Chapter 1 - Day of the Blessing

The morning sky was bright, but the academy square felt tense. Today, all first-year students would receive their system blessing. Their talents, classes, and futures would be decided. This was an important day for all of them.

For those who received unremarkable powers, they would be looked down upon. The academy would not even provide adequate facilities for them. Their lives would become truly difficult.

One by one the students stepped forward. One by one lights ignited above their heads. Nothing interesting appeared even after an hour passed.

Green stood for ordinary talent.

Blue for the gifted.

Red for the rare.

And gold... for the legendary few.

Only a few children were blessed with golden light. Those who received the golden light were favored by the Gods. They were destined to be future leaders for the safety of humanity.

When it was the turn of a student named Leran Valdir, the whole field cheered. He was one of the students who had shown exceptional ability. He had a large Mana capacity. He had competent combat skills, but he had not yet received a blessing.

Today was the day he had been waiting for.

"Place your hand on the altar!" the proctor ordered.

Leran placed his hand on the altar and a second later a golden Light enveloped his body. It shone so brightly that people there turned their faces away.

The Light began to fade and everyone could see Leran's class and talents.

[Class Unlocked: Holy Knight] [Skill: Divine Smite, Etc.] [Golden-tier talent! You possess a large Mana capacity and affinity with light and holy elements!]

Everyone was stunned by what stood before them. Not only were they shocked by the words on the large screen, but Leran's body was wrapped in armor-shaped light and a spirit in the form of a woman stood behind him.

The spirit was sleeping. Her whole body was made of light. Everyone who saw it could only admire and swallow in awe. Eventually the spirit began to fade and enter Leran's body.

"Unbelievable! Holy Knight and a spirit! This... is really impossible." "He is truly extraordinary." "Leran Valdir has no doubt been outstanding. During training he stood out the most. It is not surprising he would receive such a great blessing." "You're right. He will surely join the S group later!"

Cheers erupted. Everyone was amazed. Praise after praise was directed at Leran. Until finally Leran stepped down from the altar and returned to his line. He was then directed to a new row that consisted of himself alone.

While people were still talking about Leran, another name was called.

"Revan Kestrel. Step forward!" the proctor announced.

The voice made the crowd fall silent for a moment... then it turned into mocking whispers. The mood completely shifted. There was no praise at all. Revan was a weak boy with a thin body, weary eyes, and a lazy demeanor.

He was always at the bottom during the first-year training. He stood in stark contrast to Leran, who was often at the top.

"That failure?" "They say he has the smallest Mana capacity. What could he possibly get from that? Impossible that someone like him would receive a golden-tier blessing."

The other students nodded in agreement. Mana capacity was an indicator that showed a student's combat talent. A small amount of Mana would yield a low-tier blessing. Conversely, a large amount would yield a higher-tier blessing. Because of that, talented kids could already be predicted even before the Day of Blessing began.

Only a few deviated from that.

"Why did he even come?" "If I were him, I'd go home and lock myself in my room forever." "Embarrassing."

Revan inhaled slowly. He walked forward with calm steps, staring at the altar ahead. The taunts hurled at him did not make him falter. He did not even seem to care about the words. He showed no reaction to the insults.

"Place your hand!" the proctor ordered.

Revan placed his hand on the altar, but nothing happened. No light appeared. Everyone there fell silent. Finally a message appeared on the screen.

[Scanning Soul Core...] [Class: None.] [Unique Skill obtained!] [Skill: Unlimited Gacha (Daily)]

Silence. Then laughter broke out.

"Gacha?!" "That is not a combat skill!" "He didn't even produce light! That shows how trashy his blessing is." "So embarrassing!"

Revan only bowed his head. He had expected this reaction. But he did not answer. He did not reply to the taunts and insults. He simply stared at the screen in front of him. He zoned out for a long moment until the proctor began to speak.

The proctor tapped his staff. "Show us, Revan! Use your skill! I want to see how useful this ability of yours is."

Revan nodded without hesitation. "All right."

[Unlimited Gacha - 1x draw available.]

He pressed the "Draw" button.

Light swirled... and then a cloth doll appeared in his hands.

A brief silence. Then...

"HAHAHA!" "A doll?! So that's your power?!" "Completely useless!"

Everyone laughed. Even the proctor just shook his head in disappointment. No one was interested in Revan's ability. Moreover, the skill could only be used once a day. And he had no class. That was truly bad news.

"Step down! I will consider your ability later!" the proctor said.

Revan nodded. "Thank you."

Revan stepped down from the stage. He did not resist. He did not speak much. He simply accepted all the words that came from people's mouths.

He now stared quietly at the doll, then put it away.

As he walked away from the crowd, a system window appeared before him. A system window that only he could see.

[Congratulations! You obtained: Legendary monster - The Bunny and Girl.]

Revan's gaze turned cold. He knew the doll was just a trick. An ordinary item he had taken out of his inventory, not the real result of the gacha. The true thing... must not be seen by anyone.

Old memories slipped in. Blood. Betrayal. The first dungeon. His friends who had once praised him... who stabbed him in the back and left him to die in the dark.

Revan closed his eyes. But this time it was different. He returned to the past. He knew everything. And he had already decided his next moves.

Not the S-tier team. Not a big guild. Not fake friends.

This time, he would enter Group F - the outcasts, the losers, and the unwanted.

He clenched his hands tightly.

"I will make them all bow." "Group F will become the strongest." "And I will destroy everyone who has ever betrayed me."
