Chapter 1 - Chapter Zero

Chapter Zero

[ I dont know what the fuck im doing we ball ]

Alarms blared as heavy combat boots stomped throughout the facility, several curses were uttered under a scientist's breath in an unrecognisable dialect, before he grabbed a child, around the age of 4, by the shoulders. "LUKA! We go, NO-"

Before he could even finish, a voice was heard behind the wall behind them.

"CLEAR!"

Before anything else could be said, the wall exploded, reduced to rubble as several operatives dressed head to toe in combat gear rushed into the room, screaming at the scientist while pointing heavy weaponry at him. "Get on the ground, hands behind your head!" One of them ordered.

"LUKA, Run! Wreak havoc on this multiverse and the next! Burn your name into every single one!" The scientist exclaimed before snapping open a portal beneath the child, causing them to drop through. The last thing Luka heard before it closed was several gunshots, then silence.

Silence…

Suddenly, quick breathing. His own.

Luka woke up in cold sweat, his bedsheets wrinkled from his tossing and turning. "Another nightmare…" He muttered, swinging his legs over to sit on the edge of his bed as he caught his breath. "This one felt more… real…"

He shook his head before walking over to the small bathroom connected to his bedroom, flipping on the lightswitch as he entered. He turned to the mirror, staring at his reflection. His hair was dark and messy, long disorganised swoops of black silky strands. Two dark grey scaley horns poked out of his hair, flecks of gold matching his eyes. His left sclera was black, a scar running across the respective eye and eyelid.

"I look like shit…" Luka mumbled under his breath before turning on the tap and running cold across his face, spilling a substantial amount on his Hatsune Miku branded pyjamas. "Fuck.."

Luka flicked the sink tap's handle, shutting it off as he walked back into his room. He changed out of his soaked pyjamas and into some black slacks, white shirt and brown aviator jacket. "New day.." He looked into his full mirror in the corner of his room before stepping out, gloved hand turning the door handle.

Light blinded his eyes as he stepped out, lifting his arm to block it until his eyes adjusted. When his eyes did eventually adjust, he could finally take in the view.

The view of the Multiverse.

The view of Nirvana.

"Bit sunnier today.." He noted, looking back at the door to his room. A lonesome doorframe sat atop of a floating island. He smiled slightly before walking off the edge of the island and dropping downwards.

Wind whipped past his hair as the tip of his tail struck with a blue flame on the end of it. Universes blurred past his vision, a conglomerate of paraverses rotating around each one in a similar form to a halo. "Alright so…" Luka mumbled, reaching his hand out, a blue flame enveloping it. "Should be… right here!"

He struck the space in front of him, splitting the fabric between universes as he grabbed onto a thick branch. His eyes widened slightly, not expecting to get it first try, but still, he pulls himself through, entering through it and sitting atop the tree.

The Absolute Pacifist Universe. A refuge for people not belonging to universes. A sunny place with streets and houses for those without homes. In the center of the town, a bar stood, 'The Burg'. Luka hopped down from his tree and made his way through the town.

Luka pushed open the door to the 'The Burg', greeting the people he knew with a warm smile before he took a seat at the counter, calling out, "Yo, Agni!" Suddenly a 10'4 woman made of lava and magma and cased in clothes resembling a furnace turned to face Lukas, staring down at the shorter male. "Hm? Oh hey sugah!"

"Hey Agni, the usual." He grinned as the hulking semi-solid woman leaned onto the bar counter.

"Of course, sugah! But, y'know, maybe you should buy from the actual menu?"

"When you put it on the actual menu, I will." Luka replied with a taunting grin as Agni rolled her one eye, turning around to operate the stove behind her. "So… how's business?"

"Oh, y'know, same old.. Saddening to see new people though." Agni replied as the smell of bacon wafted through the air. "How's about you? How are you doin'?"

"Oh, err, well, nothin' interesting." He chuckled, running his finger across the rim of a glass in front of him. "Though, I've had that same nightmare again… felt more real this time.

"Maybe it means something… could be your lost memories.."

"Could be.. I don't really remember much of my childhood…." He spaced out for a few moments before.

"Y'hear the King's makin' an assembly for all 'anomalies'?" Agni spoke, snapping Luka out of his trance. "Don't like how he said 'anomalies' though… these people's are just as normal as the others, y'know?"

"Hm? Really..? Seems a bit strange, no?" Luka tilted his head. "When's it?"

"In a couple hours actually…" Agni replied, handing over his food… "Here."

"Thanks Agni…" He took the plate, filled with burnt bacon bits and cajun curly fries. Luka ate it with no hesitation.

"No problem, I'm planning on closing up early to head to the assembly. Wanna come with?"

"Sure, I've got nothin' better to do." He nodded as he crunched onto the burnt bacon bits.
