Chapter 1 - End of the World?!

Franklin was lost for words when he stared out his window of his 'room'. He was just woken up from his nap by a loud screech, at first he thought it was just a vehicle that lost control..... but boy, he couldn't have prepared himself for what he saw outside of his window.

What he saw outside was absolute chaos, pure unbridled chaos and carnage. He froze in shock as he saw them..... Monsters everywhere in the streets of New York. These monsters looked like they crawled out of the Gates of Hell. Speaking of Gates of Hell, there was an enormous crack in space in the sky where the monsters keep pouring out.

Franklin muttered in shock "It's the end of the world". In just a few seconds of watching what was happening in the streets of Brooklyn, he noticed the Hell Monsters weren't just killing for the sake of it. They were feasting on humans. He quickly closed his window shutters and hurried to the front door of his apartment making sure it's locked up from the inside then barricaded it with some of his furniture. He then backtracked from the door and started panicking " Oh my God, monsters, I'm dead".

He looked for his phone and started 'scrolling' through his contacts----Chipotle, McDonald's, Domino's, Starbucks..... before widening his eyes in realization. He had no life, no family, no friends, no bitches. He was all alone before the world began to end and he will be all alone when he dies when the world ends. Thinking about that, he quickly shook his head in resolution " No! I will not wait around for death like it's already over for me. I need to get out of here, one of those huge ass monsters could level up this apartment building. There are bound to be some sort of safe zones for civilians made by some high ranking government officials".

With that in mind, he quickly ran into his 'kitchen' and picked up some knives for protection. He then moved the barricades in the door away from it to access the doorway.

When he finally made it out of the apartment building, the sight that greeted him made his stomach turn. The Gates of Hell above had stopped spewing monsters, but the damage was done. Smoke choked the air. Blood painted the sidewalks. People lay scattered across the street, some dead, others torn apart beyond recognition.

The smell hit him next, burning metal, charred flesh, sulfur. He gagged, covering his mouth. This carnage he was seeing was what he would describe as Evil at its worst. He quickly ran down the streets while trying to take the most subtle corners on the street for better maneuvering and also to hide from the monsters. Franklin didn't imagine that he would awaken from his nap one day to witness the apocalypse. Sure, He jokes about it online with some other enthusiasts but he never actually thinks it will happen.

Franklin thought in despair"l mean I usually joke about being rich and popular, why didn't that actually happen?! Why does it have to be the apocalypse?!". He sprinted down the streets of Brooklyn that was always packed with people but now littered in their corpses. He tripped on what seemed to be a chewed out female body. He glanced back at the corpse and couldn't help but be stunned" Damn, Even a 9 out of 10 baddie wasn't spared.....I need to pick up my pace".

Before he could get up, his body froze in fear from some formless pressure. He quickly snapped his head up only to lock his gaze with a dog blacker than the night and the size of an SUV that was salivating on the ground as if it just saw a cuisine.

Franklin's throat tightened. The beast's eyes glowed like dying embers, locked on him. He stumbled back, his palms scraping asphalt, the air thick with rot and smoke. The Hell Hound's claws tore into the pavement as it lunged at him

Franklin rolled aside wildly. A gust of wind and a flash of teeth grazed his cheek. He crawled backward, heartbeat slamming in his ears. His mind screamed for an escape route, but his body froze again as the creature snarled. Its breath reeked of blood and ash.

"Please don't eat me, Eat the baddie." he muttered. The hound crouched lower, muscles tightening. Franklin grabbed the nearest thing—a rusty stop sign pole that had snapped in half. He swung it wildly. The metal bounced off the creature's jaw with a hollow clang. It didn't even flinch.

The hound slammed into him, sending him flying against a wrecked car. Pain shot through his ribs. He coughed, seeing stars, as the beast approached slowly this time—mocking, certain of its kill. Franklin scrambled to his feet, gripping the broken sign like a spear." I shouldn't have left the apartment, now I'm gonna die".

He tried to thrust it forward, but the hound batted it away. The impact sent it spinning—straight into a leaking car beside them. Sparks flared as the jagged metal scraped the ground. Franklin fell backward again, bracing for the bite.

Then the car exploded.

The blast threw both of them apart. Franklin hit the ground hard, ears ringing, dust choking his lungs. He forced himself up, blinking through the haze. The hound lay motionless, half its body scorched.

He stared for several seconds, dumbfounded.

"…Did I just… win?"

A faint ding echoed in his mind.

[ SOUL RECORD NOTIFICATION]

> {Hell Hound killed! +10 Soul Points}

Franklin looked around, trembling. "I swear I didn't even mean to do that…... But A win is a win I don't care what y'all say".

He laughed once...short, hollow, and unbelieving—as the first line of glowing text appeared before his eyes.
