Chapter 33: Car Conversation
(I woke up and the chapter was under review again. I'm really fed up. This is the revised version, everyone, please read it first. (╥﹏╥))
Sherlock, already in the car, didn't know that Coulson had reported his potion matter to Nick Fury, but even if he did, Sherlock probably wouldn't care.
This trip coinciding with Thor's storyline was a complete accident. The reason for revealing his "special abilities" was also a spur-of-the-moment idea from Sherlock.
After all, not long ago, his wizard persona had saved Pepper and replaced Iron Man in fighting Iron Monger. The most crucial thing was that Tony didn't stop him when he killed Iron Monger.
To say that his persona had no relation to Tony at all was absolutely impossible.
S.H.I.E.L.D. must have wanted to investigate the true face beneath his persona, but unfortunately, his disguise was absolutely seamless. Apart from height and weight, it was a fantasy for S.H.I.E.L.D. to find any evidence.
Trying to get clues from Tony was also cleverly brushed off by Tony. Sherlock felt that if he were S.H.I.E.L.D., he would first suspect someone close to Tony, and he would be the prime suspect.
Originally, this wasn't a big problem, but what Sherlock didn't expect was that he only came out for a trip and still encountered Thor's storyline. And when he did, his phone was also wiretapped by S.H.I.E.L.D..
The final result was that S.H.I.E.L.D. and insurance arrived at the same time, and the scene of the redneck truck battle with the Meow-Meow Hammer in the original plot disappeared without a trace because of him.
After much thought, Sherlock finally decided to expose the potion matter to S.H.I.E.L.D., using Thor's storyline to completely separate the two personas and give S.H.I.E.L.D. a headache.
At least until HYDRA was pulled out of S.H.I.E.L.D. by Captain America, his persona had to be kept tightly hidden from S.H.I.E.L.D..
Sherlock sat in the spacious back seat of the modified car, looking out the window while constantly refining his plan in his mind.
As the driver, Crossbones Rumlow, occasionally looked at Sherlock through the rearview mirror with a strange expression.
Sherlock naturally noticed Rumlow's expression, which contained three parts strangeness, three parts trepidation, three parts anticipation, and one part hesitation, forming a pie chart.
However, this HYDRA field Agent did not ask him, and Sherlock was too lazy to explain to him, still looking out the window on his own, constantly recalling Thor's storyline in his mind.
To be honest, as a fun-seeker, Sherlock felt that since he had already encountered Thor's storyline, it would be a blasphemy to the spirit of a fun-seeker if he didn't go and watch the excitement.
Choosing to wait for his new car in the town was also for this reason. If the plan went smoothly, his car would arrive just in time for Thor's battle with Destroyer.
If he was lucky, he might even get to stroll around Asgard.
And speaking of Destroyer, Sherlock's little thoughts must be mentioned. Although Sherlock also liked the Meow-Meow Hammer, unfortunately, it was something he was destined not to have.
No matter how much he liked it, Sherlock couldn't keep it for himself. And compared to the Meow-Meow Hammer, Odin's Destroyer Armor was more to Sherlock's liking.
According to Sherlock's guess, besides being able to fight independently, the Destroyer Armor was very likely an armor with amplification and defensive properties.
After all, before transmigrating, Sherlock had heard that Odin, as a Skyfather, could arm-wrestle with one of the Celestials after putting on the Destroyer Armor.
And most importantly, this thing might be made of the same material as the Meow-Meow Hammer. That level of defense, Sherlock had been coveting for a long time.
If it was really as Sherlock guessed, and the Destroyer Armor's material was the same Uru metal as the Meow-Meow Hammer, then it could be said that its defense and magical conductivity were maxed out.
Compared to these things, Tony's Iron Man armor could be said to be a junior.
But the most crucial question was, how should he get his hands on the Destroyer Armor!
After all, Sherlock wasn't Hela, who could crush a hammer with her bare hands, so he hadn't thought of how to get his hands on the Destroyer Armor, which had maxed-out defense.
Sherlock even felt that even if he settled for second best, getting some fragments or something, and refining his favorite weapons with Alchemy from Harry Potter, it wouldn't be a loss.
But how to get fragments was also a problem. Should he use Hela's fingernails, which were a treasure against Uru metal?
Damn it, the more Sherlock thought about it, the more difficult he felt it was. After much deliberation, Sherlock still made a decision that went against his ancestors: Sherlock decided to try using the side effects of the potion.
If he was lucky, and Sherlock randomly got a useful ability, then Sherlock wouldn't mind interfering in Thor's storyline. If not, Sherlock would just consider himself to have no fate with this thing.
However, just thinking about the extremely ridiculous negative effects of his potion made Sherlock's gums ache.
Rumlow, sitting in the driver's seat, looked at Sherlock, whose expression was constantly changing in the back seat, and couldn't help but twitch his mouth before speaking.
"Mr. Sherlock, if you want to laugh, then laugh. Honestly, your medicine is good, but I didn't expect this side effect."
Hearing Rumlow's words, Sherlock was startled awake from his chaotic thoughts and looked at Rumlow, who was sitting in the driver's seat, in surprise. After a slight pause, Sherlock realized that Rumlow had misunderstood him.
He quickly replied,
"You misunderstood, um... Rum... um... Agent, I was just thinking about something, um, it's not about you."
Listening to Sherlock's words, Rumlow, who hadn't exposed his HYDRA identity yet, was still easy to talk to. He smiled slightly and then continued Sherlock's words.
"Rumlow, Brock Rumlow, you can just call me Rumlow."
After introducing himself, Rumlow paused, looked down at his crotch, and then continued to ask with a conflicted expression.
"Mr. Sherlock, I want to ask, can the side effects of this thing really not be eliminated? For such a useful potion, this side effect..."
Seeing the conflicted expression on Brock Crossbones HYDRA Rumlow's face, Sherlock's eyes darted, and he immediately began his great art of deception.
"I'm very sorry, Mr. Rumlow, this side effect is unavoidable. You should know that everything has a price, especially powerful potions like this. Compared to harming the body, my small side effect can be said to be nothing."
Sherlock paused before continuing,
"And according to an ancient book I read before, these so-called side effects can be bizarre. If you're lucky, you can even gain power comparable to a God for 24 hours. If you're unlucky, well, you should already know."
