Chapter 1 - THE BATTLE BEYOND

The otherworld had become a nightmare.

Goku floated in the ethereal realm, his orange gi rippling in the supernatural winds as reality itself seemed to bend and twist around them.

Beside him, was Vegeta with his arms crossed, his jaw clenched in barely contained fury as they watched the chaos unfold.

"This is getting out of hand, Vegeta," Goku said, his usual carefree tone replaced by genuine concern. "That guy is tearing holes between dimensions. If this keeps up..."

"The barrier between life and death will collapse entirely," Vegeta finished, his voice cold. "Kakarot, for once in your miserable life, you're actually thinking clearly."

Below them, the colorful demon Janemba laughed maniacally, his rainbow-hued energy crackling as he continued to warp the fabric of reality.

Dead souls that should have been peacefully processed were escaping back to the living world, and the natural order that had existed for millennia was crumbling.

"We can't beat him separately," Goku admitted, powering down from Super Saiyan 3.

The golden aura flickered and died around him, his hair returning to its natural black. The transformation was draining too much energy too quickly. "I hate to say it, but..."

"Fusion," Vegeta spat, his pride warring with necessity. "I despise that ridiculous dance, Kakarot."

"Come on, Vegeta! It's our only shot. You know we can take him if we work together."

Vegeta's eyes narrowed as he watched Janemba casually tear another hole in reality with a simple gesture.

The demon wasn't even trying hard, and that fact alone made the Saiyan Prince's blood boil.

"Fine," Vegeta growled, his white gloves clenching into fists. "But after this, I never want to hear about that embarrassing dance again."

They positioned themselves side by side, both warriors dropping into identical stances. Their power levels synchronized perfectly as they began the ancient ritual.

"Fu..." Goku began, stepping to his right with practiced precision, his arms extending outward.

"...sion..." Vegeta continued through gritted teeth, mirroring the movement exactly, their fingertips nearly touching.

"HA!"

The blinding light that erupted from their merged forms sent shockwaves through the otherworld, causing floating platforms to crack and spiritual energy to swirl in violent eddies.

When the radiance faded, a new warrior stood in their place.....someone who carried both their strengths but was distinctly neither of them.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting," Gogeta flexed his fingers, feeling every muscle fiber thrumming with unprecedented power.

A slight frown spread across his face. "I am not Goku or Vegeta! I am Gogeta! It's over Janemba! I've come for you!"

His voice carried Goku's enthusiasm but with Vegeta's underlying intensity.

The black vest materialized around his torso, followed by the white, baggy pants that taper down at the ankles, secured by a blue waistband, completing the iconic fusion appearance.

Janemba paused his reality-warping to stare at this new opponent, his multifaceted eyes widening as he sensed the massive spike in power emanating from the fused warrior.

Gogeta was maintaining a very calm demeanor with a slight frown on his face.

Without saying anything, Gogeta vanished using Instant Transmission.....but faster than even Goku could manage it.

He reappeared directly in front of Janemba, his right fist already cocked back and glowing with golden ki.

The punch connected with devastating force.....Janemba's head snapped back violently, his red skin rippling from the impact.

The shockwave carved a crater in dimensional space behind him, launching the demon through multiple floating platforms in a cascade of destruction.**

"Nyahhh?!" Janemba gasped as he crashed through otherworldly architecture. This new fighter was operating on a completely different level.

"Weak," Gogeta muttered, appearing behind the demon instantly.

His leg was already in motion, glowing with concentrated blue ki. The enhanced kick struck Janemba's spine with surgical precision, folding the demon's back unnaturally before sending him spinning through the air like a broken doll.

Gogeta pursued relentlessly, his speed creating multiple afterimages. Appearing above the spinning demon, he cupped both hands at his side in perfect Kamehameha form.

"KAMEHAMEHA!"

But this wasn't Goku's version....the blue energy beam was laced with golden threads of Vegeta's power, moving with deadly precision.

It struck Janemba center mass, driving him downward with such force that the floating island below completely vaporized on impact.

"Every force you create has an echo. Your own bad energy will be your undoing!" Gogeta called down to the smoke cloud, with stoic confidence.

"Nyaaaaaahhh!!!!" Janemba's roar of fury exploded outward, clearing the smoke instantly.

His aura changed instantly, replaced by a very oppressive and strong aura.

"Hmph," Gogeta changed his stance, settling into a fighting position that perfectly balanced Goku's loose style with Vegeta's rigid discipline.

