Prologue

Adrian stood patiently at the counter, waiting while the shopkeeper finished checking the name of the medicine on his phone.

The man behind the counter looked up after a moment.

"You're asking about this one?" he said, raising an eyebrow. "Can I know the reason?"

Adrian shrugged slightly. "A friend is taking them. I just wanted to understand what it's used for."

The shopkeeper studied him for a moment, then nodded.

"Well… it's not something people usually take casually." He lowered his voice slightly. "It's often used in hormone treatments. Sometimes by people who are trying to change their gender."

Adrian remained quiet, listening.

The shopkeeper continued, tapping the counter with a finger.

"If your friend is taking them, you should tell him to stop. These aren't harmless pills. If someone uses them without proper medical supervision, the liver can get damaged."

He leaned back slightly.

Adrian stayed silent for a moment before speaking again.

"…What if it already worked?"

The shopkeeper frowned slightly. "What do you mean?"

Adrian shrugged lightly, as if the question was nothing more than casual curiosity.

"I mean… if someone already looks convincing. Like a normal girl?"

The shopkeeper gave a small snort.

"If that's the case, then he probably had a very good doctor. That kind of transformation isn't something you get just by taking pills."

He folded his arms.

"You should be careful around people like that. Of course, if you're interested in that type of person, you can ignore my warning."

Adrian nodded.

"I'll keep your warning in mind, but I'd still like to maintain my friendship."

The shopkeeper gave a short sigh.

"Then don't cry later if he sneaks into your bed."

Ignoring the joke, Adrian thanked him with a heavy heart and stepped out of the shop. The conversation lingered in his mind as he walked toward the bus stand.

With each step, his thoughts drifted to his friend. The first time they met. The countless hours they had spent together since then. Back then, he would have called those moments the happiest in his life.

Now, looking back, he realized something bitter.

Just like always, his luck had chosen the worst possible moment to betray him.

Lost in thought, Adrian barely noticed how far he had walked until the noise of traffic grew louder. The bus stand came into view ahead, crowded with the usual evening rush.

He stepped closer to the curb, his mind still replaying fragments of memories. Laughter. Late conversations. Small moments that had once seemed meaningless but now refused to leave him alone.

A sudden horn cut through his thoughts.

Adrian blinked and looked up just as the bus pulled in front of the stand with a long screech of brakes. The doors folded open.

After gathering himself, he climbed inside.

He quickly found a seat by the window and sank into it, resting his head lightly against the glass. The engine rumbled to life, and soon the city began sliding past outside the window.

Streetlights flickered on one by one. Shops blurred together. People crossed roads, motorcycles rushed past, and the evening slowly deepened.

Adrian watched it all without really seeing it.

Only when the bus slowed again and the familiar stop came into view did he finally stir from his thoughts. The vehicle hissed to a halt.

He stood and stepped off with the other passengers.

A girl got down from the bus at the same time, walking beside a man. Her clothes immediately caught his attention for a brief moment, a short jacket and a skirt so small it barely covered anything. He couldn't tell whether she was some kind of cosplayer or the sort of girl parents warned their children to stay away from.

Not wanting his thoughts to wander in wrong direction, Adrian quickly looked away and resumed walking.

He had barely taken a few steps when he heard the girl behind him call out, asking someone nearby for money.

He ignored it and kept walking until a small roadside stall appeared ahead.

Remembering that he still had to cook later, he decided to buy a couple of sandwiches and a few other snacks. He stuffed them into a plastic bag and continued on his way.

The streets grew quieter the farther he walked toward home.

Some of the shops were already closing, and the people still outside moved with the slow, tired pace of those heading home after a long day.

Adrian adjusted the bag in his hand and continued toward his building.

"Adrian."

He stopped. For a moment he thought his mind was playing tricks on him.

Then he looked up.

The person he had been thinking about stood near the entrance railing.

She leaned casually against the metal bar, as if waiting there had been the most natural thing in the world. Even under the dim streetlight she was impossible to miss. Her tall frame stood out immediately, relaxed but steady in a way that hinted at quiet physical strength.

