Chapter 1 - Volume 1 – The Awakening of Eight Elements

Chapter 1A – Prologue: The Light from the Jakarta Truck

The night sky over Jakarta looked like a gray ocean that had lost its stars.Rain fell softly, tapping against the wet pavement with a sorrowful rhythm. Streetlights flickered dimly, and amidst the tired crowd stood a young man in a worn black jacket — Reza.

He was only twenty-four, but his face carried the exhaustion of someone twice his age.A monotonous office job, a life of endless routines, and childhood dreams buried under bills and unpaid overtime.

"Funny," Reza muttered, staring at his reflection in a puddle. "I used to dream of being a hero… now I'm just a guy racing deadlines."

The rain grew heavier. People ran for shelter, but Reza stayed where he was, watching the red traffic light glow faintly like a dying ember in his eyes.

Life felt… empty.

And then—

HOOOOONK!

A blaring horn shattered the silence.A bright white light flashed. A container truck, its brakes screaming, skidded out of control — and in a heartbeat, Reza's world turned into blinding light and the sound of twisting metal.

Time stopped. The rain froze midair, the world went silent. He stood in an endless white space — weightless, formless, like a forgotten thought.

"Did I… die?" he whispered.

From afar, a golden radiance emerged — soft, yet commanding.A woman descended from the light, her hair flowing like sunlight, eyes deep and calm as the stars. Her white gown shimmered like rippling water.

"Welcome, lost soul between worlds," said the woman, her voice like a gentle melody."I am Lumina, Goddess of Light from the world of Shōsetsu no Sekai."

Reza froze. Her presence soothed him, yet beneath her kindness was something eternal — something divine.

"A goddess…? So, I really died?" he asked.

Lumina smiled faintly."Your body in your world has stopped breathing, but your soul remains unbroken. I have summoned you, for my world teeters on the edge of collapse. We need a strong heart from another realm."

Reza frowned. "Another world?"

"Yes. A world where imagination shapes reality — the world called Shōsetsu no Sekai."

The blank white void transformed into a breathtaking panorama — floating mountains, twin suns above the sky, and a silver sea shimmering in the distance.

Reza's breath caught. "It's… beautiful."

"But this beauty is fading," Lumina said solemnly. "The Demon King, Agramor, has risen, and his army devours the light. Many heroes have fallen. But you, Reza… your heart is different."

Reza chuckled bitterly. "Different? I couldn't even hold onto my job."

Lumina stepped closer, her blue eyes glowing warmly."You possess something rare — the will to believe, even after losing everything."

A golden glow flowed from her hands, wrapping around him. His body burned — not painfully, but with surging power.

"With my blessing, you shall command the eight elements: fire, water, earth, wind, ice, lightning, darkness, and light. And one unique gift — the power to influence hearts, particularly those of women."

Reza blinked. "Wait— you mean… mind control!?"

"Not to dominate," Lumina replied softly, "but to understand, to connect, and to bring harmony. Our world is fragile, Reza. Only unity of hearts can save it."

The light flared brighter.

Reza looked at her, uncertain. "And if I fail?"

Lumina's expression softened — a sad, hopeful smile."Then our world will vanish. But I believe in you, Reza of the mortal world."

In a burst of light, his body fell through swirling energy and shadow.Lumina's voice echoed one last time:

"Rise, Controller of the Eight Elements — Arbiter of Shōsetsu no Sekai."

Reza opened his eyes.Warm air brushed his face. Beneath him was soft grass, above him — two suns glowing in the orange sky.

He stared at his hands, now stronger, glowing faintly with moving runes."So… this is another world?"

A breeze swept past, carrying the scent of earth and wildflowers.Somewhere in the distance, a flute played — then, a loud roar.

A massive black wolf with two heads burst from the forest, its eyes burning red.

Reza's pulse quickened — not from fear, but excitement."Alright then," he said, taking a breath. "If this really is another world, it's time to rewrite my fate."

He raised his hand.A fiery sigil flared on his back. The air trembled — and flames erupted from the ground.

"Fire Burst!"

