Everything changed in the year 2037. That was when a mysterious energy known as ether, hailing from an unknown dimension, flooded the universe. Its arrival gave birth to superhumans wielding extraordinary abilities and tore open a breach to an alternate realm called Purgatory, a gateway through which demons, driven by conquest and ruled by the Demon Calamities, began to invade the world. Among humanity, twelve individuals were born with ether powers beyond all comprehension. They came to be known as the Twelve Gods, some noble, others corrupted by the overwhelming strength they possessed. One of them is Belial Blackcastle, the feared God of Destruction. Despite growing up despised and feared by the very world he inhabits, Belial attends the prestigious Luciel Academy and swears to protect humanity from the demonic threat. Hated by the people, burdened by his title, and armed with unimaginable power, Belial must prove that even a god of destruction can choose to be a savior.
