Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Awakening

I knew I was going to die. It wasn't anything new; my body just couldn't take it anymore. I was a kid who, before ending up in this situation, had a family: parents who loved me dearly, but who, unfortunately, had died along with me. I was literally staring at their corpses right now.

"Dad…" I murmured as I looked at my father's body, unresponsive.

And he wasn't doing any better.

I looked down and noticed that I was cut in half, thanks to a sharp blade from the cargo truck that had fallen on us.

The boy would look at his parents one last time… though he couldn't see his mother.

"I just hope I get to see them again," I thought as my eyes turned white and my head fell to the ground with a dull thud.

It was a strange feeling. At first, my body seemed to block all pain, and then… I simply felt nothing. It was… beautiful.

"Is this heaven?" I asked, my eyes still closed. There was a weird sensation in them, but it didn't bother me.

Then, after a few minutes, I opened my eyes.

I observed the place: filled with stunning hills, the kind that are breathtaking simply because they exist.

"Is this heaven?" I said as I slowly got up.

I looked at my hands: my skin tone was deeper. I wasn't wearing a white robe, like I expected in the afterlife.

I had on a blue shirt and light-blue pants, and strangely, it felt like the clothes were part of me… and yet, not.

"How comfortable," I said as I stood and looked from the hill at the barely rising sun.

"If this is the afterlife… I want to stay here," I said with a smile.

Instantly, I began walking… then running, smiling as I dashed across the hills.

The smile on my face was incredible.

I looked to the side and noticed the impressive mountains; there were even floating islands, which made my grin grow even wider.

"Wuuuujuuuuu!" I shouted as, out of nowhere, I started to fly.

By reflex, I tried to look at my wings.

"Huh?" I said, confused, not seeing the classic angel wings.

"How strange…" I said, hovering in the sky.

"Shouldn't I have wings?" I asked, confused.

"Isn't there anyone to help me? I want to see my parents," I shouted just in case, looking around frantically.

I stayed silent, waiting for an answer.

The silence deepened, and that scared me a little.

"Wait… fear? Shouldn't I not feel this?" I thought.

I panicked quickly, and for that reason, I stopped flying and fell to the ground.

"Shit… shit… wait, shouldn't I be cursing?" I said as my fall echoed across the area.

Smoke began to rise, and in the middle of the crater, a person stood with their head bowed.

"What?" I said, confused, noticing I hadn't been harmed at all.

I exhaled in relief; I didn't want injuries, especially from such a height.

I shook my head as panic grew inside me.

"Where the hell am I…?" I whispered.

From our protagonist's perspective:

"Alright," I said, looking toward a mountain.

"This isn't heaven," I said, wiping away some tears.

"I also can't feel my physical body… it's like I'm a hologram or light, something weird," I added, clenching my fist.

"And another thing I don't get…" I said, leaning over the river, where beautiful fish swam, though that wasn't what I wanted to see.

I looked at my reflection and observed my face: fine features, large ears, somewhat long hair… but the most important thing:

"My eyes… no pupils," I said, blinking several times in confusion.

"I look like that Minecraft creepypasta," I thought.

Then I stayed there with a "watafak" face.

I looked at my clothes. I looked at my reflection.

"Shit," I said, standing up from the shock.

"So… am I in Minecraft?" I asked, confused.

But nothing was blocky, I thought even more bewildered, since in Minecraft everything is… blocky.

I looked at my hand; it felt stronger. Now that I noticed, it seemed like I could break something.

I looked at the ground, and instinctively, I tried hitting it… and guess what:

"Holy shit!" I shouted as I watched a perfect cube form where I had tried to strike.

"Fascinating," I said, observing the hole I had just made.

"So then…" I said as I rose from the riverbank.

I looked at the starry sky; the place was incredible, the world I had fallen into.

"I don't know where Mom and Dad are… and I hope they're okay, because apparently, I've been blessed with creativity," I said with a calm smile as tears ran down my face. I opened my arms.

I wouldn't worry about them anymore. I would miss them—that was clear from my tears—but if I had been blessed to exist in this world as an immortal being, capable of building and being whatever I wanted… then I hoped my parents were doing well too.

Margaret and Joshua. Two amazing people. The best I had known in my short seventeen years of life.

