Lyam was walking through the institute courtyard after a long day of classes and physical education.

Lyam couldn't help but laugh at that, he felt like the luckiest man in the world. Then he brought his arm back over her shoulder, pulling her closer to him, making her cling to his chest.
Then he turned his attention to his friend, who could only shake his head while sighing at his "loving" behavior.
"Don't worry, man, the right one will come soon." he told him when he saw him down.
Mateo snorted in response before placing both hands behind his head, looking up at the clear sky.
"After what happened with Valeria… I'm not really in the mood for more women, you know?"
"I'm honestly surprised by what Valeria did to you, Mateo…" Sofía replied, indignant and disappointed at her former best friend's infidelity.
Mateo just shook his head, downplaying the matter.
"Let's go—"
Lyam was about to speak, but out of nowhere, he found himself in a completely different place.
There were no structures or people, literally nothing but a dense fog that didn't let him see anything.
"...W-What?"
He looked around desperately, already getting nervous about what was happening.
"Sofía? Mateo?" he shouted, hoping they could hear him.
But then, a strong gust of wind made him cover his eyes, trying to avoid getting dirt in them.
When he looked forward again, what he saw left him completely stunned.
The place was entirely rocky, with sharp stones rising into the air and several structures in the distance.
"W-Where the hell am I?"
Quickly, several assumptions about being in a new fantasy world came to his mind as a result of reading so many novels of that genre.
"Calm down!" he shouted to himself, quickly reaching for his phone, but as expected, there was no signal.
"Shit…"
He looked in all directions without knowing where to go, and he doubted there was anyone else here besides him.

A loud crash echoed behind him, stirring a small gust of wind and shifting the stones.
When he slowly turned around, Lyam could swear he had five heart attacks in a row.
A fucking monster, or whatever that thing was, had appeared right beside him, clearly with its attention fixed on him.
"UWAAAA!" he screamed at the top of his lungs, falling to the ground as he tried to get away from that thing.
Which began to move toward him at an absurd speed, and not just one, but several of those same things started coming out of the same hole as the first.
All with the sole objective of eating him.
'Shit. Shit. Shit.'
This was too much, he was tired from PE class and his body was already literally programmed to lie down with Sofía as soon as he got to his apartment.
Not to run from things that God knows what they are.
He didn't know how long he ran, but those things seemed to be playing with him by not increasing their speed to catch him. When he glanced back over his shoulder, he ended up tripping over a rock on the ground, rolling several meters.
"Tsk… shit—" he turned his attention back to the beasts, which to his horror were already just a few meters away, ready to tear him apart.
Instinctively, he shut his eyes tightly while raising his arms to protect himself, waiting for the worst.
'Shit… I should've had more sex with Sofía…' the only thing he regretted not having fully taken advantage of.
Yeah, in a situation like this, he was grateful to have had the best sex sessions with her, but they weren't enough… they weren't.

Out of the corner of his eye, he managed to see how one of those things had lunged at him with a swipe of its claws.
"Tch. This one is too weak." the girl spat, jumping off the beast she was riding, landing beside him and cutting that thing in a single swing of her sword.
"What is a man doing in 'The Veil'?" the girl said, glancing at him sideways. "Are you alright?" she asked, looking him up and down.
"Y-Yeah…"
"Good."
She positioned herself in front of him with her sword completely covered in blood, as if protecting him from all the dangers of that place.
"I am the leader of the fifth campaign of the Order of the Guardians. Myra Drevast." she introduced herself without looking at him.
Then she turned just enough for him to see her face clearly, she was beautiful…
He knew he had a girlfriend, but he couldn't help it, he was a man. And that woman was fucking sexy, with long white hair and red eyes staring straight into his.
She had a smile on her face while the blood of those beasts stained her delicate white skin.
He couldn't help but blush slightly at that.
