Seeing no reaction from her, Lucas casually reached out, grabbed her hand, and slid the ring onto her finger himself.

Perfect fit.

As expected of me.

My measurements were flawless.

Lucas secretly felt very proud of himself.

Cassandra looked down slowly at the ring now resting on her finger.

It was beautiful.

The golden surface shimmered softly beneath the sunlight, and the moment her finger touched it fully, glowing silver letters suddenly appeared across the ring.

Cassandra Greengrass.

Cassandra's eyes widened instantly.

"You… made this yourself?"

"Of course," Lucas replied proudly. "Every detail was polished by hand. I carved every single letter myself too."

Before making it, he honestly had no idea his crafting skills were this good.

Meanwhile, Cassandra continued staring at the ring in silence.

The more she looked at it…

The more she liked it.

He made it himself.

It even had her name engraved on it.

And the design was unbelievably beautiful.

Then suddenly—

Cassandra realized something.

Her entire body froze.

Wait.

This idiot…

Did he even understand what giving a ring to a girl meant?!

And not only that—

He had personally put it on her finger himself!

Worst of all…

She had not even refused.

Whoosh!

Cassandra's face instantly turned bright red.

"Y-you… you…" she stammered in complete panic. "Why would you suddenly give me a ring?!"

Lucas blinked in confusion.

"Huh? Don't you like it? I thought you would—"

Cassandra's face became even redder.

At this point, Lucas genuinely felt like steam was about to rise from her head.

Say she didn't like it?

Impossible.

She absolutely loved it.

But if she admitted she liked it…

Wouldn't that basically mean she accepted it?!

And she had already let him put it on her finger personally!

Meanwhile, Lucas remained completely oblivious.

He continued enthusiastically explaining the complicated process he used to craft the ring.

Then suddenly—

Cassandra stood up and ran.

She turned around and fled at top speed.

Lucas even thought he could literally see steam trailing from above her head.

"Aaaah! Idiot!"

Lucas sat there completely stunned.

He genuinely had no idea what just happened.

"…What's wrong with her?" he muttered blankly. "I didn't even get to explain it's a storage ring yet…"

The system immediately spoke.

"Ding! It is truly impressive that the host remained single for thirty years in your previous life."

"Ding! System rewards host with one pity skill point."

"What the hell?" Lucas protested instantly. "It's just a storage ring! Did she seriously mistake it for an engagement ring? That's ridiculous!"

"Ding! But the host never explained that it was a storage ring."

Lucas froze.

"…Huh?"

A horrifying realization slowly dawned on him.

"…So she thought it was an engagement ring?"

"And that's why she ran away?!"

At that exact moment, a small figure suddenly emerged from behind a nearby pillar.

Kafi the house-elf looked at Lucas with worshipful admiration.

"Oh! The honorable Mr. Summers actually proposed to Miss Cassandra!"

Lucas's expression changed instantly.

"And Miss Cassandra accepted the engagement ring personally!"

"No, wait—"

"And Mr. Summers even placed the ring on her finger himself!"

"That's not what happened!"

"Oh, wonderful! Kafi must hurry and report the good news to the master immediately!"

Snap!

The house-elf vanished instantly.

Lucas's face turned pale.

"Wait! Hold on! There's been a misunderstanding!"

Unfortunately, Kafi had already Apparated away.

Lucas stared hopelessly at the empty air.

His soul practically left his body.

This was too deadly.

He genuinely never imagined that giving someone a storage ring could somehow escalate into an accidental marriage proposal.

The system spoke again mercilessly.

"Ding! Does the host have any final regrets remaining in this world?"

Lucas covered his face silently.

Meanwhile, elsewhere inside the estate—

Mr. Greengrass had finally calmed down emotionally.

At this moment, he sat quietly at his desk while writing letters to reorganize several major business arrangements.

After speaking with Lucas earlier, he had already decided to reduce his workload significantly in the future.

From now on, he intended to spend more time with Cassandra properly.

Lucas truly was an excellent young man.

Thanks to his reminder, Mr. Greengrass finally understood what he needed to do as a father.

He even felt optimistic.

As long as he started trying seriously now, perhaps he really could rebuild his relationship with Cassandra little by little.

Then suddenly—

Snap!

Kafi appeared directly in front of him.

"Master!" the house-elf squealed excitedly.

Mr. Greengrass looked up calmly.

"What is it, Kafi?"

"Just now, Mr. Summers and Miss Cassandra were together inside the pavilion!"

"Oh?" Mr. Greengrass nodded approvingly. "That's good. Lucas should spend more time walking around during recovery."

"And then Mr. Summers gave Miss Cassandra a gift!"

"Really?" Mr. Greengrass smiled while casually taking a sip of tea. "What did he give her?"

Kafi looked thrilled.

"It was an engagement ring, Master!"

Pffft!

Mr. Greengrass sprayed tea everywhere.

Kafi received the entire blast directly to the face.

"What did you just say?!" Mr. Greengrass nearly jumped out of his chair.

"Mr. Summers personally placed the engagement ring onto Miss Cassandra's finger! And Miss Cassandra didn't refuse at all!"

Kafi looked deeply emotional.

"She even ran away happily afterward!"

Mr. Greengrass collapsed weakly back into his chair.

His expression became utterly devastated.

"Oh, Merlin's beard…"

"How can this happen…"

"They're only eleven years old!"

His face filled with despair.

"And I only just started repairing my relationship with Cassandra!"

"Is she already preparing to run away with someone else?!"

"Oh no…"

Meanwhile, Kafi stood nearby innocently, completely unable to understand why the master looked so heartbroken over such wonderful news.
