Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Reality Rewritten! A New Identity Every Week!

Back then.

When Herman Chu realized he had physically transmigrated, he knew all too well that in Marvel, the Ancient One kept a close watch on outsiders. His first fear was being summoned for tea by the Sorcerer Supreme.

But tea was the least of his worries.

What truly terrified him was total annihilation.

For someone like the Ancient One, erasing an unknown outsider wouldn't even require asking their opinion. A sorcerer capable of striking fear into countless demons was never going to be some merciful saint. Herman worried that once the ruthlessly decisive Ancient One noticed him, she would kill him on the spot.

Fortunately, he soon discovered his cheat—a terrifying power that could only be described as godlike, one that eased his anxiety.

[World Locked]

[Your Level: Mortal]

[Every seven days, while retaining your other identities, you will receive a new random identity. A stable channel has been established within the spacetime framework.]

This was the unique ability granted by the All-Seeing Eye after Herman transmigrated. It was as though he had fused with the All-Seeing Eye sculpture itself. In his mind, the All-Seeing Eye had taken shape like a system.

Each week, the All-Seeing Eye could generate a new identity for him within the Marvel Universe. Whether this seven-day cycle was somehow tied to God's seven days of creation was anyone's guess.

Either way—

Altering reality.

Rewriting identities.

Such abilities were nothing short of defying the heavens.

Herman thought that if he ever drew the One-Above-All identity, he might just replace the original outright. With that thought in mind, he drew his first starting identity.

Of course, thinking about it was one thing; reality was another. The All-Seeing Eye, with all its terrifying might, granted him a benefit so trivial it was laughable.

Like using a dragon-slaying blade to butcher a chicken.

[Bronze-Level Identity – Fallen Director]

[Note – Once activated, this identity becomes permanent!]

[On the surface, you are a nameless visitor from another world. In truth, you were once a sensational genius director in this one.]

[You once directed the blockbuster hit Apocalypse, but in the years since, every film you made has bombed.]

[This year, your film Chasing Dreams in Hollywood bankrupted its investors so badly one committed suicide, earning you a complete Hollywood blacklist.]

[With no other options, you've turned to television, hoping to find success there and one day make a triumphant return to Hollywood.]

This was Herman's very first identity in the Marvel Universe.

It also explained why, in this world, he already had several works to his name.

When the identity was granted, the system rewrote reality itself.

In this world's history, a whole chapter about Herman Chu suddenly appeared out of nowhere...

Granted, this identity gave him no real combat strength.

But along with it, Herman gained the professional skills of a director—the kind of expertise expected from a fallen but once-great filmmaker.

In truth, the directing skills didn't matter much to him. The real benefit was that he no longer had to worry about being exposed as undocumented. Even if the Ancient One dug into his past, Herman was now a native-born citizen of this universe.

No one would ever suspect that there was anything wrong with his identity.

"Big shot director, it's been seven days already... and only one investor has shown up! The other rich folks have even blocked your number!"

"I suggest you hold onto this wealthy sucker. If you can't pay my salary by month's end, I won't let you off easy!"

Skye clenched her little fists, her expression looking fiercely cute. She was only about seventeen years old at the time.

"Don't worry, you won't be shortchanged a single penny." Herman chuckled softly, holding absolute confidence in the script he'd personally transcribed.

Along with acquiring his new identity, the All-Seeing Eye also issued a quest.

Simply by producing a phenomenon-level TV series and completing the so-called "King's Return" storyline, he could obtain an identity-exclusive reward.

Though it was merely a Bronze-level identity, the exclusive reward was already quite tempting—Herman could gain a significant boost to his physical prowess.

"Hurry up and put on that suit of yours that looks decent! Don't keep the investor waiting too long! I'll go make him a cup of tea first!"

Skye gave a serious reminder before leaving the office.

She genuinely worried the investor might grow impatient and leave... She was counting on Herman upgrading her computer's graphics card with his next paycheck.

At this moment, Skye wasn't just a formidable hacker—she was also a hardcore gamer. After Skye departed, Herman remained seated in the office, waiting. His delay in completing the identity mission stemmed from something far more urgent awaiting his attention.

Skye's earlier words had already hinted at it.

Today.

It had been the seventh day since Herman's Transmigration.

According to the abilities of the All-Seeing Eye, today was the day he could draw a new identity.

Herman had been spacing out in the office, reminiscing about the Transmigration process, essentially waiting for time—waiting for the countdown in his mind's All-Seeing Eye to end.

"Wonder if I'll draw a decent identity this time." Herman didn't think he was being greedy; he just wanted to become the world's richest person or something like that.

Of course.

Becoming Tony Stark's biological father wasn't out of the question either. Though given his current age, fathering a son in his thirties seemed rather improbable.

Unless he engaged in time travel and... well, let's just say he could potentially... Huh? In the Marvel Universe, where time travel exists, maybe it wasn't impossible after all?

10!

9!

8!

...

1!

As Herman's mind wandered, the countdown in his mind's All-Seeing Eye slowly concluded.

Once again, Herman felt the entire world enter a peculiar state of stasis.

It was an exceptionally unique condition—everything in the world seemed to halt its operation at that moment, as if the entire planet had been frozen in time.

From his previous identity extraction, no deity had come knocking—perhaps even the supreme gods of the universe were frozen in this state.

[World Access Permissions Complete!]

[Weekly Identity Acquisition Complete!]

Within his mind, that pupil, symbolizing the Eye of God, pulsed with a flicker of multicolored halos before finally settling upon a dazzling golden hue!