The explosion consumed the beast. As the blaze raged under the twin suns, Reza smiled for the first time in years — not the tired smile of a worker, but the determined grin of a reborn hero.

Chapter 1B – The World Beneath Two Suns

The twin suns of Shōsetsu no Sekai bathed the plains in warm golden light.Reza sat beside a lake, staring at his reflection — longer hair, sharper eyes, a stronger frame.

"I'm really in another world," he murmured. "But… why me? Can I really defeat the Demon King alone?"

The wind whispered gently — and a familiar voice echoed in his mind.

"Reza…"

"Lumina?" he said, standing.

Her image appeared faintly above him, shimmering."I can only appear briefly," she said. "Your power is unstable. I came to tell you something important."

Reza nodded. "What is it?"

"In this world, power doesn't come only from elements. It comes from bonds. You possess a rare ability — Elemental Contract. Use it wisely."

"Elemental… Contract?"

Lumina raised her hand, and eight-colored runes formed a circle in the air.

"Every woman whose heart connects with yours — if her element resonates with yours — can lend you her power. Touch her heart with pure intent, recite the mantra, and her strength becomes yours for one minute."

Reza stared, amazed. "So… a magic contract?"

"Yes. But beware, Reza. The stronger your bond, the stronger the power. Yet greed will destroy your soul."

Her light began to fade."Use your gift not to rule, but to protect. This world will test you."

"Wait— Lumina!" he shouted. "There's still so much I don't understand!"

But the light vanished, leaving only a whisper of wind.

Reza sighed. "Elemental Contract, huh? Guess I'll figure it out."

He walked into the forest, its leaves shimmering under the twin suns. Birds chirped; the air was alive with magic.

Suddenly — a scream.

"AAAAAARGH!!"

Reza sprinted toward it. A girl with fiery red hair fought a giant magma-scaled lizard.

She raised her staff. "Flare Spiral!"

Flames struck the beast — but its rocky hide held firm.

Reza didn't hesitate. He summoned fire from the earth — a spontaneous instinct."Let's see what I can do!"

The flame struck the creature's flank, giving the girl an opening. She fired again — and the monster fell, smoldering.

The girl turned, astonished. "You just used fire magic… without a catalyst?"

Reza shrugged. "Guess I did. First time trying."

"I'm Ardelia Flamehart, mage of the Flareon Kingdom. And you are?"

"Reza," he replied. "I think I'm… new to this world."

Her eyes widened. "New…? You mean, from outside Shōsetsu no Sekai?"

Reza smiled faintly. "Maybe. But I'm here to learn — and fight, if I have to."

Suddenly, the ground shook. Two larger beasts emerged from the trees.

"Damn it!" Ardelia hissed. "They regenerate fast — and my mana's low!"

Reza glanced at his hands, flames flickering at his fingertips."Alright… time to test that contract."

He faced Ardelia. "What's your element?"

"Fire. Why—"

Before she could finish, Reza placed his hand over his chest and met her eyes."Trust me."

Ardelia froze — yet something about his voice calmed her.He pressed his hand to her forehead, whispering:

"Seiryou no Keiyaku — Yadoru Honoo, Watashi ni Chikara o!"(Contract of Flowing Flame — lend me your power!)

A crimson sigil glowed between them. The air trembled; heat swirled violently as their auras fused.

"What… what is this?" Ardelia gasped.

"Elemental Contract," Reza said. "Just borrowing your strength."

His eyes flared red.The flames in his hands turned golden — Dragonfire.

With one strike, he unleashed a blazing inferno. The monsters disintegrated in a roar of flame, the ground trembling beneath the explosion.

For one minute, Reza was fire incarnate.

When it ended, he dropped to his knees, exhausted.

Ardelia stared in awe. "You… just cast a high-tier spell without chanting."

Reza smiled weakly. "Yeah. But it only lasts a minute."

She looked at the faint crimson mark still glowing on her chest."Elemental Contract, huh? I think… I want to learn more about you, Reza."

Reza gazed at the twin suns setting over the horizon."Yeah," he said softly. "Because this… is only the beginning."