Janemba launched forward, his speed now matching Gogeta's display. His fist, wreathed in reality-warping energy, aimed for Gogeta's face with killing intent.

Gogeta tilted his head slightly right, letting the punch pass harmlessly. In one fluid motion, he grabbed Janemba's extended arm and drove his right elbow into the demon's solar plexus, folding him in half.

Using Janemba's momentum, he executed a perfect shoulder throw, hurling the demon overhead.**

Janemba recovered mid-flight, twisting and firing a barrage of building-sized energy blasts from his mouth, each moving at light speed.

"EXPLOSIVE WAVE!"

Gogeta's aura erupted outward in all directions, creating a perfect spherical barrier.

The blasts struck his defense and detonated harmlessly, creating brilliant fireworks in the otherworld sky.

"My turn!" Gogeta brought his hands together. Golden ki began gathering in his palms, but this energy felt different....more refined than either Goku or Vegeta could produce alone.

"BIG BANG—"

He fired with his right hand while simultaneously cupping his left at his side. The golden beam struck Janemba dead-on, and as the demon struggled against it, Gogeta completed his second attack.

"KAMEHAMEHA!"

The blue beam combined with the golden one mid-flight, creating a spiraling double helix of destruction that completely engulfed Janemba. The demon's screams echoed through the roaring energy.**

When the light faded, Janemba was still standing, but his form was crackling with unstable energy. Parts of his body were flickering between dimensions.

"Gaaaaaagh?!!" Janemba snarled, his voice distorted by dimensional interference.

"You survived that huh..." Gogeta said, his expression becoming more serious. "I'm the fusion of two warriors who've pushed past every limit. You picked the wrong reality to mess with."

Gogeta's aura began to change....golden energy mixing with something deeper, touched by the otherworld itself.

Rainbow sparkles danced around his ki, similar to but distinctly different from Janemba's chaotic energy....

"Let me show you what real power looks like," Gogeta said, slowly raising his right hand above his head. Energy began to gather between his palms, but this wasn't ordinary ki. It shimmered with every color of the spectrum, beautiful and pure.

Janemba sensed the danger and charged his ultimate attack. "DIMENSION SWORD!" A blade of crystallized reality formed in his hands, sharp enough to cut through space itself. He lunged forward with everything he had.

But Gogeta's technique was already complete. The rainbow energy erupted from his hands like a concentrated galaxy, moving slowly but bending space around it, making evasion impossible.

The Soul Punisher enveloped Janemba completely. Instead of destroying him, the energy purified him, burning away the evil that had corrupted his soul....

Janemba's final scream echoed across dimensions as his true form was revealed.

When the light faded, a small, yellow ogre worker stood in his place, looking around in complete confusion.

"Wow," the little ogre said, scratching his head. "What happened? Where am I? I was just cleaning the soul-washing machine and then..."

The little ogre looked up to see a standing figure before him with glowing hair.

While Gogeta was staring at him like he could see through his soul.

"Huh??!!" The little ogre was frightened and quickly ran away in panic, completely overwhelmed by Gogeta's presence.

Gogeta landed gracefully on a nearby platform, his ki aura fading. The otherworld began repairing itself immediately....tears in reality sealing, escaped souls drawn back, natural order restored.

Gogeta didn't say anything, was just watching the restoration with satisfaction.

He flexed his fingers, still feeling incredible power thrumming through his body. "Goku and Vegeta make a pretty good team when they actually cooperate."

He floated there for a moment, enjoying the victory. But as he relaxed, something strange occurred to him...

Thirty-two minutes had passed since the fusion.

"Huh," Gogeta frowned, looking down at his hands. "That's weird. I should have defused by now."

He waited another few minutes, expecting the familiar sensation of separation. Nothing happened. If anything, the fusion felt stronger, more stable than ever.

"Come on," he muttered, concentrating on the connection between Goku and Vegeta within his merged consciousness. He tried to force the separation, but there was no seam. No boundary. Just... oneness.

Forty-five minutes passed. Then an hour.

"This isn't right," Gogeta said aloud, genuine worry creeping into his voice. His hands began to shake slightly. "The dance is only supposed to last thirty minutes. Why haven't I..."

He pressed both hands to his chest, feeling for the familiar dual rhythm of two hearts. But instead of two distinct beats, he felt only one.....strong, steady, and completely unified.

"Oh no," Gogeta whispered,

"What have we done?"
