Lucas picked up the completed ring and carefully examined it beneath the magical desk lamp.
He had to admit—
The design modeled after the One Ring really did look incredible.
After gently infusing a trace of magic into it, Cassandra's name slowly appeared along the golden surface in glowing silver letters.
Lucas nodded with satisfaction.
She would definitely like it.
After cleaning up the scattered tools and materials across the desk, Lucas carefully stored the ring away. Then he collapsed onto the soft bed.
Within minutes, he was asleep.
The next morning, Lucas had barely opened his eyes before Mr. Greengrass personally arrived with a Healer from St. Mungo's.
Although Madam Pomfrey had already examined Lucas thoroughly before, this was clearly the Greengrass family's way of expressing concern.
Naturally, Lucas could not refuse.
So he obediently sat through another full medical examination.
After a long series of checks, scans, and diagnostic charms, the elderly Healer finally concluded that Lucas's injuries had mostly recovered already.
Whoever treated him previously had obviously been highly skilled.
In the end, the Healer simply left behind several nourishing potions to help restore Lucas's weakened body before departing politely.
Only after the overly dedicated Healer finally left did Lucas prepare to find Cassandra and give her the ring.
Unexpectedly, before he could leave the room, Mr. Greengrass entered first.
The man cautiously looked outside the hallway.
Then, after confirming nobody was nearby, he carefully locked the bedroom door.
Lucas blinked in confusion.
What exactly was he doing?
Mr. Greengrass slowly walked over to the bed before staring at Lucas with an unusually serious expression.
To be honest, the look made Lucas slightly nervous.
"Um… Mr. Greengrass?" Lucas asked carefully. "Is there something I can help you with?"
"Yes!" Mr. Greengrass answered immediately. "There absolutely is!"
Then he suddenly grabbed Lucas's hand tightly.
"Kassandra has never cared about anyone the way she cares about you," he said emotionally. "And yes, don't look so surprised. That includes me."
Lucas froze awkwardly.
"Ah… well…"
Mr. Greengrass sighed heavily.
"When she was little, Kassandra used to cling to me constantly. Everywhere I went, she followed behind me like a tiny shadow."
His expression became deeply melancholy.
"But after she grew older… she gradually became distant from her father…"
Then he looked at Lucas with eyes full of desperate hope.
"So please tell me honestly," he asked earnestly, "what exactly should I do to make Kassandra close to me again?"
"She clearly treats you differently. You must have some special method, right?"
Lucas finally understood.
Mr. Greengrass was genuinely anxious about his relationship with his daughter and had somehow decided to seek advice from him.
The problem was…
Lucas honestly did not know how to answer.
Strictly speaking, Cassandra was an extremely proud person.
Toward those weaker than herself, she naturally maintained a cold and superior attitude. In her eyes, people beneath her talent simply belonged to a different world.
I'm stronger than you.
Therefore, I naturally stand above you.
That had always been Cassandra's way of thinking.
But then she met Lucas.
From the moment he completely crushed her in the field she was most proud of—magic—everything changed.
For the first time, Cassandra encountered someone her own age who was genuinely superior to her.
That forced her to acknowledge him as an equal.
No—
As someone above her.
Strictly speaking, only from that moment onward had Lucas truly become qualified to enter Cassandra's world.
Then there was his absurd charm stat.
And finally…
The Killing Curse incident.
Lucas had nearly died protecting her.
That experience had shaken Cassandra's lonely heart more deeply than anything else ever could.
All those factors combined together created the current situation.
Lucas was stronger than her.
More talented than her.
Kind to her.
And willing to risk his life for her.
How could she not care?
Unfortunately, none of those things could realistically apply to Mr. Greengrass.
After thinking quietly for a moment, Lucas finally asked,
"Mr. Greengrass… when exactly did Cassandra start becoming distant from you?"
Mr. Greengrass thought carefully.
"…About five years ago, I think."
"And during that time," Lucas continued gently, "what were you usually busy with?"
Mr. Greengrass hesitated.
"That year… I happened to be handling several extremely important investments, so…"
Suddenly, he stopped speaking.
His expression slowly changed.
Lucas nodded calmly.
"Yes. Cassandra became distant because you spent too little time with her."
He shrugged lightly.
"When she was growing up, she spent more time with her maid than with you."
"You missed a large part of her childhood."
Mr. Greengrass's face gradually turned pale.
Lucas continued honestly.
"There's no way to make Cassandra become exactly as clingy as she was when she was little."
"But…"
"If you're willing to reduce some of your work and spend more time with her, things can still improve."
"Even if she resists at first, eventually she'll slowly accept your presence again."
Mr. Greengrass stood there silently.
Then, after a very long pause, he suddenly laughed bitterly.
"So that's what it was…"
"I should've realized this long ago…"
His voice became filled with regret.
"If I hadn't ignored her because of work… she never would've been tricked into going to Albania by that bastard Marcus…"
He lowered his head heavily.
"Yes… I should've understood sooner…"
"If only I had spent more time with her…"
"Maybe she would still smile at me the way she used to…"
Mr. Greengrass's eyes reddened visibly.
"Thank you, Lucas."
Then he quietly unlocked the bedroom door and left looking completely devastated.
Lucas stretched lazily after the conversation ended.
Then he prepared to go find Cassandra.
Unexpectedly, before he could leave the room, Cassandra herself walked inside.
Her expression looked deeply suspicious.
"What exactly did you do to my father?" she demanded immediately.
Lucas blinked innocently.
"What?"
Cassandra folded her arms.
"After he came out of your room, he grabbed me and kept apologizing while practically crying."
She narrowed her eyes dangerously.
"So…"
"What did you say to him?"