The wind blew through my clothes, moving almost epically.

I was just praying for my parents. Because, if someone put me here… who else but God? I simply thanked Him for His grace toward me.

After what felt like a few minutes, I lowered my hands.

"I don't think my old name fits me anymore," I said, looking at the stars, noticing how some creatures began to appear.

I observed the creatures; some looked decayed.

"Yes… I guessed it," I said, confused.

Minecraft monsters. Harmless by day. Hostile by night… though…

I cautiously approached a skeleton. It looked at me confused, but didn't attack.

"Fascinating," I said, touching it. For some reason, I didn't fear it. It felt like part of me.

The skeleton looked at me confused but did nothing. It let me touch it.

"Hey, how are you?" I asked.

The skeleton just stared.

"Ah, right…" I said, standing beside it."Only I can talk, huh?" I asked a little embarrassed.

The skeleton gave a slight nod with its skull.

I looked at the bow it held in its hand, and instinctively, I summoned one just like it.

The skeleton stared silently. Obviously, it couldn't speak, but if it had a mouth, it would say:

"What the hell?"

And I, holding the bow, also said:

"What the hell?"

We both looked at my bow. It was different from his.

"Let's see…" I said, aiming at a creeper.

I released the string.

The arrow shot out, and as if by magic, hit with perfect precision.

The creeper didn't even notice before being pierced.

After killing it, I felt something strange.

"Huh?" I said, confused, looking at my hand.

An egg appeared in it.

"A creeper egg?" I murmured.

"Wait… do I have an inventory?" I thought.

At that moment, an inventory appeared in front of me.

"Damn…" I whispered.

But it was empty.

"It's like creative mode… but empty," I said, confused.

Remembering the egg, I mentally moved it into the inventory.

"Ahhhh…" I murmured, understanding.

"If I get the material or the creature… I can summon it. It's like a collection," I said, bringing my hand to my chin.

The skeleton, who had seen me kill the creeper effortlessly, stayed completely still to avoid being next.

"Can I really summon it just like that?" I asked, placing the egg on the ground.

Out of nowhere, the egg hatched, and a creeper walked out calmly. I felt a much stronger connection with it than with the skeleton.

I looked at the skeleton, who was stiffer than the tree beside me.

"Why are you like that?" I asked, confused.

It didn't answer.

"I'm not going to kill you," I said, realizing my earlier mistake.

The skeleton "sighed"; in reality, its bones rattled together.

I looked at the sky. The sun was already rising.

The skeleton noticed it too and began walking toward a tree to avoid the sun.

I looked to the side and saw a cave. I looked back at the skeleton and, without thinking, grabbed it.

It didn't have time to react as I quickly carried it into the cave.

The skeleton looked at me with a "watafak" face.

"For being the first creature to see me," I said, winking, and walked toward the entrance.

The skeleton stared for a few more seconds before staying inside the cave, while other mobs also began approaching to shelter from the sun.

"So…" I said as the sun illuminated my face, and my pupil-less eyes reflected it.

"I'm in real-life 4K Minecraft," I said, as if it were obvious. Which, clearly, it was.

I looked at my hands.

The power to create anything I wanted. To be anything I wanted.

I smiled as I floated into the air.

"It's time to explore and collect items," I said with determination.

I began flying slowly… until, out of nowhere, I accelerated, soaring through the sky with ease.

"This world is going to be amazing," I said with a grin.

I said this as I flew… until I looked down.

"Huh?" I said, confused, noticing a strange area… like dead land.

I quickly descended to investigate.

"I don't remember this in Minecraft," I murmured, puzzled.

I landed calmly and began exploring the place.

The ground was dry, cracked, lifeless.

Then I saw it.

A strange structure.

"Could it have mods?" I said, observing it closely. The structure radiated a strange, soft, yet constant light.

"Strange…" I murmured.

It wasn't a perfect cube. It was too smooth. Too… polished.

"Oh well. Anyway, I seem to have a good memory, so I'll remember this," I said, making a mental note of the place.

After that, I didn't question it further.

I rose into the air and continued flying toward new adventures in this world.

Unaware that this world wasn't the world I thought it was.

When I was already far away, the structure emitted a faint pulse.

The light flickered for a second.

And something, deep inside that building, was activated.
