Chapter 1: Transmigration! Skye Is My Assistant!

United States of America.

New York.

Inside an office of roughly a hundred square meters, a young, handsome man sat staring blankly out the window at the blue sky and drifting clouds.

What was transmigration like?

Having experienced it for less than a week, Herman Chu felt there was probably nothing worse in the world.

Yes.

The dazed young man was Herman Chu.

A transmigrator.

And the world he had crossed into was none other than the legendary Marvel Universe.

His old 9-to-9, six-days-a-week grind might have been grueling, but compared to aliens, gods, demons, and other chaotic threats, what were greedy capitalists? Thanos, the director of the Population Control Commission, was the true terror!

"From Iron Man's debut to Thanos' arrival, only a few years pass… can my cheat really make me strong enough to stand against Thanos?"

Herman also had a cheat, though it didn't feel nearly as powerful as those his transmigrator predecessors had boasted.

He still remembered that sunny afternoon when a female colleague asked him to pick up a bag of snail noodles. On his way to the store, he passed by a small street stall.

The kind piled high with scrap metal and junk, waiting for some gullible sucker to take the bait. Among it all, Herman's eyes locked on a small sculpture labeled All-Seeing Eye.

A foreign trinket mixed into a Chinese antique stall?

Curiosity got the better of him, and after a round of the vendor's smooth talk, Herman ended up paying five hundred yuan for the so-called All-Seeing Eye.

In reality, it was just the design found on US dollar bills, symbolizing the all-knowing, omnipotent God watching over mankind. As someone who enjoyed flashy blockbusters, Herman simply treated it as a Western collectible with a touch of historical flair.

He had always liked collecting strange odds and ends—not only exquisite anime figurines, but all sorts of peculiar trinkets.

It should have been an ordinary day. Yet after a bathroom skirmish with his colleague who'd eaten the snail noodles, Herman never imagined that on his way home, clutching the All-Seeing Eye, disaster would strike.

Maybe that truck flying down the road at 200 miles per hour should really be called the "Interdimensional Transmigration Travelers Management Association's" official escort vehicle?

At that speed… Herman couldn't believe the driver wasn't just trying to hit year-end performance targets. In any case, the truck didn't kill him outright.

Instead, it hurled him straight into the Marvel Universe. Just as the truck was about to hit, the ancient figurine in his arms burst into brilliant light.

And then—

Herman transmigrated, leaving behind only a new unsolved mystery back on Earth: "Shock! Spiritual energy revival—cultivators forced into the open?"

Unlike most who transmigrate by taking over someone else's body, Herman had crossed with his own.

In a way, it was a silver lining in a bad situation. After all, he still had the same body that once led to a steamy bathroom fling with a gorgeous coworker—all thanks to a bowl of noodles!

Just as Herman was recalling his tragic ordeal...

"Director! An investor is interested in your script! He's waiting in the conference room right now!"

A girl in a black business skirt suit burst into the office, her face glowing with excitement. She had refined features, smooth skin, and a pair of long legs wrapped in black pantyhose.

If not for her brash, carefree demeanor, she might have looked exactly like the archetype of a glamorous secretary.

"Skye, how many times have I told you? Stay composed, stay calm. I'm a major director, and as my assistant, you should be just as unshaken."

Herman raised an eyebrow. Though inwardly delighted, he put on a stern, lecturing air as he looked at the girl.

Skye.

Real name: Daisy.

A descendant of the Inhumans, gifted with powerful shockwave abilities.

A future pillar of S.H.I.E.L.D... That Herman had managed to make her his secretary all came down to a chance encounter right after his transmigration.

Convincing a Marvel character to become his right-hand was surprisingly easy—after all, Skye was still just a rookie.

As for Herman? No exaggeration—he was a scoundrel of the highest order. The kind of man who earned three thousand a month yet somehow kept at least a hundred thousand sitting in his bank account.

Not from shady side jobs either. His online girlfriends simply couldn't stand the thought of him suffering over instant noodles, so they'd rush to send him money.

"Big-shot director? I still can't figure out how you managed to make that thought-provoking epic Apocalypse! I never should've signed that damn contract with you! Chasing Hollywood Dreams bankrupted the investors and drove them to jump off buildings!"

Skye glared at him, her eyes wide with frustration. She had been tricked into working for him, convinced that following Herman would mean living the good life.

Who would've thought… this guy turned out to be a total has-been director!

"Everyone hits a low point—me included. But things are different now. I have a feeling my new project will set the whole country on fire."

"See? There's already an investor who believes in my script." Herman deliberately ignored Skye's resentful stare.

His confidence in his script was absolute.

In other worlds, the genre might flop, but here in the Marvel universe… he was certain it would be the key to completing his identity-specific mission.

Yes.

Identity-specific mission.

Herman had only been in this world for seven days. There was no way he had already paved his way to wealth and success in Marvel through plagiarism alone.

The reason Skye called him a has-been director was simple: it was all because of the cheat that brought him here.

In truth, those movies Skye mentioned had never been directed by him at all. They were simply credited to him by his cheat's arrangement.