For a moment Adrian simply stared, his mind still half occupied with the conversation from the pharmacy.

"Oh," he said after a moment. "Elena."

Adrian didn't expect to see you here.

Elena pushed herself off the railing and walked over without answering immediately.

Her eyes moved briefly to the bag in his hand.

"You bought dinner?"

" just some snacks."

Before he could say anything else, she took the bag from his hand.

"That's not good" she said. "You need to eat normal food."

Without waiting for his response she stepped inside as if the place were already familiar to her, leaving Adrian to close the door behind them.

By the time he followed her into the living room, she had set the bag on the table and dropped onto the couch, stretching slightly as if she had just returned to her own home.

Adrian glanced at her. "So why are you here?"

Elena smiled faintly. "I thought we should talk."

Adrian sat down across from her waiting for her to start speaking.

Elena rested her chin on her hand for a moment before answering. "I think it's time our parents met."

Adrian froze. For a moment he thought he had heard her wrong.

"Our parents…?"

"Yes," Elena said calmly. "It would be good for them to meet."

Adrian's mind immediately started racing.

His parents would probably like her. That much was obvious. Elena was tall, confident, and easily impressive. If they met her, they would simply think he was lucky to marry such a beautiful girl.

As for her parents. if what he suspected was true, then they would already understand the situation far better than his own. Which meant the meeting would likely end with both families celebrating, while Adrian would be the only one quietly aware of the problem.

He opened his mouth to refuse, but the words refused to come out.

Rejecting her was probably the sensible choice.

Adrian looked at her calm expression. She was stronger than him.

For a brief moment his mind produced a ridiculous image of her ignoring his rejection and dragging him off to the bedroom like something from a bad movie.

Elena was watching him calmly.

"That doesn't sound good," Adrian said, trying not to make it sound like a rejection. "I mean… just because we're good friends doesn't mean our parents need to meet."

Elena didn't reply immediately. She simply continued looking at him, her expression clearly telling him that's not what I want to hear.

Adrian good felt this approach clearly wasn't working. He took a breath, preparing himself to refuse properly recordless of the situation he would face at bravely as open his mouth to speak.

"No. You better not say something like something like that."

The voice came from nowhere.

It was unmistakably a woman's voice, calm and clear, echoing through the room as if the walls themselves had spoken.

A faint glow appeared on the floor.

Adrian looked down.

A circle of pale light was slowly forming beneath them, lines and symbols spreading outward like something drawn with liquid fire.

"…You've got to be kidding me," he muttered.

This looks like the start of Isekai anime.

Realising what was about to happen, Adrian moved on instinct. He grabbed the carry bag filled with food from the table, then caught the other bag beside it. Who knew? It might be useful if he really was about to end up in another world.

The glowing circle beneath them grew brighter, strange symbols spreading across the floor. After a few seconds, the light vanished and so did they.

Author's Note

I'm writing this in whatever extra time I can steal after finishing a chapter of TPM. Right now, that's still the main focus.

As for Overlord and Ghost Rider, those will be Sunday-only projects. Whenever I actually finish a chapter for them, I'll upload it, but don't expect a fixed schedule there.

This one is different. It's original, something I've been working on alongside the other two stories. Honestly, I wasn't planning to release it this early, but since the fanfiction links got removed, I needed something else out there. So this is more of a draft than a finished product.

If it gets enough support, I'll turn it into a proper novel like (Volume 1, Volume 2, etc.). The goal isn't a web novel format, but something closer to a light novel style.

If you want to support it, you can check out Patreon for early access. It's free for now, and I only have two chapters up, but they're longer—about equal to five web novel chapters.

I'll only be uploading one chapter on public platforms like Wapnovel and ScribbleHub. Updates there will be slow.

Part of the reason is simple—I'm not happy with how some platforms have been handling things lately, especially with links getting removed. Because of that, I'm not planning to fully commit or upload a large number of chapters.

If you want to read more for free, you can check out my Patreon. Even without donating, I'll be posting chapters there ahead of the public release.
